I like this game because it is easy to cheat and exploit. Only play with OpenMW.

This game is fuckin' weird. You can see what would eventually become the contemporary bland Bethesda style, but it's buried under layers and layers of fascinating jank. If you like digging into a weird system of RPG mechanics and figuring out how best to break it, this game is a treat.

Goddamn, Bethesda used to know how to make an RPG
Note: I used OpenMW to run it on my machine without crashes. This is not the game's fault as it was not made for windows 11 lol

This game is a drug fueled by nostalgia. The great Todd Howard has blessed us with the appropriate number of bugs and hacks to make the game continually interesting to someone, even twenty years later (God, I'm old.) Play it at your own risk. If it is your first exposure to Morrowind, and you would like a more pleasant experience, a mod to help the graphics is a must. Happy exploring!

Look this game is old, I grew up playing it so I'm most likely biased. This game is still awsome, the story and characters and voice acting, still all very good.

Was a little iffy about it at first, but Morrowind has since grown on me, to the point where I might like it a bit more than Skyrim. Love that game too, but it just doesn't hit the same note as Morrowind.

𝕸𝖔𝖗𝖗𝖔𝖜𝖎𝖓𝖉 continues to stand the test of time. Even today, the world feels immersive, with loads of content that never feels overly simplified, especially since it isn’t bogged down by limited voice acting.
The mods community has done wonders to enhance the game, making it visually appealing despite its age. It’s amazing to see how good Morrowind can look with just a few tweaks.
The soundtrack is a highlight, stirring up a wave of intense nostalgia with every track. From the first note to the last, the music perfectly complements the vast world and the adventures within it.
The main questline is genuinely interesting. It’s not just a simple hero’s journey, there’s a depth to the story that keeps you invested the whole way through.
Lastly, the UESP Morrowind Wiki is the best gaming wiki I’ve ever come across. The site is incredibly organized, making it easy to find detailed information on every quest, character, and location. It’s a fantastic resource for both new and returning players.
(Low playtime due to the use of OpenMW)

The fantasy rpg with one of the strangest and most alien settings (aesthetically and culturally) somehow manages to be the one with the most believable institutions and worldbuilding.
The fantasy rpg with gameplay that is willing to break you, and yet won't stop you from breaking it.

It is a terrible, glorious broken mess, and I love it. This game is a pain in the a$$. There is no objective marker, just vague instructions about where to go o and what to do. Sometimes those directions are given in a made up elvish language.
The character creator is awesome. You can make a character so bad that it just doesn't level up. Inversely, you can make such a broken character that it levels up crazy fast, and maxes out relevant stats.
I think my love for this game comes from rose tinted glasses, because I played it when it first came out, and it was genuinely the first open world RPG that made it work. This isn't a video game, this is a piece of art history.
Leonardo Da Vinci couldnt have predicted such a magnificent piece of art.
