After a long hard Anki workout this is how I like to unwind.

Don't be like me, play it for fun and not for competitive reasons

---KEEP FINGERS OFF UNTIL PATCH--- Hello, first got Error src/dictionary.lua:26: bad argument #1 to 'print' (string expected, got nil) Traceback [love "callbacks.lua"]:228: in function 'handler' [C]: in function 'print' src/dictionary.lua:26: in function 'draw' main.lua:126: in function 'draw' [love "callbacks.lua"]:168: in function <[love "callbacks.lua"]:144> [C]: in function 'xpcall' on entering the dictionary. Then after second restart some similar or same error (blue screen) occurred after starting the game. Need fix. Can recommend in general though. EDIT: The .ini tables seem to query the wrong entries of other .ini tables, leading to wrong translations in-game, even though the tables are correct. Cannot recommend anymore until developer fixed that stuff. Not sure if this is also why the game crashes. Other reviewer said they had to correct something in the hiragana inis - even though the tables are correct. Since then there was no update - so I believe there goes something terribly wrong in general. There go my 6 Euros to waste. ---KEEP FINGERS OFF UNTIL PATCH--- Date: 05.05.23

Maybe it's not that bad for the cost I paid which is a liitle more than 1 dollar... Anyways, the gameplay was stresfull for me hah! But I did learn some kanjis and their meaning. But the minigames like the main gameplay is just so weird and kind of uncomfortable, maybe it needs to be polished. I would recommed it at the same price and for a very casual experience, but if you want a real game to learn and have fun. I don't think this is a good option. さようなら!

It plays on the Steam Deck fine, but I feel like the camera needs to be zoomed out greatly so there is enough time to critically think about what hiragana goes to what kanji. Maybe give the players a little bit of leniency, when they are X-amount of space before the trigger collisions, you can introduce a 3 or 4 second very slow timer so the player can accurately get to the correct kanji. That way when they get the right one, it will send signals to their brain that I'm having fun and I accomplished something, kind of like the same idea behind loot boxes or gambling. That rush of excitement but also combined with actually learning something, is something I'm a huge proponent for: educational gaming. I like this concept, it just needs to be tweaked a little bit for it to be perfect. If the developer is reading this, I definitely think you have something great here, I really enjoyed it, but it needs to be modified a bit for this to work perfectly without frustrating people. Here's a video of the gameplay on the Steam Deck: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmlkgW7GUaI

A fun little way to practice kanji. It's no substitute for old fashion kanji study, whether that be stroke order practice or flash cards through something like wanikani. It's works great on the Steam Deck though.

It's a fun game to play while watching Netflix. Good to practice with, but I wish you were able to switch between what you already know and don't know. (For say Kana) Rather than just having to play through with what you don't know. (This message is mainly for the dev(s) lol)

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this, as it sometimes teaches incorrect readings

Good game could use pronunciations on top of the word at the top Also being able to change your settings without wiping your save would be nice. And a somewhat tutorial for kanji and not just figure it out because kanji is still confusing!
