Fantastic alternative racing game for people like me who don't own a racing wheel or the main F1 racing games

Get stoned, and this is the most fun game in the world

I love it but the AI skill level is all over the place. In the same race you can have a driver who crashes into you and blocks you by crashing themselves in P6 and the ayrton senna on P1, so by the time you're done with lap one, theres a 5 second gap. Making up that gap is huge fun though.

Launched it and next thing I knew, I played for 6 hours. The short races and more in depth and satisfying career than some 30+ dollar games will get you. Unless you come into this looking for a sim racer or something for some odd reason, idk how you don't get MORE than 10$ worth of fun.

Game is so much fun. like everything about it but can we get the ability to turn down the volume for eliminated explosion?? not turn it off just down litttttle less than jumpscare ear rape. thanks for replying.. also curious if im just bad or if the AI use their boost whenever I use it? I try to boost past them and they always seem to get away.

This is basically the Fly Knight of F1 sims. Sets out to do something simple, does it brilliantly. I highly recommend it.

This is, maybe, the worst F1/racer I've played in my more than 30 years of experience with the genre. The A.I. is simply BRUTAL. The first season (1980s) is fine enough, challenging but fair, so you won't refund your copy. Later on (by the middle of the game), the A.I. starts to cheat all over the place; it's simply not fun, but then you've already engaged to finish the campaign and will grind those stupid objectives and awful A.I. Also, all the happy/sad systems from your crew are garbage, just to take your concentration from the main goal—which is to win the races. You have to spend on "happiness" and end up having to wait to improve your car—in this case, the best is just to edit the game files to give yourself some extra money to become competitive again. What about not being able to restart races? This is another awful feature because, in practice, you'll end up ALT+F4ing and restarting it anyway. Just don't buy this if you don't like unfair A.I. in your games.

this game is a love letter to f1 fans, slipstream system is super addictive, overtake button is very strategic and retro style graphics are amazing imo. career mode is super engaging, always pushing you for just one more race. for who love f1 and retro gaming, this is the one <3

Buy this game.I sim race and this is as fun as sim racing. Any racer should own,more so if u like f1.Dont wait 4 a sale it is 1000 % worth full price. Again f'ing amazing game. I havent put it down since getting it. Playing on Steamdeck (sometimes through a Tv)

With the look of an older arcade racer that betrays an engaging mechanical depth, New Star GP is a great facsimile of the last few decades of Formula 1 tracks and drivers. Though the content is finite, a shame seeing as it seems ripe for expanding upon, there's plenty here to dig into before it gets stale. I'd love it if there were a few more pieces of music to vary that up, however I find that a very mild criticism for a game that is otherwise extremely polished and enjoyable.
