I've waited 17 years, 3 failed translation projects, for this. Edit: And now I finally finished the game 100%, here's my honest thought This game will make you uncomfortable. It's an old-school Black-Eroge that does not apologize. A single route is fairly short, and with repetition you will eventually skim through most of the story with [Skip-Read]. But it still took a lot of time and trial to get everything. Despite the graphic nature, it offers a wholehearted experience that leaves you fulfilled. Something I didn't expect to enjoy going into this game. The edgelord of me 17 years ago would not have enjoyed this game. Now I am more mature and I can not only understand the story, but also appreciate it. If you're easily offended, you will be filtered out. If you want something that pushes you, you're welcome to try. It doesn't offer anything groundbreaking, but I'd say the story is a solid 8/10. With the remake on the horizon I am looking forward to filling in the gaps of the story, it is not quite complete and it has a sequel bait hidden within. Like most story focused games I won't play this again... But I am absolutely happy that I was able to finally play it. It's a chapter I thought I never saw getting closure, but once I hit "Publish" it is finally over. In the end, Yuka did nothing wrong. Gore is a good boy.

This vn is Soqoooooo cool.. Avoids all of the trappings of other more infamous guro vns wonderfully. This is not a ham-fisted attempt to shove in shallow discussion of huge concepts like religion, morality and uninspired philosophical thought in between constant drawn out h-scenes. Clearly yaoi scenario writers have alot of talent to bring to the genre.. Kusaka Matsuri takes a wonderfully slow approach with her scenario work that follows fairly conventional route structure, and it gives every single character time to shine as they go are prodded through the core mystery which slowly unravels through the novel. The grounded feeling it maintains so well throughout only serves to make the Final Gore Party Extreme Extravaganza fests at every emotional peak so much more memorable and bewildering to read compared to a constant stream of brain-numbing nukige that the genre is known for. It was such a joy to read, and ueda metawo's art in this era of black cyc will forever be unmatched. Its very inspiring, to me he's one of the most underrated but prolific and awesome artists of his era To speak without spoilers of its biggest strengths but also flaws ,I absolutely adored almost every character by the end, counting even ones i thought i wouldnt be particularly attached to. Kiika was absolutely the best example of that, Her route was a terrifyingly well done leveraging Job of the game's eroguro content, molding her into a very memorable character with traits that are for some reason rarely explored in it's own genre. Aoi is also quite interesting and unique and by far my favorite character aside from kyoji, and i have no reason to try and dodge spoilers to explain the underbelly of her character when she's simply just Awesome and hardcore as hell, especially as the coolest match for kyoji. The rest are great, yamiko's route really brings alot together story-wise, and while yuka is a little hard to appreciate until the end for me, her route is an excellent final experience and emotional sendoff to this awesome B-movie horror vn. Also.. Gore is the glue that holds everything together with his super electrifying vocal performances. He plants an excellent tinge of mania to spice up the early parts of the story, and all that's needed to make him perfect is a fandisc route with the SupergeniusRockstar LatexLord --- 𝓐 𝓜𝓪𝓷'𝓼 𝓓𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓶𝓼 𝓐𝓻𝓮 𝓕𝓸𝓻𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻--- "Prepare For A Sore Ass" DOCTOR WEEEEEEEEEESTguitar yeahhhhhhh and they date and all that it would be great yep. As for genuine criticism Akane's route and character are a level weaker than everything else after it (thankfully it's the 1st route) yet it still introduces the general train of events well and sets a decent tone. She's just alot more interesting in other routes in how she affects the rest of the cast (mostly aoi) but i also just dont like her in general so this is not the Brutal hammer of objectivity smashing down ok. As much as I loved aoi's character and route, the ending had noticeably less effort put into it, and her character while being my favorite still could be expanded upon a bit more. As much as i am not really excited for that GSS remake, (i do not like metawo's current artstyle. It's still stylistically distinct to fans of his work but idk Meh i dont like it) but Hopefully the death metal girl gets some TsukiRe Ciel treatment with that rewrite. ..Also the ui is a little bland compared to black cyc's output at the time GSS was released. Maybe they limit overdesign for longer titles which makes sense looking at Extravaganza and gun katana's similarly minimalistic ui, but i cant help but yearn for that sweet juicy Yami no Koe/MinDead Blood look and it makes me sad. But it is an awesome novel all around.. Also I abstained from reading this for literal years because of how awful black cyc's old engine is compatability wise with modern windows, it made it nigh unreadable while also keeping you from taking screenshots of any kind. I hate to say it, but months after swapping to arch I randomly gave it a try and.. boom almost all engine issues are gone. This is definitely a rarity among old vn engines on linux, but a very much appreciated exception to the everpresent compatability issues ;] There is some command you have to put into the launch properties to get it to initially run at all on linux that i forget now, but the fix is absolutely floating around somewhere in the forums labelled as a steam deck fix or something, and once you do it the game runs right as rain..

I find it difficult to express my thoughts and judgments on this VN, due to the story being a peculiar mix of different genres and themes, plus pretty old on top of that. Personally, I enjoyed it, albeit it wasn't quite what I expected. I'll start off by saying that the title almost feels like clickbait. :') I was anticipating way more gore and denpa.
