Stone age is one of my oldest and favourite board games out of a collection of about 120.
It was great to be able to play this online and against AI too.
However, the art and UI choices made in this version mean I have to choose a negative review.
All the art from the original game is great, and I really like the animations of the stone age people that were added. However, the icons on the cards are so poor they make the game hard to play. I have played the real life board game over 200 times, and I found myself confused more than once by the iconography on the cards. I dont know how the devs could mess this up so badly. The "roll for resources" symbol makes little sense, the instant food amounts arent visible from the main map, the instant resources or dice for a resource type are not clear. You shouldnt have to zoom in and press the question mark to check.
Real shame. I'm glad that class board games like this are being put into steam version. But when the game design has been done for you, the art has been done for you... I really feel it should be "great" for me to give a positive review.
