A fun hacky-slashy korean mmo, its definitely best for people who don't intend to play all day. It's great for me who is an adult, both working and attending college, the fatigue system doesn't affect me yet. It's the only downside to the game for me. Otherwise, I love the characters and the graphics as well as the fighting system. I think the fatigue system is a great way to earn money from players who want to play more. It's upsetting considering I paid $15 for it. Still, the game itself is fun and enjoyable. I like the benefit of playing a bunch of characters since you get buffs across your account depending on their level which is great considering every character has their own fatigue bar. An mmo definitely for people who have busy days and maybe have enough time for 1-3 hours of game time a day.

biggest wallet draining anime PC game out there, good luck getting anywhere or forming a party with anyone if you aren't prepared to sink 1000's of dollars into the game, it might as well be a mobile gotcha (gacha) game, devs are as generic as they come and pander towards getting you to spend more money into the game, avoid like the plague unless you're one of those fanatics who enjoys spending 1000's of dollars on a bunch of pixels and JPGs that hold absolutely NO real value to anyone. Man, I miss when games were all about effort, not about who has the biggest disposable income.

For now I can recommend this game but, I'm not so sure if I can recommend later on when it will be free to play on december. Because most of the free online games usually goes to pay to win so I hope this one won't ---------------------------------- The Good ---------------------------------- + Lots of customization + Cute characters + Combat + Interesting story + Team buffs (Makes you want to use other characters too) ---------------------------------- The Bad ---------------------------------- - Can feel like pay to win system on pvp +- Fatique limiting how much you can play per day (around 4-10 hours per character, depends if you use energy drinks that you can get free usually from quests). - Can take a time to get used to mechanics (if you haven't played this type of MMORPG before) - can get repetitive (mosly on later quests when they make you do same stage like 3-5 times before you can progress to next stage)

I originally enjoyed the game very much. It had a Elsword like feel to it with more modern flare to it. I played before and a little after the official release of the game and bought a founder's pack. I didn't get far but i remember reaching around level 70 on my Seha and around 20-50 in the other black lambs and Nata and Levia. I didn't get all my hours on steam as i did also utilize the En Masse launcher when they were still afloat. The game play is decent and can be very engaging. The art style is quite nice for being a 2 year old game and a decent tiny story/ for each of the characters to boot. They deleted my account :(
For new players
Gameplay The gameplay was essentially the same from two years ago no major change from what I remember. If you liked Elsword, Closers will feel like home. A much nicer home. Thats only fun when visiting not living in. It gets tiresome and repetitive fairly quickly like other games its competing with. In short term it will do nicely for delivering that dopamine kick. Having relatively fluid skills, movement, and combos. I think the primary issue that some people found annoying is the fatigue mechanic. But if you don't no life it there really isn't much of an issue. Short play sessions are best with this game imo. Art style Anime. nice for 2 years. i would let the handsomeboyfucme. Good time for new players This is actually a nice time to try out the game. Partcularly due to the instant level 67 team rattus event. Also as you can see from some of the negative reviews. A sizable amount of older and veteran accounts got wipe. So you can have the feeling of playing on release. Optimization I personally haven't noticed something terribly off with optimization. But thats due to me playing on a work computer and laptop for like 7 years. Other people have apparently idk the deal with that. Exiting the game I had fun closing closers +1 point Lifespan? To be honest I am unsure of how long the game will last now that En Masse had gone under. I have some hope maybe they will go another 3 years if we don't kill ourselves. But this is Naddic's only game so far and they don't have a big publisher or another company to fall on if they can make ends meet. I'm not entirely sure the capability ~800 players keeping a game like this afloat. Elsword's got around the same number of players so it should be fine. I think***** (rant after) I have also seen someone mention just downloading the Code Closers version if you just want something light and quick and don't plan on getting to far in the game story wise. But I haven't tried it out myself
For old players and my personal rant I'm mad and petty this is literally irrelevant
Personal bias/issue Due to En Masse closing and going under. I have lost all my items, DLCS, and founders status. I did try to see if they were able maybe give at least the title back to my new account. But sadly they did not. I understand it was 100% my own fault for not seeing the short notice of 3 account migration emails over the span of 3 months. But I do not understand why the migration was manual and not automatic. If you want me to ramble on more about this i can try responding to comments. Coming back to the game Downloading was a hassle. Downloading the game on anything other than the main drive of computer would cause some error with one of the data packs. I restarted the patch download twice because it kept hiccuping on certain data packs. Then I tried to download the game on my main drive and no issue occurred. The download itself took an egregiously long time. I had a friend try the game out with me and he complain about the download times as well. It took me nearly 3 hours to download the patch. I have fiber and gigabit speeds. But perhaps I might be the only one with this issue? I didn't have the right internet or SSD I am not sure. Creating a new character In current time of writing there is an event of new Team Rattus characters being instantly level 67 when created. Its open to everyone returning and new players. I personally find an issue with this. As a "new player" I find that pretty cool. I don't have to work harder to get to a relatively high level. But if I was a returning player who had multiple characters with a high level feel kinda cheated out. I would at least expect maybe you need at least one character who was already at that level to get the instant level 67 perk. In all I'm just be a petty person trying to find bad reasons to hate the game. Try it out and make your own opinions If you didn't like closers try elsword if you haven't try it already ***** I am guessing on the number of closer players, I used steam charts and a guess of players not accounted due to naddic's own launcher. Guess literally has no basis. Next bit is literally another irrelevant rant i just like wasting time. Im not an analyst and i dont have advanced understanding of trends. just doing surface readings feel free to shut me down. i have no clue what im saying. Comparing it to some other mmorpgs on steam Closers seem to be little below. Basing it all on steam charts. Vindictus a 9 year old game running on source developed by devCat, is doing better in avg players and in peak players. They also have Nexon as publisher to fall back on. They also have their own launcher which has unaccounted players Vindictus Steam charts Elsword 6 years old developed and published by KOG games is doing slightly better than closers. KOG also owns Kurtpel and grand chase (Mobile game) Elsword Steam charts Maplestory 2 had a two year life span. Prior to its announced closure on march 2020 had a steady 500-600 avg players per month in the previous 6 months (solely on steam). MP2 Steam charts Granted closers had a small player base from the beginning the fact still stands they don't really have something to fall back on if something bad happens. Closers Steam charts Some bs analysis during first month of account migrations on October it had the lowest player avg it had. prior to that it had continued to decline. then next months it has increase possibly due to old players coming back to migrate accounts. After the month of January there is possibility that the player numbers will continue to decline. Also with the prospect that they lost some old veterans i would be surprised if the game lasts more than 2 more years if they dont revamp something. feel free to chat about this with me. I am posing as someone who knows something that really knows nothing

Closers is what you'd get if Platinum Games made a dungeon crawler. If you're looking for a fast paced multiplayer game with intuitive movement and excellent gameplay then you've found your niche. And it's damn impressive really, the action genre is kinda my bag and Closers lands firmly on the 'very good' side of things. (top 85% easy) The gameplay gives the player a feeling of speed, skill is rewarded with flashy attacks and spectacle, and the game is fun. Try it out!

It's a bit of hit and miss with this one. I want to love it but the game pretty much stops me from having too much fun. All the other reviews are about spot on. Game looks great, lots of cosmetics. Combat is fluid and feels great chaining skills together. I just wish I could play more but after one night of playing im already capped on stamina (fatigue) and i can't play my character anymore. What a shame. It's the oddest thing to do for a PC game. So now I have two choices. Either A) create a new character to play on (until i stam cap that character too) or B) play a different game. Welp. That's a buzz kill. It does look like the game is kinda P2W but if you just play with another friend or 2 I think this is a solid game to co-op F2P. If you ever played Castle Crashers and enjoyed going through all the missions then you'll find a place here. (That fatigue system though) I had the twitch code so i didn't even have to pay to get into early access but 3 hours into the game I knew it was legit a lot of fun so i dumped the 15 bucks on it to show a bit of support. I'm sure im okay with spending the 15 bucks for a night of entertainment but I think most gamers are probably looking for a little more bang for their buck. If you read up on their DLCs most of you guys will barf.
Should you play Closers?
Closers is one of those 2.5D Fighting/Arcade games that gives you a fulfilling feeling when you pull off solid combos. If you enjoy games that have you fluidly string together skill chains to wipe out hordes of enemies, you should probably stop reading and just buy the game right now. Of course it is by no means a perfect game, there are some problems that many other reviewers have already glossed over, such as the stamina system and that pvp can feel sort of P2W. The former is still changeable, since it is in CBT/ EA at the moment, if Enmasse sees enough players discontent with the weekly system it may change upon the official release or further down the line. However, the stamina system is fine as it is in my eyes, you get 1190 stamina after your first week of playing, with dungeons costing about 5-10 stamina each run you're in for a lot of play time; couple that with the potential of playing multiple characters and I don't see you being able to max out on stamina unless you're playing nonstop. Now the latter issue with the idea of P2W pvp and such, is just an aspect of all MMO's and online games with cash shops, there will be slight boosts here and there but it's never the case that you can directly buy maxed out gear and destroy opponents in PVP. As it is, the game isn't very P2W, perhaps more pay to progress farther than other players but even then you don't even get that much stamina being an elite or platinum status player. Free players still have a very good chance until lv50 to pvp with other players spending or not and have a fair matchup. (After lv50 your stats stop being rounded up so you'll be entering with your current gear, so I'd advise you try to max out gear before you start pvping after lv49)
So, should you play Closers?
Yeah, it's pretty fun.

With close to 1,000 Hours on record for this MMO i would like to share my thoughts. As someone who has reached endgame on multiple characters. Having one of those said characters have the Best in Slot gear and near perfect Stats. This game is extremely fun. But it does cater to a niche audience. and with that i will list the major points for this game. 1. Fatigue - This isn't really a problem once you have an established account FTG(Fatigue) and have access to multiple characters all doing something. At the start it can be rather annoying and a limiter to the amount of time you can put into any character. You start with 170 FTG at first and gradually over the course of 7 days accrue 1190. Your next options would be to start a new character or just play a different game. Id highly suggest starting a new character, not only does it make the game fresh from viewing the story from a different point of view, but also it allows you to experience different class play styles. IT IS NOT ABOUT BUTTON SMASHING. There is a lot more depth to character skills and rotations than one would think, but i'll get to that later. As i said each character is alloted 1190 FTG a week and the max amount of account fatigue one can have is around 5740. This means you can potentially play upwards of 4.8 characters a week. Let me tell you, with the amount of hours i have, you will not be using up all that account FTG. Unless you have a lot of time on your hands, maybe. But if you work or go to school you will not max it. That leads to my 2nd point 2. Endgame - Endgame is rather straightforward, you reach close to the level cap (70) and you start Tiamat or EX Zone. It's a rather challenging zone to be in for those undergeared but with the recent patch as of 5/8/2018 it made gearing less painful. However true endgame depends on what you enjoy. Do you want to do more damage for faster runs, or look pretty. That's pretty much your only 2 options for True Endgame. Getting gear is pretty straight forward and just requires dedication to dailies. However getting near perfect stats or enhancement levels requires in game credit’s and a lot of time. IT IS NOT REQUIRED TO HAVE PERFECT STATS OR A +14/15. Do not let people fool you or make you feel bad because you have all +10's and low stats compared to them. Everyone is literally overgeared for the content and simply want to speedrun. As long as your gear stay's up to date, the tunings and enhancement levels are simply min maxing, and that is all there is to it. 3. Characters and Skills. - Do not believe people when they tell you "All you do is faceroll on the keyboard and that's it. Big Damage" this isn't even close to being true. Some classes have a long wind-up to do BIG DAMAGE and others require only a small setup to execute their hard hitting skills. A quick example is my Tina. Tina requires a rather lengthy setup in order to do full Damage of her main skill "Hot Shot". It requires first maintaining several buffs and on top of that using her Fridge skill to get cryogen stacks. Once you have achieve 10 stacks of Overheat and 8 stacks of Cryogen then and only then should you use Hot Shot for maximum damage. Not only that but it has a shorter cooldown if used while maintaining a skill chain of at least 3. You see where i'm going with this. It's rather a lot to remember but with practice it becomes second nature. And all classes are somewhat similar. There is a lot of depth to each and every class that isn't hard to Master. 4. Pay to Win and EME. - For my last and final point i want to address the elephant in the room. Pay to Win and EME. let me be clear and say that THERE IS NO PAY TO WIN as with most MMOs now a days is all pay for convenience or reducing the grind. This remains true even in closers. There are packs that sell +12 boosters and later +13. But remember my 2nd point? Having all that is not required and simply used to speed run through dungeons. You just need the gear which will never ever be behind a paywall. Everything that comes after said gear is up to you. No one will not invite you because you do not have a +13. I will address Plat elite in regard to Tiamat as some have argued that Plat Elite is pay to win. Plat Elite is the 2nd level of Elite the premium membership. It only requires you pay 3 months worth of elite IN ONE SITTING. Thus unlocking Plat Elite for the remainder of your elite status. In regards to Tiamat, the raid boss will drop 1 malek crystal box which is equivalent to 300,000 credits. If you have elite you receive not only 1 additional run but 1 additional box (potentially). However plat elite also adds one more box on top of that. Therefore you could potentially receive 3 boxes per run or around 900,000 credits. I say potentially because only the box for receiving a SSS rank is guaranteed while the other 2 have a somewhat common chance to be earned. Now say you play multiple characters (lets go with 5) and do Tiamat on all those characters you could potentially receive upwards of 60 malek crystal boxes (4 runs per character) or around 18 Million credits a day. I for one play 6 characters (soon 8) and do this same tactic. It is the best money making method in the game, hands down. But it requires effort and a lengthy setup. You have to gear the characters to make the runs smoother, you also have to manage your account FTG so that way you do not reach FP cap and risk losing runs. All in all, it requires a lot of work and therefore i do not see this as Pay to Win, as it is the work that is the byproduct of the amount of money spent. Some people do not have the time nor even wish to put the effort into doing this. Now for EME they are a company and are a publisher, they will not always make the right decisions nor have the best way of saying it. They make mistakes, they may even lie. If the company causes you to not play the game, then simply do not play it. But i highly suggest to reconsider. This game is fun and enjoyable. or else i would not have put so many hours into it. We receive updates every 2 weeks, thanks to EME and Naddic ( the developer). We constantly send feedback and hear from EME and Naddic, most of the time we are not in the dark about things going on. EME is also very transparent about what's going on and own up to their mistakes. Overall i give them a Thumbs up, but a Thumb's down because of the recent update caused current players to play eventless which is rather wasteful. However i will sweep this under the rug and hopefully they are honest when they say "We will learn from this and going forwards ensure this does not happen again" Only time will tell. Closing Thoughts Overall i love this game. The combat is smooth, the animations are beautiful, the character designs are eye catching. And the costumes, the costumes are just wonderful. Realistically there isn't much one can do to stay constantly busy, but you can find a way. Most of my hours are actual play time and i try my best to manage my time with work and life and the game, but it's pretty difficult and i never end up using all my FTG every week. Only about 40 hours or so are probably afk. Forgive me for such a lengthy essay but i wanted to be as thorough as possible in my review (which is also my first) and really explain to everyone what they are getting into. I am indeed a paying player (or whale as some call me), but i play the game and put lengthy amount of hours into it. I do not wish to be above or below anyone and simply want to enjoy the game as it is. Just because i may have better stats than you does not make me better than you. If you require teaching , i will teach you. If you want me to you help you in a run, i am more than willing to help anyone. I simply spend money because i enjoy the game that much and wish to see it flourish. Thank you reading.

I loved this game, but hope that this review will prevent even a single person from expeirencing what I went though. To sum up my experience https://i.imgur.com/sbnwx0z.png That is EME's support team lead trying to delete my account after I screamed not to.(I didnt know it was the support team lead until he deleted my account) https://i.imgur.com/ThPmwBi.png Over a month later I stand with a deleted account after battling to have all of my personal information removed from their records. ************************************************ This is my full experience with CLOSERS. I enjoyed the game even with all the bad translations and some characters talking to the wrong people. The only real problems I had were from the "support" staff. Buy items at your own risk, you will not recieve any help from the support team. Several months in I purchased an Item they had advertized as having an effective rate of 13.8% chance to obtain one of the best of prized items. I purchased 17 of those $20 packs and accepted what RNG would do. I earned one of the top prizes. 2 days later I learn that the 13.8% chance I had been lead to believe was a lie. The rate was actually hidden and below 1% total. After being informed I immediately requested that Support refund all of the boxes as the rates I recieved were not what I had paid for. They completely refused. Months pass, I purchase the $250 pack while an event is happening. Again one of the listen items in the event was not as I expected so I asked for a refund without opening anything. I ask support explaining everything, they refused to refund the $250 pack based on the related event item "has been opened." I tried again a week later claiming to be an imbicile that clicked the wrong pack and was refunded by a different support staff member(team lead man was angry at this person.) After checking that the event item was safely removed, and that my extremely similar item from the $20 boxes was not removed I concluded that I was safe. Months pass and I learn that the Item I had won from the boxes was missing. I check everywhere before asking support where the item has gone. They inform me that they only keep purchase records for exactly 1 month and can not help me. I have played video games for 25 years and regularly reach endgame status. I am not incompetent enough to accidentally delete a valueable item AND be unaware of it. EME went out of their way to delete my item that I had paid good money for. A week later they then had the gaul to say "be careful next time" when presenting me with the item that should never have been deleted. At this point I was pretty upset at their service and requested the BBB to intervine as I saw they had 12 other answered BBB complaints. A week passes. I request that EME move my SOD 10/10 piece set to a different character as multiple other friends had already done this. I was not just refrused, I was refused the transfer of my SOD TITLE. I had asked nothing about this title, the guy straight up didnt read my request. This effectively became harassment as this support staff locked out the ability for any other staff to answer so I turned to the discord for assistance. To answer my call was the support team lead who looked very heavily into all of the tickets involved. He then replied "We do not offer the service of transfering a title." No joke. The guy that was supposed to have read the support tickets checking for harassment responded with the exact same error. I could not have been more clear in saying 10/10 piece SoD accessory costume yet somehow both support staff thought this meant a worthless thing like a title. Even after being presented with evidence that this transfer was done for other players the guy still refused. A week passes and I realise that it is possible the entire company is retaliating for the BBB complaint they still had not answered. This meant they would have no interest in recovering me as a customer so I wanted my personal info removed from their systems. The support lead offered deleting my account, but I realised that account deletion would do nothing about the players council application I had put in. I wanted this fraud company to have none of my info. At this point I made a choice, I wanted to keep playing as I still enjoyed the game and had spent a good deal of money and time on it. I requested all information be deleted that was possible without removing the account. EME was not to make another penny, I had still had months of play time remaining. 68 hours pass and the support team lead responds to the statement "DO NOT DELETE MY ACCOUNT" with "as per request we will remove your account from our systems." Needless to say, I freak out a bit. Not only does this company hold my personal info hostage, they are screwing with me. I spam every EME member I can on the discord for help in dealing with this support staff that is trying to delete my account without permission. The BBB complaint goes through unanswered after 35 days and is officially posted on BBB as EME's first unanswered complaint dropping their rating from B+ to D+ (updated for 2018/10/30 they are now F after leaving somebody else's complaint unanswered.) to quote the support team lead "I do not believe the BBB to be a credible organization." Why did they answer 12 complaints before if it was not credible? 5 days of spamming EME staff about the attempt to delete my account the support team lead finally responds claiming that "you selected a category that automatically recieves this response" I had selected the category that best described my request, and nowhere on that was I informed that it was account deletion exclusive. Furthermore it took 68 hours for that "automatic" reply, so much for EME claiming to not be robots. At this point the support lead told me that I needed to contact Xsolla as they for some reason my my credit card info instead of EME. EME waited 23 days to pass the buck. For reference, in the 5 minutes I was on Xsolla's website I; found the live chat button, identified my cancelled credit card number that I no longer physically held, removed my name and address from their records. FIVE MINUTES! Seriously that experience was amazing. 5/5 stars for solving problems in minutes unlike EME who creates problems for months. More weeks pass and I FINALLY manage to have them remove all of my personal info. I am now able to play until my time is up without paying another penny. One day passes. EME implemented a new system. in order to log in, you must agree to allow EME to sell your personal information and provide a link to what it is they collect and share. The first thing they list is account name and password. After all the lies and slander EME put me through I was not able to say that they 100% would not sell my account name and password. I was banned on discord for questioning this and had 5 open and locked support tickets. EME's support ticket system prevents you from opening any more than 5 tickets at a time. I was unable remove my remaining account info and delete the account. 2 weeks later I managed to contact a players council member to middleman my account's deletion. EME claims to hire gamers for gamers. I can say even without bias, EME has had 2 of the worst "gamers" I have ever seen in any game after 20 years of multiplayer experience. These players represent EME on live twitch streams. Playing the game for months and still have issues with the most basic of controls such as jump or what will this skill do. Your staff didnt even know the difference between a title that does nothing and a 10 item combination that can double your combat stats. Here I stand betrayed by a company that I thought had support staff who cared about its players. I never thought I would find a support team worse at their job than NCsoft but EME managed to pull it off. A support staff's job is supposed to make players want to pay the company. Nice job.
