You probably thought that Weird Science was your enemy. And yes, you were right, but you can always fight fire with fire, as the saying goes. Or, more fittingly, fight those artificial monsters with arcane machinery: engulf them with poisonous fumes, scorch them with tongues of flame or deploy mechanical allies and traps and let them do...

EDIT: You're better off getting Final Cut than the individual games/dlcs.
Adds a cool alternate class to the game, as well as some extra quests.

I bought the complete pack on a whim, so I had no idea what I was getting. I'm really pleased to have this DLC, though. It apes my favourite play style from 'Torchlight 2'.

I got these in a bundle so I didn't pay for them individually, but I dont see why these character classes should be sold as their own DLCs, they should just be part of the main game

Another addition adds a mage class. Lots of AoE attacks, nice relaxing game. I definitely recommend.
DLC Review
New characters always seem like a cashgrab to me, especially if they are more op than the characters offered in the base game. This one isnt the case.
New Features/Gameplay
The mechanic focuses mostly on spamming mechanic spiders that electrocute enemies, the cap can be reached very quickly tough. Turrets seem to count toward this aswell or atleast cant be replaced after placing one. In contrast to the main hunter you cant skill this character in various interestening ways as he can only be really viable in maximum of 1 or two ways, on harder difficulties not so much as he dies too quickly and the his spawns just dont do enough damage due to body being just way too op in the game.
Most annoying thing is me getting item spawns for this class playing a different one tough.
Conclusion/TL;DR
While its fun to mess around and have another character in the game, hes not really that strong but not complete garbage either. I see this as a "eh its okay" DLC.

My first ran was made with an Arcane mechanic, focusing on DPS. This class has pretty fun build-possibilities and routes. I personally found it hard to make it work against the final boss though, but i guess, i went a sub-optimal build ^^. Highly recomended!

gives you a whole new character to choose, i thought he was a regular player not until i looked at my DLCS. i would say just wait for him to be on sale, the only thing i see that it added is different guns, specific ones for your class, i guess magic. im new lol so don't judge

I am enjoying playing as an arcane mechanic. I often got frustrated with hunter because i wanted more AOE attacks. This class is perfect for the way i prefer to play . Also makes me feel like an artificer so that's a bonus as well.

The vanilla game is a traditional tale about a conflict between old mystical nature and new inhumane progress, mostly depicting the World War I angst, and therefore, uses that period as a basis for the world. In said conflict the protagonist is (literally) an outside force, sympathizing neither of the sides. As a neutral element Van Helsing must navigate his way using only a blade and a gun, with no magic or machinery.
But of course we know that with the DLC’s that changed, and although the writing stays the same, at least in spirit everyone makes a choice. While it makes great sense for “replayability”, and is kind of a good thing — most of the players play these games only once and don’t return for seconds under a different sauce. So, whilst this decision receives token good boi points from everyone, including me, it also does hurt the narrative. Therefore my second character was obviously a choice for everything progressive, new, modern, complex, ticking and tocking. Even if ineffective gameplay-wise, it is still fun to torch groups of mystics with a flamethrower.
I can't say for sure, but it seems that to differentiate the characters they've just squished the original model to make the mechanic look shorter. And he looks very screwed up with the aspect ratio and it's painful to see.
