A rare RPG maker game with quality and fidelity that isn't hentai. We needed more of these.

It was just kinda bland to be honest. Some of the answers requiring you to type in your guess was neat, but nothing else really grabbed me. The description and some other reviews talk about twists but to me they were more obvious than solving the cases.

Had no idea where did I find this game but I'm glad I did. Although the detective gameplay and story is a little bit underwhelming, I really like the artistic direction and atmosphere.

It's pretty alright, although I'm not sure I'd be saying the same if I got it full price, considering the length [strike]and some small typos etc. present at the time of writing this.[/strike]
Has a mechanic of bribing people for clues which is basically getting hints for the cases, although you can solve them without bribery.
Story is nothing exceptional but gets the job done.
Pretty beginner friendly so might be a good lite entry into the genre.
EDIT: The issues I mentioned got fixed within the very same day. Always nice to see a dev that cares.
I should also mention that the bartender bits, I've read, give further info on world details and whatnot, but this wasn't really clear at the time of playing. Considering bribery being a mechanic, I kept money for the entire game in case it mattered. This may have ended up with me missing out on some content.

A decent detective game made using RPG Maker. It has 6 chapters(excluding the prologue & epilogue), and the average playtime sits at around 3 hours. You can get two different endings, depending on which answer you choose in the epilogue.
The game is fairly unique. The whole "Bribing NPCs for clues" adds a lot of fun to the game, and solving free-answer questions in a detective game was a refreshing experience.
The puzzles were also very well done. They are just simple and easy enough not to give you a headache, and just hard enough to give you the satisfaction of solving them. Very beginner-friendly and crafted with a lot of care. If you find yourself struggling with them, try not to think too hard. It's worked for me so far.
The art and music are also not the best you can see in indie games, but considering that the game was largely made by one person, the pictures and music do serve their purpose. Presented in their own unique style, they fit perfectly well into the game's atmosphere.
I was also surprised that not many people were talking about the game's ending. It was where the game really shined for me. If you couldn't understand what it meant, replaying the prologue will definitely help. It was a piece of art, and it's my favorite part of the game. Would like to see more of what happens in a sequel, if there can be one.
Also, hats off to the developer for listening to us players. The game used to cost $10, but he recently decided to cut the price to half. He mentioned that it was because of the recent feedback that the game was too expensive for its short playtime. Developers like this are a rarity these days, and it's one more reason to support him.
Overall, the game's very nice. If you're looking for a decent puzzle game, or if you're new to the genre of detective games, or if you want a story-rich game with quality, I recommend giving it a try.
