It is a nice game but shame... some of the important features are missing.

This game is rough around the edges; but not only is it an Early-Access title where such things should be expected, but as the successor to Elona released nearly 20 years, it scratches all the same itches for a more traditional RPG-experience, but within the brutal confines of the Roguelike genre. With that fact in mind, there is a bit of a learning curve -- there is a tutorial, but it only touches on the very basics of playing the game, building your shelter, a few ways to interact with objects and NPCs...and that's it, here's your new pet dog/cat/bear/little girl, go nuts! Beyond this crash-course, the player is left to freely explore...and probably with a whole lot more questions than answers. This game does not hold your hand. Player expression is at the very heart and core of the game. You create your adventurer, and then are dropped in to freedom, with few limitations, namely food and money. With only subtle guidance, players are encouraged to interact with the game and glean knowledge on their own -- very old-school mentality, and definitely not for everyone. There's a wiki, of course, but discovering how the game works is its own brand of fun, and there are many, many different ways to play and build your lands and character. Want to run farms? Sure! Stores? Gotcha covered. An Inn? Yeah, got that too. You could pull some seedier stuff too, should you be of a mind to run a brothel, well, the game certainly won't be stopping you from "making use" of all those snow putits. You can even go form an elite mercenary unit of Billy Badasses, slip those radically-cool shades on and spout your Yippie-Ki-Ay's, and go (try) to kick some ass. It's all supported, and you'll be building stats, skills, and probably loot while you're at it. Now, yes, the game can feel unfair at the best of times. Sometimes the RNG just hates you and gives you a bunch of poor rolls in a row. Maybe you were travelling, and got squashed by your tent, which dropped on the world-cell, and by the time you return to that spot, an earthquake happened and it's all gone! There are some cruel pitfalls you can fall into if you're not paying enough attention. Sometimes you will be ass that gets kicked, and you have to be ready and willing to accept the very real possibility that you can lose a lot of work by not being attentive enough, and while there are some warnings based on present circumstances thanks to our fairy friend, Nerun, who will inform you that, yes, the Winter season will kill all of your crops and trees on your lands, or chime in when you're following a life of criminal activity, which can result in harsh, potentially game-bricking consequences. Or remind you to pay your taxes, as tax evasion is the biggest crime. The game can be very rewarding if approached with the appropriate mindset and attitude towards it, but it does demand a level of respect and competence from its players. It will not be for absolutely everyone, but for those that jive with it, it offers a very personalized and rewarding gameplay experience in a world you can turn into a sandbox.

10/10 — finally, a game where someone genuinely needs vomit for their kid's birthday.

This has been in Early Access for quite some time and the devs continue to update it BUT the vast majority of updates are on incredibly random stuff while core mechanics are totally neglected. The crafting in particular is a complete mess that needs to be fixed. It has the look of a game you'd want to play but is seriously wanting under the hood.

I kinda hate this game. Having to kill like 20 animals for 1 body I can cook and eat in a game that's "realistic" is so dumb. Spent hours to get 10 Karma by doing quests only to fail one quest I don't even know how and got knocked down to 7? Sometimes I lose karma just walking around the town because I committed a crime somehow I think by walking into someone? Bats and snails are so annoying to kill. etc. etc. just a frustrating game overall sorry. I think most of it is solved by figuring out the game mechanics but with such little info about the game and so many things to learn just to do basic things it's not worth it IMO. Oh also I went into this cave barely killed like 50 things cleared out 2-3 floors I don't remember only to reach a locked door and apparently it's because the game ain't finished yet so it's perma locked but why put the cave there brother it's such a waste of time

I could be doing anything.. be a farmer, manage my own land, be a musician, a thief etc. theres so many classes you can be too and theres plenty of races you can choose which have some perks and downside... like being a fecking snail or a smol fairy. Theres dungeon explorer to loot and selling all the gears i found.. (i actually loot and horde those stuff due to my habits from different game so i got a lot of chest in my base) All i want to say is this sandbox game is really good and i love it~

It is a comfy base building/adventuring game with lots of option to customize your base. You can become an inn keeper, a fish monger, a tourism manager and a lot more. Though I have a few complain about the end game, everything else is really good. Currently, while I'm writing, the story hasn't finished yet, but what is already there is very charming. A thing I would complain about is the key combination though. There are a lot of key combination that isn't even in the game setting that you have to remember for yourself. For example: - Holding the middle mouse button to show roof - ctrl+f to find item on your base - f2 to quickly find recipe

It kind of breaks my heart to give this game a negative review. But honestly, it's really raw, it's really absurdly grindy, and the game itself is completely unintuitive. The thing that really drove me to change my review to negative, is I had a tree farm and it hit winter and I thought it would be fine because trees are fine in winter, right? Wrong. Discord people insist it's not a bug, despite moving 1 fricking tile in game and the tile is full of snow covered trees. But my trees? Gone. Whatever. I went to the discord thinking it was a bug and was absolutely attacked by a bunch of the most toxic people I've ever seen. I know discord can be a cesspool, but this place takes the cake. I was told to quit. I actually had to block Mifu Mofu「White Vixen」because they are incredibly toxic and abrasive. This game's community seems to be extremely unfriendly to new players. They actually complained about some streamer bringing in new players they had to get rid of. I went in with a legitimate concern about a bug and was absolutely railed and told to quit. Forgive me for being confused my entire tree farm and its remains despawned from the world in less than a game month. Buyer beware.
