Takes me back to the good times I had as a kid playing on the tablet. Not only that, but the added content makes for some fun ways you can mess around. Can't wait to see if they get Multiplayer in.

It was fun at first, but once u get the hang of it even hard mode is too easy. Furthermore, as someone who used to play the mobile game, I would like the map to be slightly bigger since this is a pc port.
I would also like to say that the material exchange is unnecessary since part of the game's fun is managing your resources right. If you could just do an exchange of materials (coins to minerals and vice versa) as well as (global minerals to minerals/coins), then whats the point of managing resources? For instance you could just spam a high level world to get global minerals and you could easily have a head start in weaker worlds.

Honestly, I haven't gotten very far through the game but I love it so far! Probably one of the best "Tower Defense" games that I've played in awhile, base-building/management phase leading into the fps wave-phase and repeat! I had never played the original Block Fortress on mobile until I played this, but I LOVED playing Block Fortress War when I was younger. Definitely my go-to for long car-rides or plane-rides; Even though I've played through and fully finished the game over 10+ times LOL. I digress, this is definitely mixing it up from the original, with some great additions from the first game. That being said, there is some optimization issues with the game, especially during some heavy waves or versus particle-heavy races.
Some (Improvements / additional content) that could be made:
- Optimization (High priority)
- Different starting weapons or load-outs before starting a location (Low Priority)
- Other races made playable (Either through updates or paid DLC)
- Potentially adding a "Custom Troop" for the barracks where you can change their weapons/perks
- Besides that, great work!
Side Note: If the developers read this, I would 100% buy Block Fortress War on PC, even if it is a port. Even if you guys make each race have +5 (10 total) levels per race/planet that would be amazing. Thank you so much for the good memories!

The game is well made and fun! Very war hammer esq with the orks. This game is not worth 20 bucks however, you should buy on discount. Its well made and fun, but not worth 20 bucks. If the game goes on a nice discount I will rebuy.
I played the original and this is a big step up from the first game, but I hope more content is added.
One feature id like to see is a public chat. A public hub might be a problem in terms of money, so a public chat will be just fine.
Id like to see more weapons and factions as well. This game has CRAZY potential, and I wish to be there when this game has really gotten upgrades.
I also wish this game will develop a very positive and awesome community, and I will happily be there if it forms.

I just think this game is a bit too different from the 2012 Block Fortress; It feels unbalanced but I can't really put my finger on it and the visuals seem like a slight downgrade in comparison to the mobile variant. I still think the game is fun but definitely can be better, just wouldn't recommend it for now because I don't think there's a lot of content at the moment.

As a fan of the original mobile game I played when I was far younger seeing this pop up brought back some nostalgia.
The game feels a bit too similar to the mobile game although the maps are far better in terms of looks etc. The game play feels different in a strange way, I understand what they were going for with the planet upgrade system but I think the universal upgrades from the first game were better.
I think the main problem is scale, the maps are quite large but all but a few turrets have pathetic ranges, by the time they start shooting they will probably be killed in one or two shots by a ranged enemy and then you have to pay an expensive price to replace them (the economy is another thing that needs balancing). This means the ideal (and maybe only) strategy is build a giant tower with laser turrets which wins easily making every other turret feel pointless.
I don't know what to suggest to improve the game except doubling resources and enemies and dramatically increasing all the turret ranges. The game basically punishes you for using any other strategy except big laser tower.
I might come back to the game later but in it's current state it feels a bit early access, the menus are pretty bad too you open a menu to open a menu etc. If you command a bot to move it opens 3 (different) menus on top of eachother? which I assume is just a bug

I like the game enough to recommend it as a decent base building/tower defense game. The problem is that as i play it it just makes me want to have the original block fortress on pc. All the new graphics and the complicated menu system puts me off.

Good initial start but quickly becomes tedious with clear meta builds outshining all other possible builds. just simply build a tall tower on you bunker and slap lasers and snipers on it, built it out like a giant mushroom, end game content.
I wish there was more depth to the game, such as complex commands to your troops such as deployment options, patrol routes, guard this area, etc. they really missed out in this area, although there are simple follow me and retreat commands they kind of fall flat when you are playing. maybe voice lines from your bots like "help im being over run over here" would bring some life to this lifeless game.
i also feel like a lot of the maps and resources are annoyingly sparse, it leads me to just build the meta build, no walls, just a big mushroom with turrets on it, cause i sure dont have the resources to repair walls, or build them in most games. maybe instead of resources it can cost a base block for every round you can build 50, some blocks cost more but essentially they are free from the typical resources you need for turrets and people.
Game has a lot of potential but right now its basically a port from the 5 dollar mobile game you can get on your phone with not much extra added into the game.
AI still has the basic walk straight towards closest base material as well, so cheesing the AI is pretty easy, it cant be that hard to code AI in 2025 i think chat gpt could write the code for this ai in a few seconds. Boring predictable AI, leads to boring rounds, and overall causing players to lose interest pretty fast.
Summary: save your money until more content or updates arrive, this game is not worth 4 times the cost of its mobile counterpart.
