Basketball team management sim, plays similar to Pocket League Story but with a few new things here and there. The fan activities event is out of Dungeon Village. The 'tutorial' is full of mis-translations calling the options the wrong names but you can easily figure out what they actually meant. This used to have a loading issue that made it take forever but sometime in the last day or so they released an update that fixed it, it loads very quickly now. I've also found sometimes that my team will just play like utter crap for random games. Then I'll re-queue the exact same team again without doing any sort of training then my team will smoke them. Not sure why that happens. Regardless. If you like Pocket League Story, good chance that you'll like this one as well. This is one of Kairosoft's finest sports management games. So many things to do to run a successful basketball program, and with such satisfying that just about any management sim/efficiency junkie will be satisfied with the gameplay.

there are not many good basketball games out there - if your bar is low, I recommend this game. Good idle game if you work-from-home

Very simple low stress basketball management game, it's a shame you can't control the players and it only allows for two saves which is annoying but a fun game to spend time when you don't want anything to taxing.

Mood | Kairosoft formula + basketball flavoring. Low investment idle game to play on 2nd monitor, Steamdeck, or laptop. When travelling or waiting in lobbies. Context | Kairosoft port of mobile game. Basketball management sim, simple pixel graphics, lots of idling, multiple progression systems. Follows the Kairosoft formula, good amount of idle gameplay for the price. Completion | 100% completion, 6/6 Achievements, 32 hours Highs | Fun pixel art. Lots of inside jokes. Sound design and presentation make it fun to watch the games play out. Lows | Too long for an idle management sim. Repetitive game loop. Progression at endgame becomes arduous. Bugs | Occasionally gets stuck at loading screen (fixed with closing and restarting the app).

This is my second Kairosoft game and the most shocking thing i've noticed is the sheer amount of content for the size of the actual game. As of right now, the game sits at a measly 80mb on my hard drive but has enough content to be a couple hundred mb's. This probably has to do with the asset choice, as the game is stylized with pixel art. That being said, as a casual simulation game it is fairly fun. The core gameplay loop is quite simple but gets the point across. Probably would not recommend at full price but with the 4 game bundle it is definitely worth. One of the largest criticism's is the laziness of the PC port. The UI can be buggy sometimes and definitely could look better. This seems to be a standard theme across all Kairosoft games though (The best looking being Pool Slide Story). Still, it doesn't make the experience bad or anything. Just a minor point to talk about.

One of my players just hit a clutch 3 from half court to tie the game and send it to overtime, where we won Hypest gaming moment of my life 11/10

Fun at the start, then as the difficulty rises, stupid AI decisions in the court makes your blood boil. I think it's an intentional design decision to artificially raise the difficulty by making your players stupid and the enemies geniuses, also the 3-pointers are extremely inconsistent on my own side while the enemies keep making all their shots. In any case, too much RNG bias for one to handle.
When you know nothing about managing Japanese basketball, you just throw all you've got and do it anyway.
Yeah, another Kairosoft game where the game designer thinks everyone is a prophet and knows the game mechanics without a proper tutorial. But you know what's good in this game? Gambling.
Review :

[th] About[/th] [th] Description[/th]

Gᴀᴍᴇᴘʟᴀʏ What I learned from the last Kairosoft game is that all of their management games use Japanese locations as inspiration. This game showed us how to manage a Japanese basketball team. It's a simple yet complex old mobile game that's been ported to PC. You learn the game through trial and error, especially when the economy is so harsh. Believe me, the game helped me so much by giving funds to my team from a local mayor. God, I wish mayors in my country helped locals like that (they never do), but it's impossible. That's the reason this is a Japanese game, full of nice people, unlike the place we currently live in. Basketball Club Story is full of random numbers. everything is RNG. No matter how good the skills or how expensive the salaries of your team are, they might lose to a local team with no fans. This is probably due to simple programming and technically a mechanic that makes the game unrepetitive and unpredictable. So far, it's kind of addictive but sometimes frustrating.

Gʀᴀᴘʜɪᴄ Nothing changed or is different—same style they've been using for over 10 years? Well, I respect that and have no issue with it. I'm not some spoiled brat who grew up only with a PlayStation.

Mᴜʟᴛɪᴘʟᴀʏᴇʀ No multiplayer content still sucks. There are no friend or global high scores. I mean, I do believe they were pretty successful on the mobile platform and are now trying to milk PC players. Here I am, helping through review to mention this game wasn't a money grab, which technically it was. So yeah, no online content.

Cᴏɴᴛʀᴏʟ No problem using, Keyboard and mouse.

Pʟᴀʏᴛɪᴍᴇ 57 hours? Who put in that much playtime? Perhaps I'm only at 10 hours of gameplay, and I still can't beat the second map. This game has eight maps, each with its own team, and the difficulty increases as you progress. I can see the game offers a pretty worthwhile long run.

Sᴛᴏʀʏ You create a Japanese team and have them play matches against other teams or join a league where you fight against a certain number of opponents. Build a community, socialize with them, buy land, and create a tourist attraction. Holy cow, basketball in my country doesn't do that! That sounds fun. What's funny is that the fans of your team range from kids to older people. Imagine in Indonesia, the fans are just a bunch of the most horniest unpopular gals watching their favorite male players. they don't care about any of the things this game offers. It's like they'd send them to isekai. They're not big fans on people with disabilities. Japan's got nice folks, but sometimes their social rep isn't the best.

Bᴜɢ • RNG, Gamble. • My team lose from the first level with my team that has ten times more skill than opponents.

DLC No DLC.

Oᴘᴘɪɴɪᴏɴ Yeah, it's just me who wants to spend free time playing games without much effort. Looking for an inexpensive game to pass the time? I'm only giving this game a recommendation because 1) it's a Kairosoft Game and 2) it's a simple game. If you're looking for a game with lots of details and real basketball knowledge, this isn't for you. My best player doesn't get the ball very often, the AI makes the weirdest choices. Wide open shots and layups and passed up. Passing the ball is ridiculous. And there isn't really a position in this game. Just five guys on the court.
