Hot garbage. I adored the original, and was pretty excited for this.
Plays poorly, and the story additions make basically everyone unlikable. I'm gonna go play River City Girls again instead.

River City: Rival Showdown has a lot of content, but unlocking some of it is quite difficult. The main game goes from really hard to really easy very fast, but is still quite fun (even though the events are hard to find on your first run). My main complaint is that you can only play easy mode on the main game until you witness all of the events on easy mode. The side game Double Dragon Duel: 2023 pushed this game from "meh" to good.

Broken controller support. The supposed fixes that the company suggests don't work. You will have to remap your controller to the keyboard if you want to play at all. Pathetic in a game released in 2023.

this game has GARBAGE controls No it is NOT fixed DO NOT Buy if you dont have a Steam Deck. in the Infinite Wisdom of the devs they dont support Controllers the Controls are WSAD and JKL. it is only for steam deck and i am disappointed because i loved the NES original. played that for hours.
Controls are so bad dont bother
