even if we buy the weapon pack for real money.. there is some serious gold prices even on ataining these weapons.. no they are not completly free.
YOU STILL HAVe TO PAY a GRIP TONNAGE OF GOLD DRAGONS to get them.

This DLC adds new, strong weapons (with a bit of lore) into your game. I think it is not worth the standalone price - get it if you can bundled with the main game.

You can complete the game at the squire and knight levels without buying anything at all from anyone (i can't say anything about the lord: havn't tried), so this DLC's trader is the only person who can relieve you of cash. I bought a crossbow with unique bolts for my archer at low level, and this made my life easier. Before the last battle in King's Landing I purchased almost everything suitable for my characters from him (but did not even try out most of the stuff).
However, I would not buy any of this DLC, if the game was on sale without them.

The Weapon Pack, as the name itself implies, is a DLC for Game of Thrones adding a stock of epic quality weapons to the main game. Said weapons are of various types and are given to you by new merchant NPCs hanging around Castleblack, King’s Landing, and Riverspring.
While the addition of new weapons in a RPVG such as this is always something to be welcomed and the new artifacts are references to famous characters, pack powerful buffs and the highest attack powers in the entire game, they are also sold at very high prices, so don't expect to pick them up right off the bat: you'll manage to unlock them during the later chapters of the game at best.
It's also worth mentioning that, during the last straws of the story, it's very easy to acquire slightly more powerful weapons by just experiencing the narrative content.
In short, buy this DLC at your own discretion

I encountered many type of weapons/equipment on NPC's stores in this game.
As for my first playthrough I didn't buy many items only few that I really needed (even tho I had enough gold to spend)
So if you're not intrested in spending much on equipment you can skip this DLC.

Overall the weapons are pretty good, very expensive as well. You can find some weapons that go toe-to-toe later in the game but overall a nice addition for those not counting on drops. +1 for the weapons related to westero's history.

Too costly in early game to buy. mid game you might be able to afford them. late game when you can afford them you can get just as good weapons as drops. If you dont mid spending a couple of $$$ on this then yes it is good to get but I was able to complete the game easily with out ever buying anything from the merchant.
Nice little Addon but not needed.
