This game is super fun and cute, especially for DnD lovers. Very entertaining. The cocktail mixing aspect was also a good amount of interaction to keep me engaged.

After playing Coffee Talk, I was looking for another magical service setting and wow, does Tavern Talk deliver!! As a sober person, I really appreciate that it is more focused on potions and tinctures vs liquor. All of the characters ooze personality and the art is stunning. The color palette is dreamy, fitting of cozy vibes and easy to pick up and play anytime. Warning: you will be playing for hours without realizing 😅

Tavern Talk is a delightful story from beginning to end. All of the characters are so lovable, relatable, and endearing to watch them develop over the story. I really appreciate the found family aspect, it's so lovely to see. The only complaint I have is that you can't save your game in the middle of a chapter, as if you try to do this, you have to start over from the start of the chapter. The artwork and character design is also really lovely as well. As the designs have plenty of personality that will make you love the characters even more, like I have. If you are looking for a story of found family that will touch you in the feels, give Tavern Talk a shot. It's a story I know I won't forget anytime soon. Also I love Fable with every fibre of my being.

Okay where to begin. Oh I know... how about... the total amount of... ellipses they use in this game. I feel like they are emulating their inner William Shatner. The music so far has been one of the redeeming qualities and the drink mixing leaves a little more to be desired. I know this is a visual novel so I wont fault conversations to be wordy, but the... ellipse is... certainly abused... in this game. Not sure if it is intentional, Shatner like, or a high school play where no one bothered to remember their lines I know there's probably an interesting story in this but so far you got someone with their first D&D character that is an uber edge-lord. like there is no reason to say -drink, something drinkable. Your character is needlessly rude to everyone. Like we have to bow down to their herculean knowledge and wit because we mere mortals will never be able to comprehend. If you are looking for something with characters that are more fleshed out and want to play as a bartender, or barista stay away from this and go with coffee talk. Feels like this game tried to cash grab on the success of that game and shoe horned a hodge podge of scrapped D&D characters that probably had two sessions at max

This game rests its laurels on the art, which is really good, but it lacks in both the gameplay department and with its characters. The gameplay wears itself out very early, and becomes tedium, and there's no character that I will really remember, cause they're all quite generic.

on paper, I was supposed to love this game. I like dialogue-driven, story-rich games, as well as fantasy, but for some reason, I had to push myself to finish this one. it starts pretty interesting, but I'd say around hour 5 all the excitement dries out, and you are left with meaningless conversations, that have a promise of a bigger story, but the important bits are so scattered that it gets boring to continue reading. I have to acknowledge that I mostly played this game before bed, which definitely contributed to my sleepiness going over all the text, but at the same time, I didn't have enough excitement to play it throughout the day, as I didn't want to get too bored, so I'd say it's not totally my fault. the pace picks up in the last 2-4 hours, when we had to the finale, and that was one of the only reasons I kept playing. I did enjoy the characters, and wanted to see how it all ends for them, but it wasn't easy it didn't help that the bartering part is so underwhelming, quest creation is a joke, so you're stuck only reading the dialogue, that is only good at the beginning and at the end I was really conflicted on how to rate this game, and while I liked the overarching story, I can't say I would recommend this game. but hey, who am I to tell you what to play, hehe

I have been trying my hardest to like this game, but the writing (or perhaps just the English localization) is insufferable, and the drink mixing is such a non-element that I'm wondering why it was included at all. The game doesn't allow you to make mistakes or experiment with the ingredients, and the system of matching rumors together to form a quest is similarly shallow. The dialog isn't half as witty or funny as it wishes it was, and the majority of the cast is outright annoying. Surface-level reference humor and fourth wall breaks are overused, particularly in the first couple of scenes, and there's a joke that's lifted directly from Scott Pilgrim the first time a certain NPC appears. There's a particular conversational exchange that is some variant of: "Here's a statement of fact." "Is that so?" "It is." ...that is so abundant that I'm tempted to start a new playthrough and count how many times it's used from start to finish. I'm barely over two hours into the game, but I'm already getting tired of it, which does not bode well for the experience as a whole. I plan on playing it to completion at the request of a friend, so perhaps my opinion will have shifted by the end. Weirder things have happened. On the plus side, the events that spur the story on are compelling enough that I'm not entirely averse to continuing. The art style is gorgeous, and the music and character design is quite good. I hope that the writing picks up to match as the game progresses.
