pretty fun game with multiple endings depends on your choices, the weapon selections are prettynice too and being able to mix match them can make a gameplay easy or challenging

Enjoyable, albeit very short shoot 'em up with a forgettable story.
Some players might find it too easy but for a shoot 'em up newbie like me, it was challenging enough.
The story is there, but that's all that can be said about it. The branching storyline is an interesting idea, but it's executed poorly. Your choices won't influence the ending in a meaningful way and if you're unlucky, you can unintentionally skip some boss fights, which are probably the best this game has to offer.
Flightpath's biggest flaw is how short it is. It feels more like a first episode than a complete game. You barely get a chance to try out some of the weapons and upgrades, before you reach the final level.
The game clearly expects you to replay it multiple times to explore different story branches, but at the same time, doesn't make it interesting enough for you to care.
That being said, it's an OK game. Not worth the full price, but worth checking out if discounted.

Flightpath is one-part classic spaceship games like Zaxxon but with all of the attributes that you wished those games had back in the day. Wanna upgrade your weapons? Wanna increase your shields or armor? Want to add side-shooting or rear-shooting weapons. It's all possible. And then, wrapped up in compelling story that works ala Valkyria Chronicles or Val-Halla. The story adds oomph to the maps, and the maps are challenging enough that you'll definitely need to figure out your vehicle build and strategies. Just super-fun. And the price-point can't be beat! Highly recommended!

An OK shooter buried by a lot of curious and tedious decisions. It's a story-based game, not score-based, so that's a big mistake off the bat. The point is to complete levels as well as side missions, but 99% of the genre's games have been score-based for a good reason. You can't really get better at this game, or compete against others, you just read the awful story and shoot until you get to the end of the level. Why ever replay this?
The upgrade system seems neat at first but you'll hit the wall before long as even with the best generator you can't install all the best weapons, and so you'll have thousands of dollars with nothing to spend it on.
Did I mention there's story text and pop-ups *during* the shooting action? Ouch. Throw away the story and make this score-based and it's decent. As it is it's a bit of a chore. 6/10

A great schmup with cool characters and a brief but interesting story that doesn't overstay its welcome. Really impressive for the studios first game. Highly recommend!

Never really played many Shoot'em Ups but this was a good bit of fun. The characters were enjoyable to play with their different stories and the ship customisation was neato. The game doesn't let you slap every weapon available to make you death incarnate on so there is a balancing act that goes on depending on what kind of style you want to go for regarding weapons. But I got all the daka I needed.
The game occasionally gives you choices where you can choose your Flightpath (hur hur), the objectives and future paths change depending on it which is a nice touch to add some replayability to it all.
Overall nice game, would recommend if you enjoy shoot'em ups and want to support an Indie dev.

Flightpath is a simple shmup where the player takes role of one of there characters with some branching story/missions. Or Flightpaths as the game calls them. Honestly, none of the stories are anything to write home about, but they also don't get in the way. And I find the Flash era, semi-amateurish manga style endearing in a strange way.
The game controls pretty well. The enemy shooting patterns are mostly targeting your ship with a few pre-programmed patterns. Nothing fancy and hardly what I'd call a bullet hell. At the same time, I think the game expects the player's ship to be hit as Flightpath has recharging shields for bullets and static armor for ship-to-ship collisions.
An interesting, if underdeveloped, mechanic is the generator and weapons loadout customization. You ship has several primary weapon hard points of various facings (front, back, and couple of angles). Each weapon added takes up some of the capacity of the ship's generator. And even with the best generator, a ship can't load up on all of the most powerful weapons in each hard point. So, the player has decide where they want their most powerful weapons and how much they want to push their ship's generator. As going into the yellow or red means the secondary weapon recharges much slower or not at all weapon using primary weapons.
An additional factor is all weapons, armor, shields and generators cost money. This money is earned via in game pick ups that are later spent at the shop where the upgrades can be purchased and installed. With the shop encountered part way through most missions, but not at the end of a mission.
If the player takes too much damage, they are treated to a side mission from the shop owner with a random ship. During this side mission additional money is earned and after completing it, the shop owner repairs your ship for no charge. Essentially given the player additional money to buy upgrades before retrying the mission they failed. Giving them a better chance to succeed the second go.
Flightpath is a fairly easy game. Running through all three character stories, I failed 3 missions total. And usually in the first half of the game when my ship had few or bad upgrades. And while easy, I had a lot of fun with the game. Especially playing around with the upgrades. Where I found my favorite setup to be installing as many plasma weapons in the front facing hard points to deliver the most concentrated damage possible.
At the time of this writing, Flightpath offers a demo. Which shows off a glimpse of everything the game has. Play it, and if you want more of the same, go ahead and pick it up. However, if you are looking for more, the full game doesn't expand much beyond what the demo has.

Awesome little ship shooter with plenty of options on how you can play your loadouts and put them to the test! The story isn't overburdened with too much and the gameplay is enjoyable, good for a quick run or a few!

A bit on the too easy side for me. I think the main reason I'm returning the game is because there's no difficulty slider.
Endless mode the enemies did seem to get a little harder after about 30 minutes in, and I did enjoy a bit of the roguelike aspect of that part. Weapon customization in this year in a shooter game is very rare also.
I do give the developers some credit for making a game similar to Tyrian 2000 where you can customize your weapon loadouts and engines and such. More shootemups should follow that example.
...It's just that Tyrian 2000 is 100% free (google it) and extremely worth playing as it's a great example of how a game that is a bit easy can be super fun.

With a strong scene of your surroundings you too can be an ace pilot! That's the feeling you get as your ship zips around the screen in Flightpath the new indie shoot'em up developed and published by Illogical Games.
You start the game with all three playable characters unlocked and ready to go. Kath: The Engineer, Aj: Ex-Decetive, and Max: The Racer. As of writing this I have only played as Max as trying to remember all the routes taken for complete her achievement.
Oh did I say ROUTES as in multiple paths to take? Yes, yes I did. The game is called Flightpath after all so why wouldn't there be multiple paths extending the games playability? Each character has their own story and set of routes to take from savings NPC's to completing side objectives that unlock other interesting routes. Each run can be slightly different than the last based on your choices.
The game play of Flightpath is solid in it's simplicity with a large array of weapons, armor, and other items in which to build your preferred load out throughout the whole game. You can play a more defensive build or go full on assault watching as the enemies health bar melt into nothing. Such customization really lets you play around with what works best for you and your play style.
For all in this short review I can say that Flightpath was worth the money spent on it and I'm not done with it yet. Here I come 100%!!!!
