This is not the worst Otome VN that you can read, but it is not good either. I'll start from the praise: + Voice acting was good + Music was good Mixed feelings: - Art was mostly good. I liked Character sprites, but not every side character had sprite. CGs were mostly good, but the ones for Huaisu was clearly made by a different artist and I did not like them much. Some backgrounds were photos, which is fine, but sometimes photos did not match what they should depict (e.g., castle rooms look like modern day hotel). - Dictionary... Some of the words were just transliterated from Japanese into English and I felt that it was not always necessary and just made reading harder. To illustrate my point, please, tell me how this sentence reeds out to you: "Ainu[1] live in Ainumoshir[2] and after death should go to Ponkamoshir[3], not to Kamoymoshir[4]", with the dictionary entries: Ainu - human Ainumoshir - realm of humans Ponkamoshir - realm of the dead Kamuymoshir - realm of gods. I... just think that the sentence can be rephrased to make reading easier. To be honest, there is such a missed opportunity here, it would have been cool if gods used different language from humans and used words from the Dictionary. But no, gods are speaking exactly like humans. More to that, the god, who was isolated for centuries, uses modern geographical names, which he should not know (instead of the old names of locals, he uses modern names that were given to places by the nation who occupied the land while the god was in isolation). Maybe I just thinking about it too much, more than authors of the game. What was bad: - The plot is rushed and poorly thought out, which is the sad, because the setting is interesting. The demon god plotline suddenly starts, without any buildup, and suddenly ends (if you don't stay on his route). Actually, most of the events suddenly start and end, they just happen. In the most routes, the main villain of the story is just ignored in the end or dealt with offscreen. It is a mess... - Romance is rushed and not believable. All events of VN take a few weeks and I can hardly understand why the MC would like the boys, or why would they like her. The demon god is the worst offender in this: he is awful,
was casually murdering people in the past and continuing into the present. But you see, he was deceived by a woman once, and, you know, genosided a whole nation because she asked and he didn't think to check her words. He treats MC poorly, but he was deceived in the past, so he is not guilty apparently, and he loves flowers, and he is hot, so he is good in his heart or something.
. Huaisu route is not much better:
the guy wants to do ... a thing ... and then he just changes his mind, just like that
. - Bugs: the image was blinking sometimes, the music was missing sometimes. Given the weak writing, inconsistent art and bugs, I would not recommend taking this game, at least not for the full price.
