If you're going into this expecting something on par with The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us you will likely be disapointed. I love Law and Order so I figured this was a natural fit. Unfortunately the voice acting is horrible. The fact that the real actors don't provide the voices is bad enough, but when you combine it with an unnatural cadence that occasionally sounds like someone plugged the script into a Microsoft Sam and Mary reader the result is less then steallar. Its made even more frustrating by the fact that for split seconds they actually sound like the original actors before quickly falling back into that Microsoft Sam/Mary dynamic. The gameplay, though never a Telltale strength, isn't as seamless as their more recent titles. In an effort to make it a crime solving game there will be many mechanics that will feel foriegn to newer players such as circling items with a mouse to investigate rather then simply clicking on it. I also wasn't to crazy about how the game stressed'correct and incorrect' choices as part of the appeal of these type of narrative heavy games is that in the end there really is no true right or wrong. I love Telltale and though I'm not happy with the game itself its not all bad when you consider I had a chance to help out one of the better developers in gaming today.

This game is old but still hold up pretty well. It's not too hard for these games to stay up as long as they have a good story, and this one does. Won't disappoint anyone who likes these narrative type of games.

There's not many games out there where you get to play as both the police and the district attorney - half of the game is searching crime scenes, questioning witnesses and suspects; the other half takes place in the court room where you get to shout, 'Objection!' a bunch. You can't really fail but there's a three strikes and you're out mechanic. All that means is that you have to try again (replay the scene). You can always replay scenes to get the outcome you desire. The game requires a pretty good memory in order to recall information, what people have said during dialogue, etc. The game does have a transcript, if you're a bit slow up there. Don't worry, I had to use it a lot. The game refers to something from the TV series I think which makes at least one of the cases a little more difficult. This reference pops up a lot - it's The Preppy Joggers case if you're wondering. Anyway, I definitely recommend it. It's worth at least one playthrough, especially if you're a fan of Law and Order TV series. I've never really bothered with it but the game was still good.

A ton of fun, the puzzles are logical, the cases are interesting. If you liked The Wolf Among Us, you'll like this. You can really see where telltale developed some of the things they would use in The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us. The only real downside to this is the voice work. The actors are decent, but it's really jarring as an avid viewer of the show to have such iconic characters have completely different voices. All in all, this game is solid, and definitely worth it for anyone who enjoys crime drama.

Having never watched Law and Order, I didn't know what to expect from this game, however I found it to be surprisingly enjoyable. The game is similar to LA Noire in the detective section, in that you question witnesses, then search for evidence. The difference is that LA Noire had quite a number of Red Herring plot lines and you could easily fail every case if you used evidence and interviews incorrectly. Law and Order has a guarantee that you will never fail. If you happen to mess up for any reason, the game pretends as though it didn't happen, which is quite frustrating. Additionally, like LA Noire, the game tells you when you messed up, which again defeats the purpose of feeling like a detective. There's an aspect of deniablity to be had, an aspect in which you should never be totally sure of what's true, especially when a blind statue of Justice gets involved. What is very fun is getting to see both the sides of the Law and the Order. You gather evidence as a detective and then you end up using every single sentence or throw away line as evidence during the section as a DA. The only problem with the DA's section is that you're flat out given a scale showing who the jury sides with and you see it update in real time. What this means is that the Jury's decision is never a guess, you'll never lose to the defense because you'll perpetually be above the 100% percent of the jury agrees with you mark, plus you can replay any interview or witness scene for a higher score. Really, the only gameplay here is remembering what witnesses said, how to use it against them, and memorizing types of objections, but in doing that, Telltale has definately succeeded. What is a surprise about this game is that the first 3 levels are a tutorial and the last 4 have very few hints and leave you to your own devices. This would be quite intriguing indeed if you weren't still being told when you miss interview questions and when you fail in court. To be perfectly frank, Law and Order: Legacies is as casual and casual can get. What you do has little impact on the story and the game babysits you, then it says it stops holding your hand, only to tell your right from wrong on the spot. However, the stories are good, the characters are fun, the court sections are fun, and its satisfying to pull a Judge Dredd and constantly deliver the maximum penalty 7 Episodes Left 8 hours of materiel to play with an yet it felt much longer.

The game is a simple point and click. It's a decent game that is worth playing if you are a Law and Order fan. The trial part of the game where you take the role of the DA is really interesting. Overall the game is solid enough to where I think it's worth at least one playthrough. One playthrough is probably all you will do because choices have little to no effect on the game, unlike other TT games. Most of the effect takes place within the episode you play.

This is a really good game if you're a fan of the TV series like I am. The cases do require some memory retention of your conversations but nothing you can't handle since it also provides a transcript of everything you talk about. In addition to the standard point and click style there's on occasion a bit of a hidden object portion when you're looking for evidence. The detective portion is straight forward and pretty easy. The trials are slightly more of a challenge since you'll have to recognize legal terms that aren't always blatantly easy to spot. Although if you don't like the outcome of the case you can always replay that part until you get the result you want. Don't even have to replay it from the beginning. There's in game tutorial for the first 2-3 cases and then the game stops holding your hand and reminding you how to do things. The voice acting is good despite not having the original actors and the dialogue can sometimes be comical. Overall a good adventure game that pays homage to a great show. I only wish I could skip the end credits that play after each episode. I don't watch them during the show no reason I should have to sit through it for the game.

Very underrated Telltale game. It's like a reallife Phoenix Wright. You interrogate witnesses and call them out on their lies, The weakest part of the game is probably the the crime scene investigations where you need to circle interesting items but the items you find serve a purpose in the later investigation. In court you need to use lawyer terms like speculation, hearsay, argumentative which can be challenging in the beginning but I got used to it pretty quickly, they don't overload you with it at the beginning.

The good: Classic Tale Tale, when it comes to decison making. Not only do you solve the crimes, but you also take the crime you just solved to court and try to convince the jury. If you're into moral conflict and things like that, this is a good game Very informative and educational for people who aren't into the law or have no idea how supreme courts work The bad: The graphics arent great, and the audio timing seems to never be on point consistently Since the graphics arent great it's hard to go off of expressions for answers It's point and click through and through, i dont mind but some people may dislike.

This is a very underrated game by people in my opinion; if you've ever watched Law and Order, you'll find a lot of similarities in the game, from the characters to the plot to the music soundtrack. I went in expecting it to have similarities to the show, and it did not fail my expectation. For a game that's supposed to be "easy and short," I have played 5 episodes and I'm already at 7.7 hours when I had read some other reviews claiming it'd be an hour per episode. Although that could be true, I find myself taking longer than the expected time, because some parts you may choose to do over in order to get all of the points, or you could leave it to your original score. Personally, I replay some scenes, because you can quickly skip through the dialogue, and it does not take a lot of your time. I have yet to hit 3 out of 3 stars (how you are rated on each case), so I do plan to replay all of the episodes I have gone through at some point. This game is more of a point-and-click and memory retention game, hence why I say it is not easy (the memory retention part). The first two cases, you are reminded of what objections are, such as hearsay, argumentative and so on, but as you hit the third case that no longer happens, which means you have to remember all of the objections that were taught in the game, and you must pay attention to what everyone says in the game in order to disprove or approve of their comment. If you choose not to do that, you'll be marked down points and could possibly fail the case. I have not struck all of the wrong points on a case to be rendered to that menu, but I assume if I do, it says you fail and you will be able to replay the part. Someone mentioned this game being similar to Phoenix Wright, and it is, but not to a large degree. This game is a lot easier, and some of the answer options that are given to you are obviously wrong because the choice sounds ridiculous i.e. "Carl Jones is an officer and would never lie, because he is an officer." In addition a good part about this game is the moral choices of the game which are most prevalent by how you decide the fate of the defendant: will you cut the defendant some slack and give him only 1 year in jail, or put him in jail for 40 years where he will never have a chance to have probation? The choice is yours, however, keep in mind that you must be hitting a certain level of persuasion in order to have a bigger punishment, otherwise what you try to do will be rejected. In conclusion, I think this game is a lot of fun. If you are looking for a game that has a lot of movement and is action packed, this game is not for you. Basically when you download the game, you'll be questioning a lot of people, finding items at crime scenes by circling areas and objecting when you're in court, which is just reading through dialogue and just like the questioning, you'll identify a topic by clicking on it and then pointing out if it sounds flawed, or the person is lying to you. The cons I have are small like I cannot skip the opening scene, the credits, and the fact that this game is not getting a sequel saddens me.
