For a small game it was pretty popular when it came out, and it forever ruined my grammar of the word ballance, i mean balance. G*mers liked it for uncommon gameplay and solid design, while older people appreciated its simplicity. It's a puzzle-platformer where you navigate a ball through pinball-looking obstacles. Instead of being full-analogue it's a pretty discrete game most of the time, and the final level is entirely built around that fact. Your camera is rotated orthogonally and many of the level-design elements put you on direct tracks. Only the lightest paper ball wiggles around, the other two are smooth, so if you don't move them by yourself they are very capable of moving in a straight line when you are using orthogonal controls.
The early level-design is very fun, but the longer the game goes the more obtuse it becomes. With the last level going full Thy Flesh Consumed on you. These days you can just look up walk-throughs on YouTube, but back in the day — nuh-ah. Still, while i was a bit frustrated with the endgame, and the increasing length of the levels, a lot of which is purely artificial and not meaningful, it is a beatable game even by people like me — too old for this shit.
