Super cute and fun survivor horror game. Has a very old school feel to it, which I loved. Definitely play on a harder difficulty!

I really enjoyed this game!
It is a definite throw back to games I never played when I was younger. The survival horror elements are more of a feature, than the main part of the game. You can choose to ignore almost every enemy in the game. The puzzles were not complex, but enough to be engaging. I liked how the story is presented. You find clues as to what's going on, but nothing is really outright revealed until the end.
There are comical nods to retro survival horror games. Crow Country doesn't take itself seriously, but it doesn't go past the line of absurdity either.
Edit:
I played through the entire game with a controller. I have read other reviews that say it's difficult to play with a keyboard and mouse.

Great little entry level isometric survival horror game. The puzzles are just complex enough to give some challange and the combat is good for the most part. While aiming is a bit cumbersome, you can just choose to run away most of the time. While it's not really scary per say, the sound design is pretty effective and the story was solid enough. Really enjoyable game.
Also, fairly easy 100% and a enjoyable completion experiencve with no hard, grindy or unfair achievements. If you don't 100% the game in one run, you can unlock a special weapon and using that you will breeze through the game in 2 hours or so in a second playthrough for a easy S Rank.

A perfect survival horror experience- for both die-hard genre old heads, as well as for newcomers to survival horror games. I have been playing Resident Evil since the 90's, and Crow Country scratched an itchy tasty itch in me that I haven't felt for a long time. Expertly crafted from top to bottom.
The look of the game is exactly on-point and extremely charming to boot; looking like the early 3D pre-rendered backgrounds that you'd recognize from that era of gaming it's calling back to- but the magic comes when you find you can rotate the camera freely, and see that the the whole game is entirely 3D modeled in chunky smooth-rounded low-poly goodness. It's really charming & cute & gross & spooky all wrapped together. Every single area of the game is packed with so much detail and environmental storytelling lending clues as to what happened in this abandoned theme park and its dark past. The music is atmospheric and nostalgic-feeling; a fantastic classic horror game soundtrack. The combat feels slow-paced & deliberate for the genre, but not overly clunky by any means. The enemy designs are creepy, unique, and learning more about the various creatures as the game progresses leaves quite a terrifying impression to say the least.
The game's writing is superb; there's plenty of creepy moments, genuinely funny moments at other times; I loved the story and all the characters you encounter from start to finish. In my mind, Mara is now instantly among the greats of classic survival horror protags - she's such a well-developed character with a strong personality that'll easily hook you . The mystery of the story builds very effectively over the course of the game, and is very satisfying to uncover the depths of the game's accursed setting all the way to the end. I loved this game so much that I ran through the game a second time right after finishing it the first time (while also hunting down a few secrets and more bonus unlockables I didn't catch the first time).
My initial playthrough was on the Hard Mode ("Murder of Crows" difficulty), and that's the perfect challenge if you are a survival horror veteran. There's way less ammo & healing items, the enemies are more aggressive, and there's no puzzle hints to lean back on. This is the best way to play if you've gone through any classic Resident Evil or Silent Hill games: you will instinctively start conserving your resources & items, plotting out your routes between save rooms/objectives on the map, running & dodging around enemies to save ammo, and you'll be pulling up the found notes/files + looking around the environment to solve the puzzles like a pro. I highly recommend Hard Mode to make the game feel just like it would have if it released in the 90's. The puzzles are very clever and not overly frustrating, and make you feel like a champ when you piece them together. If you're not used to survival horror: play the normal difficulty mode to take advantage of a bit more modern gaming sensibilities, in regards to the amount of resources you'll scavenge as well as having access to some puzzle hints too if you get stuck.
Overall, one of the most fun & enjoyable horror games to get sucked into for a few gaming sessions (about 8-10 hours on your first playthrough). Take your time, appreciate the environments, immerse yourself in the thick atmosphere, start piecing the story together from found notes & your own observations.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time with this game, and I'm eagerly looking forward to whatever these developers are cooking up next.

A survival horror game with a cheeky atmosphere but a genuinely disturbing story deep down, and a few twists we don't often see in these types of games. (The origin of the monstrous threat is so cool; don't spoil it for yourself.) Combat works well. I recommend not doing the classic tank controls with this one, as it feels totally weird when manipulating such a squat character, and gets in the way while navigating the zoomed-out view. There's not a lot of difficult enemies, and ammo is thrown at you left and right. Moreover, you can restock your main gun at any time by going back to your little hatchback and opening the trunk.
I thought it was great; not terribly hard, but terribly interesting. I died in the first monster hallway and then never again. If horror tinged with silliness in a world of wacky mechanical contrivances and chonky toy people appeals to you, get it.
(There's always something deeply attractive to me about a game with this kind of simple physicality to it, one in which you feel like you could reach out and grab hold of things with your IRL meat-hands -- all the mechanical bits and simple characters with their clear articulation, you know. That goes back to the kid me, waving around He-Man figurines and building attack squads out of rubber turtles, I guess. The really really important stuff.)

A delightful blend of horror and cuteness that works perfectly. The deformed (and sometimes not even humanoid anymore) creature designs and the terrifying sounds of pure pain and agony emanating from them clash perfectly with the protagonist's witty and cute comments about the world around her, the theme park designs (I have to get one of those crow plushies), and a few secret details that make you smile (love you little mushroom boys, thanks for everything).
The market for classic RE clones is quite saturated, but although this game maintains the most classic aspects to the letter, with its puzzles spread throughout the map and key items to find to progress, they have managed to create a personality for this game of its own, making it unique and special. A great recommendation for anyone who enjoys these types of games. Now I'm off to see how much those plushies cost.
