Its decent. Split between dungeons/exploration, which are done generally well, and social-ish town stuff that tie into benefits for the dungeons/exploration, which is... not great in my opinion, but also not the real focus.
The dungeons are all over the place in quality, but I can say that they are at the very least engaging, though some, especially some of the ice ones, are genuinely great. The music, combat, and style also are pretty solid; and I could tell the devs had fun (so we could too)! It also has some nice gear/build customization that was interesting and somewhat unique.
The social aspects and most of the "gravitas" of the story, however, were pretty weak. The support characters just being... "there" more-or-less, and my only real desire for interacting with them was for their bonuses, and I didn't bother with half of them because of that (though the sunglasses guy was ok in my book). The story makes sense but the character art/dialogue/animation often failed to capture a feeling of emotion or drama, often seeming stilted; though there were some stand out moments.
The MC is functional, though she suffers from "protagonist saving the day and just generally solving every problem by existing" syndrome, which is also fine, but not very interesting either.
Also, the game might have benefited from a few less dungeons, maybe longer ones, I dunno, it just felt like it was dragging for the 2nd 3rd of the game, in-between story beats.
All that said, I can say it was a decent 20ish hours, and I turned into a friggin blender for the baddies by stacking phys and AC dmg (those butterflies hit like a truck). Its a solid game that I am glad I got to play.

Really cozy game. Simple mechanics but relaxing and fun. Go round the town, make friends, do side quests, kill some little squishy monsters, and live your best life.
It would be nice if some of the hard areas were a bit more doable when you're low level for a challenge - but that's ok. This isn't Elden Ring and that's ok :)

Definitely worth it on sale. Game can get pretty repetitive, but has enough charm in its story and execution to make it a worthwhile purchase/playthrough. 8/10

An instant favorite. I cannot explain how underrated this game is. I love everything about this game. The graphics are gorgeous, the story is intriguing and kept me interested, and the game play itself is addictive. I loved meeting everyone in Hinterberg and learning about them and why they are there. And the fights were just challenging enough that I never felt overwhelmed by them, but still accomplished after. So well balanced.
I could go on forever, but it really is a fantastic game.

I started this game just expecting a fun Zelda-like, but got so much more.
It's a lot of fun to explore the village and get to know the characters - even the ones I found ridiculous and annoying grew on me over time thanks to the concise and clever writing, all well balanced with fun dungeons and very solid RPG mechanics. On top of that, the main story moves at a steady pace with surprisingly deep commentary on the tourism industry.
Loved it a lot!

I've near 100% this game, got all the relationship bonuses, secrets, etc. I Enjoyed my stay in Hinterberg. What you need to know going in is that the game wants you to take treat it like a vacation, enjoy it, don't rush, you're not going to see and loot everything in 1 week, there is a pace behind it's story you can't really break away from.
TL;DR: I think this game's biggest strength is it's writing, music and art style. You will come to love the characters because they're were written very authentically and are fun to familiarize yourself with. If that's enough for you, I recommend you go and buy it.
Some people point out the more rocky and tougher bits of this game are the actual gameplay. This game's central mechanics sort of run into conflict with the pacing of the story. I believe the intended path they want for you to take through the game is to speak to a few people, and get their bonuses to get stronger, but only dive deep into a few relationships. I played on tough mode, the hardest difficulty, and I had no problem getting through the game's more difficult challenges in the intended pace of the game. If you want to get to know everyone and complete all of the relationships, your stay at Hinterberg might be bloated from somewhere around 30 something in-game days to nearly 70. Granted this game has very little grinding. Loot or anything of that sort is mostly hidden in chest's around the map. You'll just skip a large portion of your weeks in Hinterberg to go right back to town to talk to people. Still, I think there is a large, missed opportunity with the game's own dictated pacing. I think the system should have been fleshed out a little bit more, because the way it is realized in the game feels like it's actually working against itself.
That said, there are many valuable and thought provoking moments in this game. The writing of the game is quite enjoyable. Advancing my relationship with all of the characters, the message behind what it means to travel, and the fleeting feeling of meeting people you might not see again is very sweet and thoroughly thought about. The central conflict of the game is tied into the narrative nicely, and I did want to stay in Hinterberg and explore it to it's fullest the whole time (otherwise I wouldn't have bothered). The music really captures the sense of getting lost in a beautiful vacation spot, and the whimsical sense of going on an rpg adventure. This game took me 30 hours to beat, (take away about 3-5 as I would often leave this game running while doing other things.) it has a NG+ mode that lets you keep pretty much everything, including your current relationship progress with other people, (You can reset this if you want).
PS: there is no romance so don't worry about who you're hanging out with on that front. No accidentally romancing Gale of Waterdeep here.

The combat is a little too easy and you can clear the dungeons way faster than you can max out social connections, but overall a fun game! Loved the art of the different stages and the interactions with various characters.

What a surprise!!
Its a neat little niche game. Took me a about 5h+-.
Combat kinda feels unpolished but still a great game to enjoy.
Con:
- really repetitive gameplay
- any puzzle can be figured out in under 5 seconds
Pro:
- the setting and the Idea of the game are great!
- really enjoyed talking with the different Charakters, learning different backstorys
- some really good ideas of gameplay

I wasn’t sure about this one at first since the gameplay and puzzles both seemed a bit clunky, bit I persisted and it grew on me.
The gameplay is fairly simple: every day you explore one of the 4 scenic locations, and then pick one of the dungeons to complete. In the evening you hang around in the town, where you can choose a person to hang out with for the evening and get a bit of story, plus unlock more perks as you go.
Each location has its own pair of spells which are used both for the puzzles and for combat. The puzzles start off quite simple but I thought a lot of the dungeons were very cleverly designed, with the puzzled fitting together very well. It’s obvious from both the scenery and the puzzles that a lot of effort went into the design of this game.
You can also decide to take a day off from dungeoning and find a relaxing scenic spot, but I am obsessed with efficiency so I never did that (and I stayed up late every single night without fail).
I found the combat a bit too easy though; I tried to make it as challenging as possible by always completing the hardest dungeon available, as well as challenging the three-monster-head signs around the different areas. While I had level 4 gear, no attack conduits, and the enemies could one hit kill me, this was pretty challenging and I had to learn attack patterns — but after that point the combat was never difficult again. Dungeons which said “you probably won’t be able to finish this dungeon” were still trivially easy.
I also found I was getting bored by the end of the game and rushing through the last few dungeons, but again I am too efficient; every day I tended to clear the entire region I visited for all the monster parts and elements I could get, which got quite grindy. Despite that I never finished the last stage of the monster club quest though, so that’s a bit of a grind.
Finally, you spend so long climbing ladders in this game that I must have sung “Snake Eater” from Metal Gear Solid 3 all the way through about 15 times while playing.
tl;dr = fun puzzles, set it on hard mode.
