Jusant is a game with great promise that only lives up to part of its potential. It has fun climbing mechanics that has depth and added mechanics based on the chapter, but it doesn't culminate into using those different chapter mechanics together in any way. It abandons every new mechanic with each chapter. I wanted a little more from the actual gameplay but the base and unique chapter mechanics were enough to keep me going. The world itself is beautiful and visually interesting with unique cultures, architecture, and landscapes. I would play an entirely different game in this world. Your little companion is also really adorable and helpful. If you play Jusant you'll enjoy it. Just don't expect too much depth.

A heartfelt story told through well done environmental storytelling. The climbing is simple and intuitive. Had no performance issues. A fun, chill time.

The story is really engaging and it felt nice to play something that had no combat at all for a change :)

Very nice art direction, and cool world building. The exploration and climbing mechanics both feel rewarding.
On the downside, the game is a little short, and the end feels somewhat rushed.
Overall an interesting game to play though.

Jusant is a small, atmospheric climbing game where the visuals and art truly shine. The lighting, enhanced by ray tracing, is both beautiful and realistic.
The gameplay is minimalistic, but the climbing mechanics are still fun for the short time you spend with the game. Don’t expect a particularly long—or even medium-length—journey. I finished the main story in about 3.5 hours, and it took me 6.5 hours to earn all the achievements.
The story is told through letters you discover along the way, which give your imagination enough to piece together the world’s past. However, you’ll never see actual cutscenes or direct storytelling.
I recommend Jusant if it’s on sale (I got it for €11), especially if you're hyped for a short, atmospheric experience that stands out thanks to its stunning lighting.
I can see the potential of this game if they'd added more on top of the base climbing mechanics, but almost all of the game is just climbing, and then a brief plateau where you collect letters and do some world building, and then followed by more climbing, rinse and repeat.
I think the actual climbing mechanics are quite fun, especially towards the end when you are placed in a more dangerous setting, but the overall game design direction to make this a "relaxed" game kinda limited what kinds of obstacles the devs could put in. I wish the game had puzzles to solve or obstacles that encouraged dodging but alas.
Ultimately Jusant is a walking sim. A mechanically fulfilling and interesting walking sim, but a walking sim all the same.

Jusant is a very good and atmospheric climbing game with significant gameplay and environment variety.
+ Left and right trigger hand-grab climbing mechanic
+ Fair stamina system
+ Good atmosphere, rich environment
* Playthrough 4.5 hours (2/3 of it I deliberately explored around the main path)
* Linear progression path (no autonomous route decisions or alternatives)
* Regular side-routes to explore (environment, environmental and inhabitant history, letters, artifacts; collect-achievements)
- Occasional environment/movement glitches (you can get stuck)
- Occasionally hard to find the path to progress
At times I got stuck. Once, I was hanging on my rope without being able to climb up nor down to a recoverable state. Once, I got stuck in a close-to-wall walk, I assume because of the camera angle and control mechanism. Once or twice, I got stuck on geometry. Occasionally, I got semi-stuck on geometry but could recover. Getting stuck on geometry only happened while walking, never while climbing. Regularly, especially the first half of the game, I got stuck not seeing where to progress. After closing the game, the next time I played, I was always able to find my way through and was able to progress. The path to progression is not always obvious or consistent. Some require specific interactions, not obviously placed or visualized, and others specific invisible position triggers which are not inherently or specifically obvious.

It's very refreshing to break away from games that have things trying to kill you and play something a little more meditative.
This game was fun for me. The i played the more I wanted to know what was on top if this gigantic tower.
Was not difficult though at times it was a little challenging. But for what it is, it was great.
My only question to the developers is....How the @#@! do you get back down?
