20 MINUTES TILL DAWN is a traditional survivors-like bullet heaven game with a beautiful aesthetic. It focuses on red, green and white whilst sacrificing visual and gameplay clarity. This does save the player's eyes but ultimately ends up in a few frustrating situations where it is almost impossible to distinguish player projectiles from enemies within all the chaos. 20 Minutes Till Dawn is the very definition of a "casual" survivors game if there ever was one. Characters feel uniquely powerful even if you do not focus on what is optimal for them, and all builds feel viable even at the highest difficulties. The more straightforward nature of this game will leave you wanting a lot more if you're seeking a challenge or deeper thinking. Most meta upgrades are overshadowed by another, even if you consider forcing a specific build. On the topic of builds, this game does lack variety as it is incredibly effortless to force any builds you want. Most runs, because of this, will feel extremely similar and lack the unique experiences of a rogue-like, where a run will have everything lined up and end up very strong. Gameplay mechanics are easy to understand, but with the lack of advanced tool-tips, some concepts may leave players with a few questions. Synergies in this game are far harder to come by than others of the genre, but they are less impactful or necessary in builds, even at Darkness 15. It's an excellent bullet heaven game that doesn't break the players back by forcing them to study textbooks on each interaction and mechanic. Overall, this game feels like it is in a complete state with little to no modifications needed.
PROS:
- Beautiful style that is easy for long sessions
- Simple to understand boon system
- Both unique characters and weapons
- Runs great even with the laggiest of builds
- Easy to pick up
CONS:
- Low replay value
- Short game, but expected for the price tag
- Lacklustre meta progression
Very fun for a week or two, and you will likely not get bored in the time it takes to do everything in this game.

I ran this game on my pc from around 2017-ish, bad frame drops is something that constantly occurs when in fullscreen mode to the point where it seems like its just very laggy, not unplayable but i did get a headache from trying to have the full 20 minute runs. minimized screen did work but it was a little small for me to comfortably play and see and un-adjustable :/ sad to refund as i did really enjoy the gameplay but the frame dropping is too much. I reccomend this game heavily if youre on a newer gen PC or one that wont experience the drops as badly as i did, but if your computer is on the older side maybe hold off, optimize this game PLEASE.

Incredibly fun bullet heaven, great artstyle too. I swear to god there's a mechanic that reads your mind and refuses to give you the upgrades you want though,

Of the perhaps 2 dozen bullet heaven games I've played this one I feel has the hardest difficulty in terms of surviving to the end, especially if I don't get a good synergy with the weapon, In this one you have characters with a unique ability, and get to choose from a handful of weapons shared between all the characters, also upgrades you can purchase to persist between runs to add the rougeliteness.
Very simple visuals with it being mostly black and white, the feel of powerscale is very subdued in this one but if you want a more challenging bullet heaven this is a nice one.

This game is great. It really takes the "slow ramp into insane scaling" to the max. By the end of the level, you will be doing some crazy stuff. Plus, it's a quick play. Like the name says, each round is only 20 minutes, so it's easy to hop in and out.

As an enjoyer of roguelike games, this was a quick pick-me up game that offered interesting, yet not too complicated synergies between Characters, Weapons and Synergies (the powers you choose as you level up during each run). I enjoyed the straightforwardness of the upgrades you pick, and how they have a pretty well defined identity with some options to bridge an upgrade type with sources of damage of a different type. I didn't care too much about the different stages and spent most of my time in the first one. Altogether, this was a fun game and true to roguelikes with some broken (almost game-breaking) set-ups and cursed runs that reflect your poor luck of the moment.
On a quick note, for someone prone to migraines, playing this almost 100% monochrome game was greatly appreciated. The only thing that was somewhat visually bothersome was some of the ⚡️lightning ⚡️effects that can be a bit flashy at first when you choose them. However, if you reach far enough in your run, the frequency of the ⚡️ lightning effects becomes more permanently activated and so felt much less flashy for me. Across the whole game, there are no full-screen flashes, nor any "low-hp warning" red flashing at the borders.
Lastly, as a personal challenge, I decided to "lock" away my use of a Character (& Weapon when possible) after the completion of each level of difficulty of the game. Each Character and each Weapon individually keeps a "score" of the highest difficulty achieved, so it was easy to keep track of which ones had already been used. After all of them had been used once, I then proceeded to cycle back to the lowest difficulty scored Character/Weapon. Upon reaching the final difficulty, I then decided to complete it with every other Character, following the same rule choosing the Character with the lowest difficulty score achieved. Admittedly, I was a bit more flexible with my Weapon choices throughout my playthrough, especially towards the end because I wanted both the final Character and the final Weapon to succeed on the final difficulty at the same time. I had fun challenging myself this way, because it forced me to adapt my Synergy choices based on the selected Character + Weapon, and it was a fun way to keep things fresh, by cycling between the changing available roster. After going through all of that, reaching 100% completion for the remaining achievements was only a couple runs away :)
In fact, I am happy to have completed all achievements for the first time on a game, and I enjoyed doing so with this one! I felt like the requirements for the achievements were fair and accessible, especially compared to other achievements in games that require an absurd amount of skill & luck with a perfect run in the most difficult mode/circumstances. I do believe that a good stopping point for playing this game might be felt sooner for other players, like simply beating the highest difficulty of the game, or doing so with the characters you prefer, without going for all the achievements. Still, for its price, and the time of entertainment provided, I believe playing this game remains a worthwhile experience for those willing to learn how to survive through 20 minutes Till Dawn.

Great, needs skill opacity option though and autoshoot. There's autoaim but having to hold left click the entire 20-30 is weird.
