So the game has its pros and cons.
The horses have pretty decent animations, a few breed options, the environment is pretty, and the game runs well. I can easily run it on the high setting with no lag and my laptop fans aren't blasting (I am on an Acer Nitro 5 for reference). The start of the tutorial is pretty thorough and makes sense, but then it sort of just stops before I felt it should have. I had to figure out where the next thing was to prompt a tutorial for that part.
Your horse is also horrendously slow in the beginning and can only sprint for a few seconds at a time with a several second cooldown. The gallop animation looks like its in slow motion due to how slow it is. I also found the camera is way too sensitive and moves way too much for just a slight mouse movement which can be nauseating.
Another important thing to note is the grind. My god, it just feels like grinding to train your horse from the moment you start and there is so many small barriers that just make it annoying. There is your horse's workload, and you can't make it too high, but it gets high from only a few things. If you want to bring it back down, you have to end the day and start a new day. But doing that means feeding and grooming and building trust again, and overtime your horse's stats go down, etc etc. I can only either train on most of the courses but not all of them, or do one competition and a few trainings before the workload is really high. Not to mention, the game limits you to one competition per in game day. Granted you can end the day and start a new one at anytime, but its still annoying.
I just felt frustrated because my horse is so slow and I can only do like 10 minutes of play before I have to end the day again.
If you don't mind a game that is just caring for your horse, training it, and doing one competition per day cycle, and rinse and repeat, then this is the game for you. But if not, this might not be the right one. I think I'll likely play it through, but I get bored of it after about 30-45 minutes so it will probably take me awhile.
It is also not worth its original price, so I'd wait for a sale. I am rating it as I do recommend it, as the game runs well and it is what it says it is and is honestly a nice improvement from what I usually see, even if it still is missing a lot.

Overall I like the game. The map is significant, and I like the art style they are going for here. This isn't the game for people who like a deep story, because there isn't a story there to begin with. But for people like me, that want a relaxing, fun horse game, it's spot on. I wish there were more to the game tho, like breeding and a reason to have more than one horse. The competitions are variable, which is nice. However, the show jumping part of this game is so wonky, you can get a perfect jump when you obviously jump through the pole or fail when you are nowhere near hitting the pole. The camera struggles to keep up in some of the competitions as well, but overall the steering and camera issue is manageable. It's one of the better horse games out there, but it's certainly not the best. I would recommend getting it at a sale tho, it's not worth the full price.
