I'm playing this in 2025 with my husband and we've been having a great time and really enjoying the game. I think the issues people are having with crashes are due to OneDrive which is now default on all Windows computers. Uninstall it before you ever install and try to play this game and I don't think you'll have any issues. I haven't had a single crash. My husband did before he uninstalled One Drive and he lost character he created, but no issues since removing the program entirely.
I might even prefer this in some ways to MHW, the combat is really enjoyable. You have a max party size of 3, which I kind of miss being able to go up to 4, but the graphics, combat, and overall story in the game make up for the few things I miss. It's really easy to join someone's game.
EA isn't great, but I picked this game up for 11$ each and I don't regret it. Now knowing how much fun I'm having I think I'd be fine with a higher price even. BUT ABSOLUTELY UNINSTALL ONE DRIVE FROM THE ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS LIST! Any game could have this issue. I don't know if it's something the developer can fix since it's One Drive causing everyone's games to crash/lose progress/not load.

"Good Game When It Works, Bad Game When It Doesn't"
In terms of Monster Hunter clones this one is probably one of the best out there, the combat is fun with a good amount of weapon choice, long weapon trees, great character customization and the Karakuri was a really cool idea, being able to make things to help in a fight is a huge boon, and being able to put permanent useful Karakuri around the map helps a lot.
Unfortunately though the game suffers from performance issues "You will lag regardless of hardware" due to bad optimization, coding, engine or just DRM of EA's launcher who knows and bugs such as texture pop in, dodging not registering when it should etc. I didn't have any of the freezing issues others seem to have.
I truly wish EA would have given this game a bit more time and fixed it up properly, but EA is gonna be EA and they seem to have just given up on it which is truly a shame, maybe the issues just weren't fixable or EA just refused to support them long enough to fix it who really knows but if you can get it to work and learn to live with the lag it is quite a fun game.
I'm gonna give the game a Recommend simply because it truly is a good game just marred by performance issues and a frustrating publisher, but take that for what you will, just get the game when it's on a steep discount sale if you truly want to try it. Up.. To.. You, and i'll leave it at that. (^_−)

So. It's on sale, and i decided to go for it.
What the heck EA? This is REALLY good. The combat is meaty and the crafting and build system is really, really cool. This could have gone far if EA hadn't shelved it instead of fixing it.
Oh wait that's what EA do with any launch that doesn't go stellar.
I hope the devs return to this, or better yet - EA sells the IP to the devs and they can make a sequal without EA.
Get it on sale. It REALLY is fun.

Game alright, but what turn me off is really bad optimization, game wouldn't use more then 40% usage of my GPU, game trying to focus heavy using only 3, or 4 threads on my CPU, and there stutters.
I tired everything from checking guides for fixes, lowering settings, and everything, even limit FPS to 60, but it's clear the game will not sit stable as it just jumps between 35 ~ 60 fps, and when action happens stutter happen, and fps jumping all over the place. Checking more seem many people have this problem either put up with the issue, or calls it quit, and this hasn't been resolved since 2023 two years after release which I find that a bad sign if they're not going to fix these issues.
When I 1st launch the game I didn't even knew of these problems, set to 120 fps lock, high settings, DLSS, but when I got in game look blurry, was confused, double check settings, even restarted game, as soon I turn off upscale blur went away. I notice how my FPS doesn't go above 60 at all despite cap fps 120 make no sense, check my usage that how I found out barely using my GPU at all, just made no sense. I look online someone talk about reducing stutter problem, and it MAKES NO SENSE when change your AUDIO settings to headphones 7.1/5.1 which doesn't explain why that helps reduce game stutters.
So overall I just couldn't, I wanted enjoy this game, just wish they fix these problems, if they ever fix this game I be happy to pick this up again, but otherwise I'm refunding this game.

The games pretty fun and the monster variety is nice, however the optimization and performance are so poor I can't recommend the game. If the devs put in the effort to fix the performance issues I'm sure the ratings would be mostly positive, unfortunately due to a mixture of abandonment and EA's poor development/publication practices I don't think this will ever be fixed.

So, Wild hearts is extremely fun. Best Monster Hunter-like I've ever played and at times reminds me of Dauntless in its peak but better. This game is HOWEVER not worth the 70$ price tag. I bought it on sale for like 30$ and that seems like a great price point for how the game is at the moment. EA has pulled support which does leave a sour taste in my mouth and there is one major bug where one drive will annihilate your game if you try to save and crash it. This has to be dealt with by deleting one drive altogether (something my friend had to do). This game however still makes me sad as it doesn't run the worst and while it could be better it never got the chance to. It's still a worthwhile play for like 35$ and below.
