Although this is perhaps my least favourite of the Pixel Pulps series of games, it’s got an engaging story (albeit with a less compelling narrative structure), wondrous pixel art (with their trademark use of colour to help create meanings, tones and atmosphere) and top-notch genre writing. It’s told from a single character’s point of view, which didn’t work quite as well as the multiple points of view used in the other games, and the characterisation, plot and pacing felt just a little bit flatter. However, if this were the first of these games I’d played I’d certainly be seeking out the others, so it’s still a recommend from me. [My playtime is closer to three hours, played on a plane with unreliable wi-fi].

The outstanding and alluring pixel art-style is what draws me to purchase it. But as soon as I started playing it, the story and the way the game expressed this short story is even more fascinating.
Large areas of red and purple pixels create a depressing and mysterious atmosphere, which perfectly fit with the storyline. And it's also interesting that this game used concise text to create many characters with distinct personalities.
ps: also giving me some sort of Pulp Fiction feel.
