Bought this game during Early Release. Very interesting souls like game from a tiny indie team. Clearly a lot of care and attention went into the details. The gameplay and controls were fluid. Combat animations were cool and varied for each weapon. Creature design is also interesting. That giant in the mountains .. like whut?!. Looking forward to exploring more of it.

Sinderfury is set in a dark fantasy atmosphere with dungeons to crawl through and bosses to die to. If you like ARPG's and have a couple buddies to play with, I see little to no reason not to try this game out! Coming from the dark souls series I especially appreciate the combat style: The attacks feel meaty, but unlike in the souls games you never get stun locked by enemies. The balance between different weapon classes make the choice of one over the other situational, while still allowing favourite weapons to be viable. I have played a fair amount of monster hunter in the past, and I was frustrated by its complicated crafting system, upgrading my gear always had me spend time not doing what I wanted to do the most: Beating the crap out of monsters. Sinderfury's combat is very close to monster hunter, but its progression is surprisingly simple in comparaison. This simplicity is what most of my favourite games share. It doesn't push overly complicated systems in your way, but still presents different ways to make your enemies bleed. Another awesome thing about this game has got to be the soundtrack and voice acting. For this game's scale, this criteria is incredibly strong: The voice acting is clean and fitting with the theme/environment, reminding me of Diablo 4. Meanwhile the music is well crafted, especially in boss fights that light up in intensity to make the enemy more intimidating. As of this review, I have solely been playing the early access version of the game, and thus of course I ran into bugs, but hear me out: - Game-breaking bugs are absent: not once was I ever stuck, nor did I ever die or lose equipment for an unfair reason. - The majority of glitches I ran into I wouldn't have discovered if I had not been actively trying to find them and report them. I consider the overall quality and polish of this game to be totally playable, my only gripe being with the clunky inventory system. Apart from that tiny pet peeve, this game packs quite a bit of fun for $10, and if it isn't your cup of tea, you can always refund!

My friend and I just completed the final level of the game. My opinion is that this game is not good. Starting with the good: The game looks cool most of the time. The enemies look good, the bosses look cool, the weapons, levels and atmosphere is fine. Where gameplay is concerned the only levels that we found ourselves enjoying were the first two, everything after that was not fun at all. The length of the game works well with the levels given, it didn't overstay its welcome but it had enough to feel satisfied when completed. No level goes reused which creates good variance while playing. The time limit system on each level also encourages players to go back and replay the levels for better rewards. It eases the grind of replaying levels to level up characters. The not so good: After the first two levels the combat becomes tedious as the monsters have large amounts of HP and, for most of them, have one attack they will use when they get close enough to you. Most of the combat consists of the player clicking the left mouse button until the monsters are dead, with a heal or an AOE attack sprinkled in. But running primarily melee is not much of an option as dozens of monsters will surround the player and stop them from moving. During my playthrough I used a bow and did my best to keep my fiend alive. The bosses much like the enemies often have an absurd amount of health and attacks are not telegraphed well. Which would not be much of a problem if enemies were not constantly spawning during boss fights. Most bossfight were me running away from the enemies then getting a couple shots off at the boss then repeating. If you killed the enemies during the bossfight they just respawn making each fight an exhausting endeavor. The level design is not fun to run through as I often came across a keyhole that needed a key, and most of the time this meant walking around a mostly empty map to find the key placed on a random table in some small town. Each level after the first two took about an hour to complete, about 75% of this time was spent running around killing the never ending enemies while the remaining percent was spent on the aforementioned boss fights. The combat is janky and there is not much depth with the skill trees as they are all composed of four perks with no split options to choose from. I never found myself using rage and stamina was useless after a certain point. The player’s level also seemed not to matter, my character was at level 37 and I was consistently finding gear that was level 8 and only did a small amount of damage more. I cannot recommend people play the game in its current state, but I can tell the developers put a lot of time and passion into the game. I hope the developers can take what they learned from designing Sinderfury to make the next game they design leagues better.

The trailer is well made, but that's as far as the effort has gone. There isn't much choice for weapons/ skills, there's no point in upgrading rage or stamina, the levels are poorly designed, combat is clunky and requires no thought, you can soft lock yourself during the tutorial, and more. I found how bad this game was at first amusing, but in the end, it's still bad. Only thing this game has that's a positive, is number go up.

Not the greatest experience for me, the levels are extremely long and the mobs constantly spawning turns it from a challenging experience, into a painful button masher. It has great potential but it needs work.

The game's starting environment is a bunch of cobbled-together assets with some randomly scattered lore items to read. I walked 20 meters or something down a pathway leading directly out of the game's starting 'central hub', turned to explore a gap in the walls only to find out this was an unintentional trap. With no way to unstuck myself I had to restart the game. When I started the first mission of the game I was not impressed at all with the interaction of my attacks and the handful of mobs I needed to fight. The first boss fight is very underwhelming and his arena is way too large. It doesn't look or play as well as the trailer would lead you to believe

positive reviews are mainly from private profiles and don't give any substantial details on the actual game itself. the only other negative review from Justin acknowledges a lot of the same issues I have with this game. misleading thumbnails that are NOT the same UI as the actual game along with a "settings" menu that has one volume slider? game is clunky, misguided, no particular sense of direction, and suffers from tons of weird mechanical decisions and fundamental gameplay elements (enemies attack and hit within a 10 frame span that makes melee weapons virtually unusable without hit trading all the time). super confused on what i even bought.

At the time of writing this, I'm confused as to how this game has only positive reviews. Trailer presentation: The UI does not match what is seen in the trailers, even slightly. In addition, there are significantly more classes presented in the trailers than are actually available in the game, and the skill trees actually seem fairly fleshed out a glance, but in game, there are only four skills per class. It's very clunky and stuff just kind of feels all over the place. Things feel very heavy as a result of being locked into long animations when you do anything which makes faster weapons, especially ranged weapons, superior to everything else. The Hammer is the only one-handed weapon in the game, even though when wielding a mace or sword you only swing with one hand. You're still locked out of equipping a shield. There's no way to purchase weapons in the base, you can purchase any type of armor you want, but not weapons for some reason. Several enemies completely knock you down when they hit you, and they attack very fast which completely eliminates the ability to use melee weapons without a shield, as they prevent you from being able to act. The inventory is far too small: Within the first 5 minutes of entering a mission, you will have every inventory slot filled with purple items, but you will likely need to spend another 25 minutes completing the mission as there is no direction or guidance on where to go to proceed to your next step of the mission. Lack of guidance: There is no map and no clear indicator of where you need to go when working on a quest. You enter the dungeon and either you know where you need to go, or you spend an extremely long time trying to find your way around. In particular, the Zodd mission has a main chamber that requires 3 keys to pass a locked door. We spent 45 minutes looking for the first key in the first door we checked and eventually gave up. We found all three keys in other sections of the dungeon. That section was completely pointless aside from exploration and looting, and when the mission ratings are strictly based on speed of completion, that's a hard sell. Simplified options: There are very few options available to change. Even the audio is only a single slider for "Master Audio" that seems to reset every time you change it. I had to turn my audio down using my PCs volume mixer as the sounds of hitting monsters is extremely loud compared to the rest of the sounds in the game. This game actually has the potential to be a lot of fun with a group of friends, but has a lot of mechanical issues preventing it from being in a playable state at the moment. I understand it is early access, but I genuinely feel like I paid for a completely different game than what I ended up playing.
