This game is just the right mix of genuine story telling mixed in with funny character moments, while also genuinely giving you the creeps and making you feel unsafe constantly. The story is easy to follow and they twists that come with it do feel very much because of your own actions Only downside is now I want more games in this style and have no idea where to find it.

A Mind-Blowing Experience Beyond Imagination I went into Killer Frequency expecting an interesting concept, but what I got was so much more—it completely exceeded my expectations in every way. This game is an absolute masterpiece, blending immersive storytelling, unique gameplay mechanics, and a setting that feels like it was made just for me. I genuinely cannot believe a game like this exists; it’s something I’ve always wanted to experience but never thought I actually would. The premise alone is insane. Playing as a late-night radio DJ in the 1980s, taking calls from people being hunted by a serial killer, and guiding them to safety? It’s beyond brilliant. The combination of high-stakes decision-making, live radio segments, and puzzle-solving creates an adrenaline rush unlike anything I’ve played before. Every call feels like life or death, and the weight of each choice is palpable. The game keeps you on your toes, forcing you to think fast while maintaining that smooth, charismatic DJ persona. What really pushed Killer Frequency into masterpiece territory for me is how well it executes its vision. The voice acting is phenomenal, the atmosphere is dripping with retro horror vibes, and the way the game builds tension is masterful. One moment you’re vibing to 80s tracks, the next you’re frantically flipping through notes, trying to find a way to save someone from their impending doom. It’s a blend of horror, comedy, and interactive storytelling that works far better than I could have imagined. This game isn’t just fun—it’s an experience. It’s the kind of thing I’ve dreamed about, an idea so creative and so perfectly executed that I still can’t believe it’s real. If you’ve ever wanted to feel like the star of a slasher movie while running a radio show, Killer Frequency is a must-play. It’s pure brilliance, and I’ll be thinking about it for a long, long time.

Most dialogue options do not change the story. The illusion of option is unfortunately very real... Disappointed...................

Killer Frequency cleverly utilizes the power of audio to create a truly immersive experience. Despite the complete absence of rendered faces, the distinct and memorable voice acting allowed me to vividly imagine each character, much like reading a novel. This reliance on audio, rather than visual representation, actually enhanced my engagement with the story. I really think this makes the game easy to run on any PC, and I completed the game on my Steam Deck, which looked phenomenal! The colors really pop on my OLED model. The voice acting is exceptional and serves as the game's backbone, carrying the narrative with compelling performances. The tense decision-making moments were particularly effective, creating a genuine sense of urgency and consequence. While experienced puzzle solvers might find the challenges relatively straightforward, the game's strength lies in its ability to build tension and emotional investment. I found myself deeply invested in the characters' fates, and the weight of my choices was palpable. When a character died due to my mistakes, I felt compelled to reload and try again, a testament to how emotionally involved I became. I just wanted everyone to live! Killer Frequency demonstrates the power of sound design and compelling voice acting to create a memorable and impactful gaming experience. It's a testament to the fact that visual fidelity isn't always necessary for immersion, and that emotional connection can be forged through well-crafted audio.

So far i'm having an amazing time with Killer Frequency- the art, gameplay, story, sound design, music, all of it is incredibly good and I absolutely love the retro theme going on surrounding the game. It'd be sick to have merch of this, actual vinyls from the game, stuff like that. Overall, really impressed with it so far

I liked Firewatch, so my issue isn't with the dialogue heavy interactive novel style of games. My issue is that it's not particularly interesting, and I don't find it very funny either. Just feels like redditor humor going for easy points for 80s nostalgia. Not for me.

Really fun! The majority of the game has great pacing, and the general polish and toys to play with while swapping tunes and taking calls is a nice touch for immersing myself more into the role. It took a second for me to get into the narrative since the chemistry and performance of the player character and their producer is a bit stiff at first, but buying into the tongue-in-cheek nature and tone was easy enough once the the game properly picked up. The puzzles themselves aren't brain bending or anything, but satisfying nonetheless. The trickier aspects for some decisions to make also come in passing comments or understated bits of information laying around to piece together properly, so staying sharp throughout the whole show is rewarded. I do wish there was more to do with the map board and physical objects to relay information with through the logic puzzles, because they're my favorite by far. I will say that being a completionist can be a bit annoying, with most players probably needing at least 3 playthroughs to wrap up the achievements. It'll require two playthroughs minimum, but unless you manage to play perfectly to either save or kill everyone the first time you play basically, it'll likely be 3 or more. Though save scumming is entirely possible and easy even, the game itself being as linear and filled with dialogue means that fully completing any one run will have you standing in place minutes at a time for several hours, waiting out story you already know and going through the motions. Not a big deal, just irritating. I barely have nitpicks about anything else, though. More music, more ads, more callers, more information gathering would all be good, but I'm also glad that the game nails most everything and doesn't overstay its welcome. Big recommend!

A solid narrative-driven game. The story is generic, I mean it is kinda aimed towards retro slashers anyway so it's expected to be similar to other stories, but they still have some shocking twists you wouldn't expect so it still works. I appreciate the unique playstyle, dealing with the phone lines while playing tracks, ads, and of course, choosing what you say on the mic. While having all this freedom and creativity is cool, it still felt like most of the choices made were unimpactful, you could save the callers and maybe experience a call back on the show or extra info but if they died the radio workers would seem sad for a few seconds then go back to making their jokes, and the dead victims wouldn't be mentioned later on either, so it just makes half the characters we're trying to save feel meaningless. The horror is also minimal, jumped once because of a loud bang but that's about it. If anything the game's aesthetic and tracks make you feel relaxed, which I guess isn't a bad thing it was just unexpected. Still, overall it's a pretty chill short horror game that I would recommend.
