Would absolutely recommend this gem of a game for horror / puzzle / mystery adventurers! I fell in love with this game when playing the demo back when it came out. So I guess I'm a little biased because of that in this review! BUT. I will say, the game surprised me in so many ways going through it. The ambiance and music is truly immersive and gorgeous in many ways. I at times got a little stuck and lost, puzzles are complex and challenging in many ways. But I soon realized there is also a hint option you can turn on in the settings. Very helpful! And I like that there is an option for it. Like this game will tell you in the beginning - "it doesn't hold your hand" - and I'm glad it's not, because of all the exploring and findings you will get out of it. Lempo is amazing to me, even though there was still more I could have done in my first play-though. Things I missed or didn't collect. So I'm happy that I can go back into it and see those things for the first time. This game made my mind tumble into thought. It is scary and sad, but all so beautifully crafted.

Practically unplayable for me. I can get stable framerate (and frametime) only if I set the game to windowed mode at 1080p. Even using 1080p but fullscreen results in max of 30FPS, but even those 30FPS are extremely choppy making everything feel laggy as hell, which gets worse when I move around, because walking speed is also very slow (running is slightly better, but not by much). And windowed mode just results in only portion of my 4K screen being filled in, which breaks immersion, which is important for such games. And no, windowed fullscreen mode (or whatever it's called here) does not help - it behaves exactly the same way as regular fullscreen. I am not even aiming at 60FPS, but just stable 30FPS would be fine and it should be possible with 9800X3D and 7900XTX... Too bad, since I wanted to learn something about Finnish mythology.

Such an amazing atmospheric horror game! On it's core it is a walking simulator, but the deeper you get the deeper it also gets. I was constantly at the edge of my seat looking over my shoulder, waiting for something to pop out of the forest. The story starts off slow, but the more you find out the more you want to learn. The puzzles are very true to Finnish mythology in some aspects, and are more than just platforms for cheap jump-scares (which this game has practically none of, huge plus for that). There is a lot of content for you to find, even after already completing the game's main story. So the replay-ability is definitely there. All in all, I would heavily recommend this game to everyone who is a fan of horror games with a unsettlingly creepy atmosphere rather than constant jump-scares after jump-scares. 10/10 (except for the jumping puzzle. Fuck that thing :Dddd )

An interesting exploration puzzle game that dips into Finnish mythology. It gave me SCP and Control vibes, while not being a carbon copy of either. The puzzles are challenging but fair, with most of them either having the clue to a solution nearby or in readily-accessible documents, or taking a small bit of challenge to work out. I enjoyed the fact that enemies were present but not constant, but a handful of chase sequences punctuated by more passive, static enemies that were easy to avoid once you knew what you were looking for. Other reviews mention the constantly draining health/vitality stat. To be brutally honest, the accessibility of items to refill vitality is pretty fair if you explore well and you pay attention to your surroundings. There were a couple of points where I had to make careful choices about rationing my consumables, but within a short period of time I had refilled my stocks and was off again, so the pressure from the draining stat was more flavour than actual concern. Do recommend playing with a Finnish friend alongside if you have one. The ability to have on-the-fly translations and explanations of terms and names is a great enhancement.
