Pretty art. Puzzles aren't too difficult and are easy to walk away from and come back to... so it's a good game for passing time occasionally when drinking tea or something.

If you're a puzzler, this is a solid one. The intricacies of folding each new level allow for quite a bit of thinking, and the hints available are helpful without simply telling you the game. The art is lovely, in a smudged children's book kind of way. The music is a bit repetitive--mostly open chords with breathy women's vocals over top.
I was a bit disappointed in the story, though, because I never quite got into it. Paige had a brother, and the loss of said brother has definitely affected the family, but she wants to go to university, but she can also bend spacetime, but also there are adventures about frogs and a temple...? It just felt ramshackle, and I quickly started to ignore the story and just focus on the puzzles. If you're here for a great storyline, erm, maybe not this.
Love the origami creations as hidden Easter eggs to find. It's a nice connection to the reality of origami, and the little catchphrases with each are fun.
Good puzzles, nice graphics, solid brainteaser, but playing it once was plenty for me.

very cute little indie game! the puzzle mechanic is pretty cool and each chapter had its own unique spin on it. the difficulty level was very nice, most of the levels took me a bit to figure out, but they were not hard to the point of being frustrating. they also found a good way to implement hints. so overall definitely recommended! :3

A fantastic little puzzle game. It took me about 4 hours (under achievement time!) to beat with all the collectibles (not all secrets), and I had a great time. Towards the latter half of the game, I definitely started getting a feel for how the puzzles were designed and began solving SOME puzzles by accident, especially in the last area where moving Paige around is not the focus of the puzzles. I would endlessly recommend this game if you like brain teaser puzzles, and especially the collectibles had me sitting stumped for more than just a few minutes. It's also worth noting that the puzzle mechanics in the latter half of the game had me even more stumped on how to even program this in the first place, which is cool.
That being said, $20 is a pretty steep price for the small experience. I got it on sale for $5 during the Steam Summer Sale, and that was definitely a steal. I'd recommend getting it when on sale for $5-10.

Paper Trail is a sweet puzzle game that takes a novel mechanic and builds a variety of worlds on it. The art, music, and story all go together and blend delightfully with the puzzle elements, and the game is just as long as it needs to be.
This *isn't* a hard, thinky puzzle game - but it also isn't a game that uses puzzle structure while presenting no challenge, which is the typical alternative. You're not going to get stuck scratching your head for hours on anything, but you also aren't going to find yourself accidentally solving puzzles (with a few possible exceptions). There are optional puzzles in every world that require more thinking if you're up for a challenge, and which you can come back to later, which is a perfect balance.
I think that in the last world, the boards got a little busy, and while every mechanic including the last one was neat, there were a few puzzles towards the end where I did solve things just messing around. That's unfortunate, but it ultimately didn't detract from the overall experience.
I'm also really impressed that for Japanese voice acting they got Makiko Ohmoto, probably best known as the voice of Kirby. Her narration is excellent.

I typically really enjoy simple puzzle games. I have played games like A Little to the Left and Sizeable which have similar aspects, but I found this game much more frustrating than relaxing. The art style is beautiful and I was super intrigued by the mechanics, but the puzzles felt so tedious. By the time I reached the end of each level I wanted to stop playing because I just got frustrated. It reminded me of Sizeable in the way that you basically just keep trying different combinations until something works, and similar to A Little to the Left where there is minimal instructions. However, you are restricted by the characters movement speed so you cannot solve puzzles as fast as your brain is processing them because you have to wait for your character to walk, and sometimes you have to repeatedly make small steps to progress. I was really hoping to be intrigued by the story, but it all felt lack luster to me especially because you only got very short bursts of the story which didn't give you enough time to really care about the characters. I really wanted a cozy game I could play in the evenings, but every time I play it I just end up irritated and wishing I spent my time on something more enjoyable

A short little puzzle game. It's an interesting mechanic, and each new area introduces something new to keep it interesting, though it was starting to get a little repetitive towards the end. I enjoyed it, but wouldn't pay full price.
