Pretty decent souls like game. Was great for the first 75% of the game. Something about the last 25% just wasn't as enjoyable for me story and game play wise. Not sure how well the ending stuck the landing for me either but still a game worth playing especially if you're a fan of souls like.

The fighting style in this game is amazing! Always feels great to play this game. If you like souls-like games and you've beaten one in the past looking for that soul-like feeling again, I truly recommend this game. It's a blast and addicting.

The mechanics regarding the different shells and their different abilities were pretty fun. And the bossfights were mostly pretty interesting as well.
What annoyed me the most though was the heavy usage of platforming with platforming that didn't feel great. There were lots of sections were I just felt frustrated and which also made me avoid exploring a lot.

The story was fine, not a masterpiece, but definitely better than expected from such a fun little game.

Loved the visuals. The artstyle fits the game perfectly and I loved how the ocean trash was used to build everything. Even little things like drawers, built from ice-cube molds and stuff. Lots of little details that I really enjoyed.

The soundtrack is great and the enemy and weapon sounds were satisfying. There were instances though where the background "music" (like a constant humm) was really annoying because it didn't stop for a long time.

Performance was great and I didn't encounter a lot of bugs, just some glitches here and there.

I am not sure about the replayability here, as there is not really a lot you can customize, like weapons or skills to make your run a whole lot different. And, because the story is rather simple, there are no choices you can make.
So I am pretty sure that most runs will feel same-ish.

Definitely fun game with great environment design and fights. The underlying criticism regarding humans throwing trash into the ocean is also nice.
But the platforming just felt terrible for me and it killed the vibe. Could be different for someone else though.

A sentence to sum up this amazing game is that this game is a love letter to soul series/genre and platforms and a love letter filled with humor, twist, and care. Also, if you are veterans of the genre and also happens to know some weird facts/trivias about marine and marine life, then you might find many of its jokes and homages very endearing. This game can be enjoyed by veterans and newcomers of the genre, but do remember the game can be hard if you are not careful.

Crab Souls, it was a lot of fun.
Even funnier was to notice just how much the writer hates what they think of capitalism, because it isn't exactly subtle lol
Anviliciousness aside, solid gameplay loop, endearing artstyle, a pretty cathartic endgame and to my surprise, a fair challenge (something not many souls-like indies can pull off, as they are either too cryptic, too hard, too janky, too convoluted or a combination of any of the aforementioned). There was some jank in my playthrough, like getting OoB-ed by some of the attacks of certain bosses or due to the lack of collision while I was exploring every centimeter of what I thought it was fun to do so, but nothing too big.
Definitely recommend giving it a playthrough, a completionist one, even. The game basically begs you to power-up yourself before the late game throws you its punches, anyway, you may just have to do that in order to avoid some painful deaths heh

After tryharding in Elden Ring and DS3, playing this was a breath of fresh air. The fun souls-like combat mechanics and progression but mixed in with a lighthearted tone and story was beautifully combined to create a casual but also competitive experience.
Highly recommend this game if you enjoy cute and bright gameplay experience but also crave a thrilling combat sequences. Almost 100%ed this game with just about under 40 hours of playing but its also a good length to binge play through a boring weekend or progress little by little through out the week.
