Great mix of Link to the Past and a twin stick shooter. Great fun, took me 8 to 10 hours to 100% on normal.

Very good game. I was wondering how guns would work in a zelda-esque setting and I think they pulled it off very well. Will be looking forward to other games this studio will make. Really humourous throughout with a nice story. Absolutely hilarious last boss too!

This is the game I've been looking for since I fell in love with 'Enter the Gungeon'. I never write reviews but if you like EtG then this will be a great choice. Ever since I found EtG I've looked through dozens of games trying to find something similar and I've finally found it with 'Trigger Witch". Very much recommended!

I really enjoyed this game, it's like a light Legend of Zelda game, mixed with a twin stick shooter, with some shmup sections. The story was pretty cool and kept me interested through the whole game. The default to kills is blood splatter and bit but you can change it to confetti, which I did, just because it seemed to fit the look better. I pretty much played this nonstop until I beat it and there's a new game + too, which I always enjoy having. Some light puzzles, not very difficult but not really easy either, I played on normal and it seemed pretty well balanced to me. Overall a unique, fun game that took me about 8 hours to beat, I wandered quite a bit but not everywhere so you could have less or more time depending on how you play. I really enjoyed this game and recommend it to anyone that thinks they'll like a game like I described.

The gunplay is good but it's one those "Where the hell do I go" of game. Gotta find the right key for the right door so there's lot of backtrack in a dungeon.
The story is not interesting and I don't know why the developers chose this setting (Western teenage witches). The story isn't interesting at all, it just seems like the developers wanted to tell jokes about how funny it would be for witches to use guns and kill cute things.
The music is good, but I wish the music transition between overworld and combat was less jarring.
Probably won't finish it due to being stuck in the first dungeon (where do I go?) and not liking to backtrack so much, but it's still a well done good game that you probably will enjoy if you like 2D zelda games and twin stick shooters.
(Before you comment "git good", no I don't particularely like metroidvanias. I still bought the game because it's looked like a good twinstick shooter, which it is, but the flavor is diluted too much by all the backtracking)

This is truly a hidden gem! It feels like I rarely finish games nowadays, but this kept me hooked until the end and I enjoyed all the game had to offer! There is no filler, this game is pure content! Trigger Witch is such a charming game, it'll have you chuckling and laughing through it's story! I fully recommend this gem to anyone interested!

I've also played and finished this game on PS4, I'm happy it got a steam release and hope it goes well.
This game goes hard and I like it, it has a carefree arcade kind of nature.
The level design is good, theres little to no backtracking, arenas and bosses are balanced (and the difficulty setting is a good addition), the story is interesting, the guns feel nice and the soundtrack is good. I also like the variety in the guns, although I do wish the selection had been wackier like a laser weapon, a canon ball or something like that.
The addition of Co-Op is definitely welcome and I think will add a bit of value for quite a few people.
For the price being asked I think this game is very fair.
However, I do have some thoughts, and these are mostly small matters relating to the theme of the game and how some aspects break away from that theme, or are general design decisions.
-In my opinion, pinata mode should be enabled by default, as I think a puff of confetti is more on-theme than a puddle of blood.
-I can tell that considerable effort went into each area having two soundtracks, one for a general area theme and another metal variation of that theme for battles. I like the idea a lot but think the genre contrast between these two (as well as the loudness mixing of them) is quite jarring, and what would have worked a bit nicer is something like hollowknight where it's the same track but has additional layers like a drum track and some extra elements/instruments mixed in.
-As of right now there's no vsync option so there is a bit of screen tearing.
-A few more songs in the soundtrack for various conversation emotions would have been welcome, as sometimes the song doesn't really match the feeling of the conversation. In some cases I would have preferred hearing the area theme over the conversation song that switches in.
-In general, loudness (not volume, but the average volume) mixing is pretty good, but at times the gunshots and metal boosts the general loudness of the game considerably.
-The main ammo mechanic discourages players from using the same weapon, and that does keep things interesting as you end up cycling through all your weapons, but I personally feel that a more fun way to approach this would have been to reward players for switching weapons instead. Two possible approaches I can think of would be either a style system similar to spectacle fighters (where you get more currency for fighting well), or a boost in damage or particular effect from switching from one gun to the next (example, if you switch from flamethrower to shotgun, the first shot from the shotgun is wider and belches out flame or something like that)
- On my first playthrough I struggled to find out where I needed to go, as the map objective was off the main screen and I didnt know you could scroll the map. What would have helped if there was an indicator on the map pointing to the objective so I know where I have to scroll the map to, in order to progress.
-I'm not a big fan of the final boss, I don't know what I'd do instead, probably some nonsensical primeval darkness monster, but this boss seems like its too serious for the general vibe of the game.
Again, I still like the game a lot, I find its one of those ones where I'll play for about 10-15 minutes chipping away and then go back to doing some chores or other hobbies, which is great as you can save the game practically anywhere.
Best of luck for future releases and I hope RainBite keeps at it. Special shoutout to my boy one of the developers.

After 100% this game and spending almost 20 hours in it, I feel I should leave an in depth review, as I really did enjoy the game.

Pixel style game go brrrrr. The colours are balanced and the style is really nice. Nothing crazy, but nice to look at.

I will sing the praises of this game for it's soundtrack if it's soundtrack alone. Music is super important to any pixel like game, and especially any bullet hell, and Trigger Witch hits the nail on the head. The music itself is super catchy and you'll find yourself humming it if you play the game long enough, but the real charm comes from all of the metal covers of each of the different songs for each area that begin to play during combat. The music is so wonderfully balanced with the cute/grim mix of the world and I would suggest you play the game just for that alone.

After about two hours of gameplay, you've got all of your basic skills down pat. I personally found the bosses to be wayy too easy (I played on max difficulty NG+ and then a new run and was able to beat each of the bosses without needing to heal), but the rest of the game is fairly balanced. There are one or two bosses that gave me a bit of trouble on my first run, but they're just really predictable, slow, and underwhelming for a bullet hell.
---{ Grind }---
☑ Nothing to grind
☐ Only if u care about leaderboards/ranks
☐ Isn't necessary to progress
☐ Average grind level
☐ Too much grind
☐ You'll need a second life for grinding
You can achieve every achievement just by playing the game. There's maybe two you might have to run around for, but after you know what they are, they're easy to achieve.
---{ Story }---
☐ No Story
☑ Some lore
☐ Average
☐ Good
☐ Lovely
☐ It'll replace your life
The lore is the other big reason for my 6/10 rating. From the moment I picked up this game I was super invested in the lore. I don't want to add spoilers to a review, but it's overall hollow and falls flat by the end of the game. It was disappointing enough that I didn't want to replay the game.
---{ Game Time }---

I got almost 20 hours out of the game, but a single run is about 7-8 hours, I think.
---{ Bugs }---
☐ Never heard of
☑ Minor bugs
☐ Can get annoying
☐ ARK: Survival Evolved
☐ The game itself is a big terrarium for bugs
There's a couple of reset glitches, and if you're playing with Steam Controller on, you might have some issues, but other than that the game is flawless.

TL;dr
The game is beautiful, the music is an experience of its own, the bosses are too easy, the story is pretty good up until the end, I'd buy it for a friend.

Great game. Originally purchased and beat this on the switch last year, and It is one of the few games that has me yearning to come back. The plot in and of itself has an interesting premise and story world that mashes fantasy and real world technology, but nothing that I would say breaks the mold - and some aspects are definitely "tropey", but the game play and music is where its at. The plot of the game follows Colette, an ordained witch that utilizes weaponry sent from another dimension - however, these weapons look a lot familiar -- hmm..
The game plays essentially like a twin stick shooter legend of zelda with an occasional shmup section. The world is split in two halves, each half comprised of separate areas that are diverse and are really fun to explore. There are plenty of incentives to divert from the main goal path. The first half of the game has you traversing separate areas to acquire items necessary to progress to the second area. To acquire these items you will have to beat puzzle filled dungeons that ends in a pretty decent boss fight (some are good, but some are actually pretty decent). The second half of the game implements the same pattern, but I would not say this gets any boring as the areas you explore are very interesting with interesting inhabitants. I think the explanation of why this world is the way it is is pretty funny and makes a lot of sense in the end.
The music itself is pretty great, something that I thought was under looked. The game has a cool gimmick that switches up a song from a more calm to an upbeat metal bop. I initially purchased the special edition of this game so I could own the soundtrack on cd -- still have not opened it as I own the digital copy as well.
The graphics are a good representation of the 16 bit era. The character models are not the prettiest, but it does its job distinguishing all of the characters from the world. The only gripe that I have with this game is the enemy variety as we see the same base enemies throughout the entire game (and possibly a unique enemy per area). Each enemy does have their own part in the matter, you have a range enemy, physical contact/melee enemy, shield enemy -- etc, but it would have been cool to see a variety in the aesthetic as you traversed to the different area.
Overall, this game is an easy 8/10 that is long enough to where it doesn't over stay its welcome and still have a satisfying play time. The final boss reveal was possibly the funniest thing I've seen in a while. It is a must play if you are a fan of the genre.
