Played this game for a couple of minutes, not much to do nor is there any narrative. I keep having issues when trying to slice the Tatamis mats. I feel this game could use a tutorial explaining how to use, and take care of a Katana.

Hi! It is a fun game, but it has no audio when play through Virtual Desktop :( The hit register needs a tweak, sometimes it not register any contact with the tatami :(

This review is based on V0.4.6 and was played on an Oculus Quest 2 at 120 Hertz on a PC with a 1660 and AMD Ryzen 5 Updated review Updated as of 23/10(October)/2024 I just want to say that this game has really lost it's touch The dev has not updated the game in nearly 2 years, the big promise of huge updates was therefore never delivered, and the game hasn't even been priced down or put on sale since This game is no longer worth it at all if you are looking for a cheaper VR Experience I would recommend SuperHotVR, VRChat(Which is even free), A Fisherman's Tale or Budget Cuts over this game for new VR Players. Both due to these games being far more new player friendly, both on Steam and on Oculus, as well as being actually polished and finished games(As far as VRChat can be finished of course) To add on to this, the dev has gone on Radio Silence with no warning or reason, leading me to believe this project was abandoned or something else. Therefore, unless you have the extra cash, and really REALLY REAAAALLY want a Tamashigiri(Tatami Matt Cutting) game, this is the only one you can get for VR, and even then I recommend not getting it. It's sad to say that a game that showed so much promise is just dead in every sense of the word, and not worth it anymore in the slightest

Surprisingly addictive. But hit detection glitches at high speeds and my sword passes through targets often enough to get annoying. I'm on quest 2 and this game would benefit from a native 90hz or 120hz version.

pros: it's satisfying to cut cons: The tracking is awful there are often frame drops even with PC parts that can run almost every game on max settings without lag or frame drops sometimes you slice right through things but nothing happens (with the same amount of force you use to cut every thing else)

Still needs a lot of work for tracking the sword swing and movement. So far when handling even 1 sword 2 handed it does not cut when needed or accurately. Yes I have experience in swordsmanship and no this game is far from real. I understand the plot. Maybe once more things are added. Maybe some combat against people would make me come back. Till then please work on your cutting ability in this game. For an early its ok and entertaining for about 4 minutes.

Perfect game for any Katana enthusiast like me. It's extremely satisfying to slash those tameshigiri into pieces. The game is still in early access so some issues are to be expected, but it's totally playable and worth the money.

I have tried this game for 20 minutes, so far it is a really enjoyable game, and to me quite calming despite the constant physical movement, for an Early Access title i can so far notice almost no bugs or glitches within the game, although holding something in your left hand will be a bit janky compared to the right hand, but this might just be because i am Right handed, i really do recommend this game for anyone who wishes to try it out.

Totally awesome. I'm a nerd living the dream in Japan. I actually train in Iaido and Battodo and... the reason I tell myself I didn't go to the dojo tonight was because it was raining... or this, who knows? lol The details on the swords is freaking great. The hamon, hada, blade geometry such as with the kissaki, the bohi in the wakizashi with the shinogi zukuri geometry... I love it all. Literally, my only thing close to a gripe is the weave in the tsukamaki-ito not being realistic but... hell, they got the henari maki pattern right! I see so many swords in real life, in my own hands that aren't wrapped correctly. The tsukamaki lining up with the kashira and fuchi correctly is just great. I'm in love with the details. The mechanics and all are so satisfying I just hope for more environment details to interact with. Like, when I first noticed the shiba statue... I just wanted to pet the puppy lol Also, saw another review mention no sound over Virtual Desktop. I honestly just thought there was no sound. But, I hope that gets fixed soon! Other than that, this is a pleasure on Oculus Quest 2, wireless (5ghz), with a Dell laptop with an RTX 3060. All I want is more! Cheers!
