saw it before and thought it looked great - saw the game again, saw that it was in early access and was interested
honestly was kind of skeptical on whether the game would be good to play in early access but it genuinely exceeded my expectations- definitely one of the best creature collectors i've played (story, gameplay, art design, music- all great)
would recommend!

I LOVE this game! It's fun, the art is expressive and colorful, and honestly I need to go to bed soon so I can't make this too long-winded, but... play this game. It's in my top 10 favourite games of all time. I named my Bildit "Blueboo" and I have no regrets. You can basically take your beasties to Denny's and give them high fives. 20 outta 10 game, two thumbs up, 5 shining platinum diamond S-tier stars, just for that. I've always wanted to take colorful fantasy animals to a diner, AND NOW YOU CAN. There are also SO MANY PANCAKES IN THIS GAME. IT'S GREAT!!! I haven't even finished it yet, and neither have the developers, but that's okay, because honestly I love to see such an amazing work in progress. It's like playing inside someone's kickass painting. I have to go to bed now but please understand this game is stellar and has given me one more delightful reason to live. OH, ALSO, THERE IS AN ADORABLE FRUIT BAT. 100/10 game

I've always loved the world and creatures of Pokemon, but never really liked the combat. Here, I like it way more, and it being reframed as sports gives it such a friendly energy that's lovingly crafted (you can also just hit the "Victory" button in matches if you want).
The one thing I'd say I dislike is that various art and UI pieces often get in the way of health bars (you can back out of selections and get an overhead view, so it's manageable, but it's a little annoying having to back out to see so often).

Been playing this game since the first playtest and let me say, it's 100% worth the price.
The devs are extremely friendly and quick to balance any issues or fix any bugs. The playerbase is truly wonderful and welcoming.
As for the game itself: the gameplay is addicting, the beasties are wonderful to look at and listen to (truly, wonderful designs all the way), and the story mode is full of wonderful characters that have captured my heart. (Not to mention the soundtrack and region designs are just awesome.)
I 100% understand waiting till it's out of EA, some people just prefer that, but if you're wondering if you should get Beastieball, the answer is a hard YES!

The game oozes so much personality and in my experience pretty much every beastie was viable. The designs are adorable and the soundtrack is really good at hyping you up

As someone who grew up with Pokemon being their only taste of the monster-catching genre, I've decided to branch out more, and this game might be the pinnacle of monster-catchers. Not only are the Beasties adorable from the jump, but the seemingly simple volleyball-like combat hides a depth and difficulty that just clicks after a certain point. The story is funny and well-written, the human characters have actual personality, and the music is on another level. Buy this game and make your friends buy it too.

Outstanding game to every degree. The story is creative, funny, interesting, but doesn't overstay it's welcome. The gameplay and the battles are the core of the game and it's brilliant designed. Every part of it feels just right.
The key issues with the game are entirely to do with it being early access. The game has absolutely brilliantly written friendship/romance/whatever options, however they're not all finished writing and animating. A number of the Beasties don't have their final animations yet, with some of their movements and sprites being hand-drawn line art to placehold for the final art. If that is an issue for you, just wait for the full game.
As of right now, the game has a complete story as well as post-game content. It has an active PVP community along with events to compete. The game, if you rush through and focus on the story, comes out to about 15-20 hours long. For the quality of content, depth of strategy, and enjoyment I had, I believe that 20 pounds is an absolute steal. Furthermore, the dev team are dedicated to adding MORE to the story, with new beasties, story beats, bosses and the like.
I cannot recommend this game enough.

Brilliant Creature Collector. Incredibly well executed and unique combat system with a humongous chasm of depth to explore and enjoy. Jam-packed with character, energy and style that gives Beastieball it's own flavour and feel. Full of quality of life features, massive improvements on the weaknesses and time-wasting mechanics of other games in the genre and a breadth of helpful accessibility options.
The care and effort that's been put into Beastieball cannot be overstated. This is a true modern gem of a game that I'm excited to follow as they finish development.
If this game wasn't already sold to you it's another great example of Early Access done right. The "game" is basically finished. All the beasties are available, the story is functionally finished, the combat mechanics, navigation and overall systems are stable and reliable. The primary aspect of Early Access with this game is the visuals and side content. The entire base game is there and finished it's entirely the wonderful sauce and outer flavour that is still being cooked and perfected in this early access state.
I'd highly recommend this game for anyone interested in creature collectors, exciting and deep turn based combat systems, fans of teambuilding and unique theorycrafting and synergy and games that ooze style with deep attention and care for the fine details.

This game slaps.
I haven't wanted to play an Early Access game for a VERY long time. The demo really won me over and after hearing that the main story is content complete, I decided to give it a go. I'm so glad that I did. I particularly like the team building element, trying to juggle the various beasties, traits, and skills to form a strong and cohesive team. I couldn't get enough.
Some brief highlights:
* The volleyball matches are tactically engaging and strategically nuanced.
* It has a world filled with secrets and shortcuts that is fun to explore.
* It delightfully makes fun of all the worst parts of capitalism.
* It has such a fun cast of characters. Just about every interaction with Sports King had me cackling.
* It's also very inclusive, for those of you who are in need of a little love and consideration.
The main things that are still works in progress are the finalized art and animations for the various beasties (some few still have placeholder art, and most are not animated yet), a couple of side-area map regions around the world, and roughly half of the friendly NPC story events (which are all opt-in side stories to develop out the cast further). Apparently there are plans on localization already in the works as well, so I hope that helps the game explode in popularity across multiple regions of the world once it reaches full release. It deserves it.
Seriously, the game is baller. Try out the demo some time.
