This is my favorite creature collector type game that I've played. Despite being obviously inspired by Pokemon like much of this genre, the gameplay feels entirely fresh and unique. The beastie designs are excellent, there were many that I fell in love with. The characters and writing are very charming. Every boss battle has their own unique music track, all of which are lovely. And there's some very meaty post-game content even in the current early access version of the game. The only reason this is marked as early access is that all the game's art assets are not complete yet. This is a full game, and a really good one at that.

I have tried and bounced off of a myriad of other creature collectible games.
I wasn't the most enamored with the new Pokemon games, I've not found a Digimon game I've wanted to play, Palworld seems like not my type of game, Cassette beasts seemed a little rough around the edges but was okay, but this game caught me.
It's simple and strategic with designs I deeply feel are inspired, despite not all the art being in the game is just about done. It feels finished. It's really neat and I think anyone who wants a game with heart and soul to it needs to play this.
I'll write more when I can, but this is how I feel right at this moment.

It's definitely still in early access, but even with a little polish missing the game is incredible. At first I thought the tactics were a little too simple, but as the game continues it evolves and can be pretty challenging and unique. Overall this is worth checking out, even in early access. And if you'd rather wait until it isn't, you still should pick it up. It does so many things right.

This is the freshest take on the Monster Tamer formula I have ever seen. The presentation is really good(a part from the Beastie sketches), the music is phenomenal, I like the story, and the mechanics mesh real nicely to create a fun battle system that relies on your decisions more than most RPGs. I have high hopes for this one.

Important: This is one of those RPGs where the characters have more than one thing to say. Keep talking until the prompt disappears, it is ALWAYS worth it.
This is such a special experience, even in Early Access. The writing is great- efficient and evocative and emotional, with a well-realized world and a story with twists. The music is an outstanding blend of instruments and styles that never fails to bop. The creature designs are adorable, even with the occasional placeholder sketch, and their posing and expressions are superb. The gameplay feels great and has oodles of strategic depth, and great options to make it easier or more challenging.
But for me, the standout feature is the way that the Beasties interact with you and each other, which is miles away from any other creature-collecting game I've ever played. Just the change from "capturing monsters for your collection to fight battles for you" to "recruiting animals to your team to play sports with each other" is so positive and heartwarming and so good.
Beasties love to ball. Toss a ball in their direction and they'll start keepy-uppies at a moment's notice. The wild encounters use slightly weird and inefficient tactics, because they're not playing to win, they're just having fun. Each Beastie has a unique 'recruit condition', because you need to show them something specific that makes them realize that playing for your team might be fun. And when they aren't playing matches for your team... they go home, and hang out with their friends. They form relationships with each other, they form a community. It's so wonderful.
And that's Beastieball!

Peak creature collector. Written with a level of thought and love for the creatures and how they fit into the setting that other creature collectors simply never even try to achieve. And with gameplay that is far more deep and engaging then I possible expected out of the idea of CC volleyball. Any creature collector genre fan is doing them a disservice not playing this. At the very least wishlist and keep your eyes on this for when the "full" (full story is already playable) game releases with all its polish and content plans done.

Insanely original and unique twist on monster taming. The sports angle of the game makes everything unique and fresh. The game is asbolutely goregous and the beasties' designs are all cuuuuute.
Top tier monster taming game. I hope this blows up and becomes a big franchise.
Early Access, but it's here to impress.
Growing up, I've always had an attachment to the creature collector genre. Big Pokemon fan but lately, I've been craving something that can stand out from the Pokemon system per se which can also give me the satisfaction of caring for my team and completing a "PokeDex" of sorts. I found Beastieball right before it was released and the gameplay intrigued me. Volleyball with little creatures that you can assemble as a team? Splendid!
Once I finally got my hands on it, it clicked like clockwork. I LOVE the way Beastieball puts its own spin on the formula. The type system is simplified to three here, Body, Spirit, and Mind where a "super-effective" attack is based on how high a beastie's defense stat is towards that type. Each Beastie (so far) seems to have their own kind of moveset and archetype to make them stand out without relying on attack types. Because of this, you can craft your team in a lot of ways easier, in my opinion, when compared to other games in the genre. Even while in early access, this game has a Battle Frontier in the endgame which I really appreciated.
The artstyle looks really charming and the characters all look pretty good. I like their personalities and the social system where you can meet with the coaches (gym leaders) and spend some time with them is a nice touch! Speaking of personalities, I adore how the beasties have unique traits too and how they react to things you do both in-battle and while just walking around the world. The little moodles that pop-up along with the relationship system among the beasties just give them so much more character and I had a really fun time immersing myself into the game as it did.
Now, this is still in early access so there are a lot of things unfinished. Some beasties don't have animations yet and some have their sketched poses as their current ones. There are also some bugs that I've run across but they provided a bug-reporting tool in-game for these purposes. The game also runs slow at times when I Alt-Tab and return to it but I've only run into this in like three times during my playthrough.
All-in-all, one of the best creature collectors I have played so far. I look forward to the full release and I will definitely follow this game on the road leading to it!
