Pretty neat tips to play along with pixel art, focusing on the basics needed for a 2D pixel art game. The art is also very stylish so thanks to the author for this course ( and cute bonus game :).

The content is not really big but there are some really nice tips and tricks. Definetly worth!

This "game" has a few good tips for aspiring pixel artists but the cost vs what you get for this "game" is to high. I liked the section on making run and jump animations as well as creating tilesets, but thats it. Your better off looking up Saultoons, MortMort, BJGpixel, PeterMilko, and even a bit of PixelOverlord on youtube to learn about pixel art. Some of them even go into what software to use and how to use this. This just goes over some basics and doesn't do a good job with re-enforcing lessons. Its like reading a stale textbook. The first section alone skips around and covers key concepts in two or three short paragraphs at best. Of the 10 sections for this program, the sections range between 2 and 8 pages each which can be learned on the earlier mentioned channels. The game to show off the creators pixel art skills is a bad "the floor is lava" kind of game that has players jumping between mandrakes but if the jump button isn't timed right to go to the next one, players simply fail. There is no resting on each mandrake. The instructions that the program provide for the game are to jump and to use a controller. I was forced to use my keyboard for my first attempt even though I switched over to the controller. The game would not make the change until I failed once. I would like to support indy devs. I was hoping for more out of this game. It took me about an hour to an hour and a half to read all of the pages. I went through the game on my laptop while it was in offline mode. Its clear that the artist knows what they are talking about, they just dont know how to organize it well for begginers.
