As a long time fan of IV Software, I am so thrilled to be supporting another project from them. This is an incredibly innovative sandbox space builder in the vein of Reassembly and Factorio, and it is absolutely ripe with potential. What's currently here has already sucked me in for hours. There's something about the ship building, automation, and hectic space environment that makes me lose track of time and really scratches my brain with that signature Introversion charm and passion. There's already a fair amount to do with a full set of missions for a variety of different 'career' paths, and none of these story branches overstay their welcome or feel redundant. The sandbox elements are already solid, and the foundation that's here shows that this game is gonna be another incredible hit. Of course with it being early access, there are a couple of issues to expect; - Automation is pretty simple, nowhere near in the realm of Factorio. - Non-game breaking bugs are uncommon, but require a quick save & load to fix. - Very simple story, almost no world-building. No factions, no nations, no wars, little fighting, no.. politics. - The gameplay loop, while solid, can be a bit repetitive since the game is a bit light on content. Definitely pick this up in early access if you are fan of sandbox builders with automation and management streaks. IV Software has an excellent track record, I'm truly excited to play alongside their development.

Finally a starship builder with an actual storyline that isn't just "Go earn money!" Now excuse me as I toss some Twiddles into a black hole.

I have always liked Introversion Software games ever since Uplink came out. This is no different, even though it is still in Early Access, it is a great game. I cannot wait to see how they finish it off.

The Last Starship is a surprisingly addictive game that hits that perfect balance between creativity and strategy. It's especially enjoyable when you're high — there's just something meditative about piecing together a giant, functional machine in space. Watching your ship come to life as you design every detail, from power grids to oxygen flow, feels like building an industrial masterpiece. The graphics are minimal but clean, which actually helps keep the focus on your designs and systems instead of flashy distractions. The UI can feel a little overwhelming at first, but once you get the hang of it, it’s super satisfying to navigate and master. Gameplay-wise, there's a solid mix of building, resource management, and missions. You can mine asteroids, trade, rescue civilians, or even engage in combat if you're feeling bold. There's enough challenge to keep things interesting, but it’s never so punishing that it kills the vibe. Automation and logistics fans will especially love how much control you have over your systems. Overall, whether you're trying to optimize every pipe and panel or just vibe out and create a giant space rig, The Last Starship delivers. It's still in development, but it's already got a ton of potential and replayability. Highly recommend — especially if you enjoy games that let you chill out and get deep into building.

Mixes quite a few game types into one package, there are FTL and Rimworld flavours in there. A nice introduction and tutorial which does not get in the way, there is a good mix of missions so you can decide just to run a fancy bus service or just battle other ships to earn money if you want and then build your own ships too, run a factory etc it lets you decide how to play. Earn money build your own battleships, mine, run a factory, rescue people from damaged ships, it really does provide some good variety. Will definitely be returning to this game again in the future as it is so easy to just pick up again.
