i really wanted to like this game, like other AAA hitters that push bad games out with a good IP's. i feel like a child with adhd is having an arm shoved down its throat to remove the adhd medication from him. the game is just so much happening, it really tries to be a lego game but is confusing and just overall boring.

I collect lots of things in real life and Funko pops are one of those main things I collect. I thought this game was going to be fun and well made but I was completely wrong. I feel as if I wasted my money on it.

funko fusion, more like funko fission. because it makes me wanna split into 7 parts. First, the good! I like the worlds, each one is crafted with such care that it's kinda nice. if it doesnt bug out. Now, the bad. 1. CHARACTER SKILLS There are so many characters in this game, and most of them basically boil down to "I can shoot a regular gun, and also hit you." The only exceptions to this rule are characters with abilities, which are few and far between. You're telling me that invincible is in this game, but the only character that can break through a material found in all worlds is one guy? Or the fact that of the three characters that can use fire, only one actually reliably works (and he loses his dodge for it). Either make more skills these characters can use, or make the already available skills more widespread, like giving characters with acidic features the ability to melt red plastic, or comically strong characters like Invincible the ability to break gold plastic. Speaking of characters, 2. CHARACTER SELECTION Much like how most of the characters in this game boil down to "I can shoot a regular gun, and also hit you.", most of the characters in funko fusion are actually just people. Does this make sense for some levels, like Scott Pilgrim? Yes! Does this make sense for other levels like Jurassic World? No! I wanna play as Blue and maul my way through Hot Fuzz, or be the Swan and annoy the heck outta the people of toronto. On top of this, the characters available are also mediocre at best. I understand that you need all of the leads of the franchises, but we can't even play as half of the original 4 FNAF animatronics or the majority of non human characters from Jurassic World (If you don't spend 10 dollars). 3. DLC Continuing on from last point, the absolute failure this game was at launch has lead this team to release DLC more than I release CO2. I, thankfully, bought some of these characters during the summer sale, so I didn't have to spend 10 dollars on 4 characters that do actually nothing. I purchased the rebirth packs solely for the non-humans, only to learn that just like their non DLC relative, they too can shoot a regular gun and also hit you. On top of this, these characters allow people to access areas they shouldn't be able to, like using atom eve to get to the invincible cameo, and then being unable to complete it due to the requirement of a sentry turret. Besides Atom Eve and the rebirth packs, I only got the free dlcs, and used a whopping zero of them. because they're just like everyone else! In closing, this game advertises the amount of IPs it has, but only to cover up the glitchy, boring interior. The worlds look phenominal, yes, but the character options and gameplay loops just fall flat. after this review, I'm uninstalling this waste of storage, and I'm not spending a single cent on this. For the saving of 35 whole dollars, do not buy this game or any of its DLC. If you like Funko Pops, use the 35 whole dollars you save to buy someone from the game, and maybe turn them into something more than just a guy who shoots a regular gun and also hits you.

I love games where I can smash everything for currency 😅. The game was unplayable when I first purchased it, but issues mostly seem to be sorted now and I’m having a lot of fun. I’ve heard they’re unlikely to release more content DLCs due to the lack of success the game has had. This is a shame as I’d love to play more once I’ve beat the main game and existing content packs! I’d still recommend this game for PC but maybe wait for a sale like I did 😊

well the game is good it reminds me of the old Lego games but it needs a good optimization update its kinda buggy and it keeps crashing on certain levels and disappear objects that you need to finish the level

This game is the definition of untapped potential, it set the scene for one of the greatest crossover games ever. Instead it just got abandoned because of poor sales, and is now being filled with dlc skin packs and character packs instead of more real content to expand the games world further. Almost a year later, the game is still poorly optimised, buggy to the point of softlocks and lacks basic functionality like key rebinding. It got a steam deck optimised version for that sweet sweet deck verified check mark, instead of a general optimisation fix for the majority of the playerbase. It actually runs at a solid 40 fps on the deck even on demanding levels, yet absolutely crumbles in the lobby for some reason to as low as 10 fps. I can't say I had a completely bad time, especially since I am a fan of funko pops and a lot of the IPs used, but the gameplay loop was pretty repetitive, with its only replay value being a collectathon. I feel like you really got to like funkos to be willing to sit through the whole game, let alone 100% complete the whole game. It's not even a game like Payday 3 where it's repetitive but with a friend you can sink hundreds of hours, the multiplayer in this game isn't even tied to the main games progression! It's a completely separate mode with separate progression and no collectables. Like what even is the point to playing co-op if all I get is skins at the cost of any real progression. Unironically, the best thing this game did was having physical tie in promotional funko pops of characters funko hadn't made before, like Nicholas Angel or M3gan, as well as a cheap way to get a Shaun at the time. Speaking of which, personal collector nitpic, both The Thing and Hot Fuzz got an entire 5 level world each in this game, despite not having a single real physical funko pop prior to the games tie in physical pops. Yet wildly popular IPs like Invincible, Fnaf and Chucky get reduced to cameos despite having dedicated funko pop lines. I would imagine it makes most sense to make worlds based on the IPs whos physical pops are already popular instead of making worlds for pops that didn't exist. Overall, Funko Fusion is still a pretty fun romp for a fan of funko pops, but is weighed down by so many bad decisions and unfinished ideas that I can't imagine it appeals to anyone else when alternatives like the lego games exist. It genuinely hurts to give this game a negative review as I so badly wanted it to be good, and I tried desperately to play the game with rose tinted glasses, yet reality is so blinding.
