Lots of fun, has all the aspects that made baulders gate fun with pixel art. My only knock is the hub world is a bit awkward, as its a super advanced science lab and takes you out of the old school D&D setting

So many good ideas in this game and the loop is very addicting for a min/max gamer.
If you are even interested in this game and don't hate pixel art styles just buy it because its worth the money.
If these devs could make mod in Baldur's Gate 3 with every fundamental of Escape the mad empire and put it behind a pay wall i would easily pay $60 usd for just the mod.
give them money so they can port to UE5!!! :)

EA release is pretty good. Playable.
The gripe I have is 4 months in EA with no content delivery. The only patches being insignificant bug fixes and 10 min worth of work in stats adjustments.
If the dev picks up the slack and start pumping out content I'll change this but if the next content release is a few items consider this to be an abandoned game that only gets an update to refresh its steam game suggestion to new buyers.

With a bit more development this might be my favorite Dungeon Crawler. The future is bright for this game and those behind it, I'm a HUGE fan of the thought that has gone into this setup. If I don't end up with over 100 hours on this title you'll know I've died. Please leave flowers in my memory if that's the case.
Update: I'm not going to make 100 as the game currently sits. The overall content is just too thin at the time of writing this. I've taken it slow enjoying everything there was to do, twice but that loop is starting to get stale. I recommend more content, more biomes, more monsters- if these are added during this early access I'd put this at the top of my list for game of the year, otherwise it's a great game that could have been epic.

Before I say anything bad, you have:
- the Darkest Dungeon team and town management style
- D&D game plays
- Diablo-style set items and randomized stats
- Slay the Spire stage progression
- I'm pretty sure there are other goodies I didn't mentioned.
This game is deep and it's a S+ tier game, but if I have to nitpick one thing, and it's a personal preference, the one thing that's preventing me to go deeper is the art styles - especially the character icons and the home base, they are unpleasant to look at. After 20+ hrs game plays, my eyes are like the berserker's - crying with blood. And if possible, please release more character icon choices for us to personalize our teams. Thanks
Keep up the good works
