Easily a 9/10. A game that holds tight to the inspirations that ultimately gave birth to it (Vergil has many daughters lol). Its combat is super tight, making me feel like I'm in complete control of every attack and parry. Once things clicked I was handling bosses nearly completely on the first try while having a blast doing so. And for once, I can actually say I loved the story that was told, all the way to its grand finale. If there was any complaints the first would be that the sonic rail sections have jump patterns that feel as though it was made with a bit more air time in mind. You have to spam jump to get all he floating flowers at times and it didn't seem you had enough airtime to clear some obstacles. Then there was a bit during the harder challenge fights where I'd accidentally enable lock on, causing me to lose sight of the chaos going on around me. Not much of a complaint there as that was on me, but do know that the lock on persists between "domain counter" segments (or whatever they call the finisher alternate dimension). Game was made with a ton of love and I loved every moment of it. I cannot recommend it enough for any fan of the DMC series.

This game is beyond my expectation, story is very impressive even with how casual and easy to guess the story was except for the last chapter that have a very interesting surprise, visual is great as well as the game artstyle, gameplay wise I would like to say please play the casual story mode if you want really want to play this game for story as the Shrine Maiden mode is very and actually recommend to those that really wanna suffer the parry hell and dodge hell of Bullet Hell game style. Ann/10. Very Recommend to those that bored of games nowadays in market and want to play a game that combine both modern and old game style with very impressive story.

A ~12 hour character action game that wears its NieR Automata influence on its sleeves. It's fun, it looks good, it plays good, its story is pretty okay, and I'm glad I played it.

What can I say, as my first ever Hack n Slash game it was an amazing Experience. I loved the game design and the characters personalitys. The Storys of every single Character was emotional and wholesome in the later half. The Gameplay is amazing but a bit complicated (for me) in regards of the amount of Colour Flashing during the big fights which led me to lose focus sometimes. The Area Music annoyed me pretty much the whole time but besides that, i am very happey with this game. 7-8 /10

Fun and endearing action game which wears its DMC and Nier inspirations on its sleeves. The combat plays akin to Automata but is enhanced by DMC-inspired combo sequences and its style rank meter. The combo system offers you more flexibility and options than initially appears, with how you can deviate out of the defined combo sequences using the light --> heavy sequence or using skills, even if it doesn't go as far as the limitless freedom afforded by DMC's Enemy Step. The pod guns feel about as underwhelming as in Automata but at least their targeting system doesn't render them completely unusable as they are in Automata's hard mode. It's perhaps a little dissonant that a fast and perfect combat can result in a "red" rank for the encounter because you didn't accumulate enough base score points as you decimated the enemies, but this doesn't affect the gameplay itself at the end of the day. The fact that you can whiff parries with essentially no consequence is presumably a decision that was consciously made as an improvement to the experience, but it does feel a little silly and it wouldn't hurt if it penalised you in score or in some kind of meter or something; similarly the fact that the domain expansion/zandatsu mechanics don't seem to punish you for pre-empting the delayed button press or being imprecise when linking the dots is surprising, and even if that is by design one can't help but feel like there could be some kind of consequence for failing what is being framed as a challenge. The game isn't particularly difficult but is still fun to play, although an additional difficulty would go a long way to increasing replayability and the fact that the game generously gave me all "Perfect" chapter ranks on my first playthrough despite a litany of green, red, and missed combats leaves me with much less incentive to go back through. The platforming and other intervening segments are good for pacing out the combats, but they're neither very challenging nor very consequential to your health or score and they certainly aren't the highlight of the game. The story and cinematography aren't always perfect but you can always see what the developers were aiming for, and even the roughest of in-engine cutscenes are at worst comparable to something you would see in modern Pokémon. The characters are all fun and the lack of English voicing never feels like a problem outside of boss fights - I'm sure there's some interesting characterisation going on in their dialogue as you fight them, but since their dialogue uses the subtitles at the bottom of the screen rather than the text popups on the left side you just aren't able to read it while you're playing. I enjoyed the plot and backstories and and am interested to see if anything is done with the three "open" ends, but the story concludes well enough as it is anyway. Very cool very fun you know what else would be very cool if the ponytail hairstyle from the ending cutscene was a completion reward wouldn't that be epic ha ha

Despite its fiery/shrine related aesthetics, the narrative is surprisingly dark. I guess she's motivated.

This is one awesome spectacle fighter! The combat influence from Nier: Automata is obvious from the start. You have two swords that float behind your back, one for light attacks and one for heavy attacks, and you have a "pod" with various fire functions that floats next to you that unleashes barrage attacks. The combat sequences also combine melee fighting with a mild bullet hell aspect. That's where the similarities end, though. As far as the aesthetic, story, and level design go, this game is completely original. For starters, it doesn't have an open world like Nier and instead uses a linear level design. The levels are sprawling and have multiple sections that switch things up. You will switch between regular areas where combat is frequent and "demonic realm" areas that are more focused on platforming and acrobatics. The levels are long but they stay fresh. Then there are the boss fights, which are amazing. Each boss is extremely well-designed with frantic patterns and multiple phases. There's also a post-game chapter select with the option to skip right to boss fights so I'll probably be going back to fight them again at some point. I can't really say much about the story without giving spoilers so I'll just say that it was way more intriguing than I expected. The twists and turns were great and the characters are all amazing. Overall, if you like spectacle fighters, especially if you liked Nier: Automata, definitely pick this up.
