I hate this game (and Atlus/ SEGA) Why do I have to be Online to launch the game? I just want to play on the airplane/ ship on my SteamDeck. Is there anything wrong with that?

The game has intriguing lore, but I find it quite boring when it only pops up once every five hours of gameplay. Yes romancing a character is a big part of the game itself, but I don't want to have an extreme amount of freetime.

decent rerelease but still needs work in the 2d Backdrop department, i still much prefer FES and reload tho since you need to heavily mod this game for the visuals to be enjoyable.

Won't deny that I really like Persona 3 Portable and consider it to be my preferred version of the Persona 3 experience, and the remaster is fine enough (60 FPS, instant loads, and quick saves are great additions), but if you want the most out of P3P, I say buy a PSP. The game looks really clean on my PSP-3000, especially compared to the mediocre upscaling of the remaster. Otherwise, I'd recommend emulating this game at 1x res with sharp pixels, or trying out FES and Reload. And hey, if you really wanna go with the remaster, there's mods to fix the audio, restore the low-res backgrounds, and even bring back the FMVs for both protagonists. That's all I have to say. I gotta go back to playing Persona 3 Portable on my PlayStation Portable. Maybe I'll actually beat it this time.

For what it is, this is still an acceptable port of Persona 3, but there's stuff missing. That stuff includes: No anime cutscenes, and no overworld that you can walk on (instead basically turning non-Tartarus segments into a point & click game). However, it does add the Female Protagonist Route, which also adds new Social Links (and gets rid of Nozomi and Kenji and that route, good riddance), and I'd argue that alone is worth the price. But honestly, just play Persona 3 Reload (if you can, I understand not everyone has a Steam Deck or an optimal PC). But if this is your only option, then yeah, it's still good, but it's not perfect.

Nice game to play if you just want to have a glimpse of how the OG game started like before P3 Reload. I actually enjoyed it and can't wait how P3 became better on the Reload version.

Very solid way to experience Persona 3, just make sure to install a mod to restore missing cutscenes. That being said you'll be missing out on additional content like The Answer epilogue DLC since it's not included in Portable, as well as other smaller additions in FES and Reload. If you want that, you can find a way to play P3FES for the PS2 or play Reload. The main draw of P3P is to play as the female protagonist that isn't playable in any other version of the game (which is the reason I got it). Her route adds new social links and characters to interact with that aren't available in the default male route. It's a refreshing way to interact with the game if you've already played through it once, but it's still a great way to experience the game for the first time. If you're gonna do this, I VERY HIGHLY recommend searching for and installing the Kotone Cutscenes Project mod. It will enhance your experience of playing as the female protagonist by a mile, with a high quality fan made opening cinematic and restored cutscenes. Persona 3 is my favorite game of all time, I could rant all day about why that is. To keep this review very short though, this is just another option to experience it, with the female protagonist being its main appeal.
