If you want an affordable version of Slay the Spire with a stylish visual and badass combat animation, I highly reommend Beneath Oresa.
The content, while it may not be as depth as Slay the Spire, the game offers a broader gameplay, with its faction mechanics, classes variety, companion, etc, although there are some room for improvement for these feature, the game is still very fun, rewarding, and engaging for a less-casual player (Due o the length of each combat)

Really like the companion mechanic. I wish there was a little more variety in events but I do enjoy the gameplay loop.

Roguelike Card Battlers are my jam, so I had to try this even though a lot of people seem to have complaints on the difficulty.
You have several unlockable characters through natural progression. Each character has a passive, a unique mechanic, and their own starting deck. Sora, your starting character, deals with viruses. Some cards add viruses to your deck during a round and you'll get unique buffs/cards based on how many are added to the deck. The negative side is that the viruses clog up your deck and hand, and you'll have to spend energy to get rid of them or take some damage if they stay in your hand. There are cards that benefit from viruses, of course, like one that has you discard all of them to gain defense. But all that being said, that is a lot of potatoes to learn and get through when you're first trying to learn the MEAT of a game.
You also get a companion. The companion sits there unless you choose to upgrade them on your run. For Sora, i had a little droid and when I upgraded our companion level, i got a card that allowed me to add a virus to my deck, and another that allowed me to damage all enemies.
When you start a run, you're given a few choices as to where you'll start. They have different perks to start, which gives you a bit of variety.
The graphics and visuals are actually pretty cool. The game slows a little when you play a card, and when you follow up with another card it looks like a combo. They definitely put some time into making it look cool.
Overall, i think this game is very good. It's difficult, and the mechanics are going to take a second to get used to, but once you do I think you'll really enjoy it.
If I had advice to give to the developers, I'd say we need more reminder text on certain symbols. The start of the run just has a bunch of small colored emblems and they don't tell you what they mean when you hover over them. I'm sure I'll figure it out once I play some more, but like... you could just tell me.
That's all though. Very good and I cant wait to master this one.

I see a fair number of the negative reviews citing the difficulty of the game, but I didn't find it to be any more difficult than plenty of other card battler roguelites. It's not unfair at all.
The art style and setting are super compelling (gives me strong Heavy Metal vibes), and it seems like a little thing, but the animations being tied to playing cards gives the game a really visceral feel. Real solid game.

While a very different game, I just love what this offers. I feel that in many other deckbuilding games, I get lost in all the effects which makes it very hard to calculate damage and optimize your move. I feel the developers tried hard to not include enemy effects that modify damage or armor so the Interface really tells you all the numbers you need to plan your best move, which is quite rewarding.

I just keep coming back to this game. It's hard, but it's usually fair and pretty great. The clan mechanics are each very different and keep things fun.

Takes some getting used to, but the animations, kinetics and zones set it apart from a lot of other deck-building battlers. Not as refined as slay the spire, but dripping with aesthetic.

Love the game so far, but is there any hope of rag dolls for enemies would be funny to watch the little flying squids that zap me for my poor built decks, just zip away with a final jab. ya know?
