As a Panzer General veteran, I feel that there are many neat ideas to celebrate and applaud here, but frankly, the shortcomings -as few as they are- pretty much messed up the game for me. I really dig things like extended attack distance for certain units (e.g. two hexes attack range for tanks), allowing multiple units in the same hex, assault, morale and such. I also love that Panzer Corps' bullshit slot system (where under certain circumstances a Panzer II has the same slot requirements as a Panzer IV) is gone here and we are back to the good olde' prestige, like in the very first Panzer General. However, the game itself is... not really a good game. First and foremost the game is RNG heavy and has the same issue like Strategy Mind, namely it's not a wargame, it's a puzzle game. Let's start with RNG. First and foremost units are not guaranteed to hit (you can tweak it to some extent, but come on...), so you are at the mercy of RNG. Maybe it changes with unit veterinacy, maybe not, but in the beginning you can pretty much lose from a few bad rolls. Also, for example first mission, turn two, I had fully reinforced infantry in a heavily fortified position, then a recon vehicle popped out of nowhere, made a regular attack, then an assault, had a lucky dice roll, my infantry was wrecked and surrendered, just as it is. Excuse me, what?! Also, at least based on the first mission, it's a puzzle game. See, in the battle of Arras your forces are deployed heavily in the eastern flank, barely a skeleton crew on the western flank. However, in turn #2 and turn #3 enemy forces will heavily counterattack (no indication whatsoever beforehand) at the western flank and unless you start to reinforce it as soon as possible and try to reposition some units beforehand, you will be wrecked. Reinforce must include some AT capabilities, since the attack will be vehicle/tank heavy. Also, repositioning from the western flank is almost impossible, as they will be caught in the middle counterattack. Sorry, but am I supposed to be a clairvoyant, or is it a game tailored for save scumming, or...? Clearly a labor of love, but not a really good game in it's current form. I may give it a try once more, but at the moment I just don't feel save scumming and trying to get a good roll, so I can proceed.

very fun but be warned that there are horrible tutorials, the only way to learn how to play is threw campaign mode, I strongly suggest you watch a yt video on how to play the game
