Very cute & engaging but a bit harder than I expected. Time for objectives does run out, so you can't take your sweet time--which would be fine if you could manually save and load, but you can't. So if you mess up, there goes an hour or so of gaming. And this honestly wouldn't be anything to think about either if it didn't stop you from unlocking levels. That was a bit annoying. But better a game be a bit too hard than too easy (and honestly keeping a KEEN focus on the MAIN objective spelled success for me). Still, love the MUSIC, the environment, the character designs, the little cute bios for each villager, and the little puns/jokes sprinkled throughout. It IS a very charming game, which is why for me it's been worth sticking to. ♥♥♥

Outlanders is my favorite cozy game of all time. I prefer Outlanders over larger titles like Stardew Valley or Animal Crossing. The game design is breath-taking, I love how the levels can actually be difficult, and I like the mechanics in the game. I love playing this game in the morning to get my brain awake and ready for the day. I have told many friends to play this game, and I have all of the DLC levels. I love this game so much, and I have recently found out about the second Outlanders game that is on Apple Arcade. I really hope the second game is brought to Steam. Developers, you have a guaranteed purchase and playthrough from me!!! I love Outlanders, thank you for bringing it to Steam!!

Highly Recommend. I have the base game and all of the expansions.
This game is similar to Townsmen, in my opinion, but more relaxing / simple. Definitely requires less brain power to play, and is easier in general.
There are many levels to go through, each having a "Completion Goal" and a "Optional Goal" that must be achieved in a specific amount of game days. There is also the sandbox mode for those wanting to play without set goals / pressure.
Each level takes about 1.5 hours to complete and the maps / resources available / builds available vary in each one as well. Some levels are more challenging than others. You build buildings, assign workers, gather and manage resources. Once you've completed the goals assigned to the level, you have the option to continue playing until the end of the time period allotted or finish and move on to the next level.
The game does become a little repetitive, as you learn what buildings should be build when etc., but as each level provides you with limits, you sometimes need to think outside the box to succeed.
There is a relaxing "spa" music playing in the background, which I enjoyed as it made the game even more relaxing and pleasant to play.
I love this game because it takes very little energy to play, which is wonderful at the end of a work day / after the kids are in bed and your brain is mush. It's challenging, yet easy and relaxing. I very much enjoy this game, and would love to see even more expansions.
-- This game is much better than Outlanders 2, which was just released for Apple Arcade. Not a fan of that one. --
