I like it. Old? It's a DOS game, so yes, but it's fun. Sadly I don't have the patience to read the manual, and the guy on line with videos about how to play it is soooo slow, but I think the average player can figure it, and once I get into it, I expect to poke thru the manual for details, once I have a basic idea. It is a strategy game, no tactics to be said. The units move one at a time, then most of them can only attack spaces next to them. If there is a way to use the archers offensively without putting them right into the enemy, I haven't found it. I does fire defensively though if an adjoining unit is attacked. There is a siege weapon that shoots at a distance, but I have only seen the enemy use it so far. There is magic, I guess, haven't used any of that yet. Three levels of difficulty is nice, only playing on easy so far. And there is a rich story, but you are just along for the wide it seems, not a bad thing. All in all an easy two thumbs up. ADDENDUM: Almost five and a half hours in, and I am really having fun. The game has a real old-school war game feel, with the benefit of the computer dealing with things like fog of war and such. Very fun.
