This small game is a nice little homage both to the early 2000's era of edgy flash games and to the oldschool bio-mecha anime akin to Evangelion or Guyver. While not presenting too much in terms of level design or enemy behavior, it has very tight and responsible controls, and allows player to become a killing machine, cutting through everything like a hot knife. The levels don't have any special objectives besides finding the exit or killing the boss, so it's up to you - to wipe out every location of the enemies, or just rush straight to the exit.
Aside from simple, but satisfying combat, the game also presents such an interesting feature as eating the corpses of your enemies. This will either heal the Cynoroid, or replenish the energy needed for performing the melee attacks/deflecting/acceleration mode.
In terms of difficulty, the game is quite easy even on the Hard mode, and I can't imagine many people dying even once during the first Act. With the appearance of the fast and sneaky enemies from the Act 2 the difficulty starting to ramp up a bit, and culminating in the three last levels of the Act 3, with all the fat enemies and not much ammo laying around. Even so, Cynoroid: Forsaken is a casual player friendly game, that is not a bad thing in this particular case. After all, isn't the Cynoroid supposed to be a badass mecha exterminator?
+ Advantages: responsible controls; satisfying and juicy combat full of blood and guro; murky post apocalyptic cyberpunk setting; easy to perform deflecting of enemy attacks; secret passages that could contain ammo; new skills, or some stuff from the dev;
- Disadvantages: medium lagging in big areas with many sounds overlaying each other; weird shooting sound of the automatic rifle (weapon 2); the level design doesn't present much diversity of backgrounds, traps, or environment;
For those who love edgy games stained with blood and adorned with intestines, like Zombie Smashers X or Rework the Dead: Evil, I recommend this one.
