Just finished a live playthrough on Twitch. It's the type of game where if you play it once and get one ending, you can play it again and again to get different options. I did this and got a few outcomes. I won't spoil what they are, but I'll say I got a few that felt unsatisfying and one that felt like "winning" (even though this is very much a game that you don't really "win").
The art is gorgeous and the story is pretty entertaining on a first or second run. Would I play a sequel? Probably not unless it was free. It felt devoid of suspense a lot of the time, and some of the outcomes seemed a little dramatic with less than realistic reactions (one word...repercussions? Characters didn't seem to face 'em). It's also very short. I'm not mad about my purchase--it was only $5 USD after all...but I don't know that I'd emphatically recommend. Something to check out if you REALLY enjoy text-based choose your story games.

The best visual novel I have ever played. Beautiful graphics, lots of different endings based on what you choose... is good. 10/10 100%

I've actually enjoyed the game. It's not long, but I think the price is justified. The voice acting and the characters themselves were the biggest plus. I like how they were designed, and I especially enjoyed seeing their clashing personalities at full display under the circumstances they caught themselves in.

pretty short, but to get all the achievements you have to replay the game multiple times anyway.
i like the art style and the story is pretty interesting, but u get to the end of the story super quickly. i thought it was smart that u can choose if u want the normal amount of gore, or less gore, but i have played this game and even in the "normal gore" option, there wasnt really any gore. id recommend this for the price, bc it might be fun once in a while, but dont expect this to be a game that u can play for a long time, since u reach the endings so fast.

I'm not a huge visual novel player, but I had played the original gamejam version before and this new release is a great reason to revisit. The art is as fantastic as it was before and the voice acting is great across the board, which makes repeat playthroughs feel much more worthwhile just to hear the delivery. The mystery was fun to work out, as is trying to manipulate the story to try and get specific outcomes.

Ehhh, I feel like I would have enjoyed this a lot more if the game didn't randomly ignore my mouse clicks. For example, sometimes I would click to advance to the next line of text and the game wouldn't accept my input until I moved my mouse and clicked elsewhere. Other times, it wouldn't auto complete the current line of text. From what I could tell, there was no consistency to why this was happening (ie it wasn't because I was clicking certain areas), so I feel like it was a bug, rather than me doing something wrong
There's also how each playthrough will take around 5-15 minutes, and after every ending, the game essentially restarts, meaning you have to watch the developer's unskippable animated logo and also choose if you want normal or less gore every time you start again
Basically, this Visual Novel just kinda sucks to navigate - it's clunky and the frustration REALLY took me out things. The story itself seemed...okay I think. Again, it's another Visual Novel that is very short, but has a ton of choices and encourages multiple playthroughs which is fine, but occasionally feels a bit shallow
Get it on sale if you like these types of structures in visual novels

Katie has the misfortune of seeing just how crazy people can behave when they’re scared and paranoid about a Halloween curse. Will everyone make it through the night or will a bunch of people die for no good reason? Is the curse all in their heads or could it really be true?

• OpenDyslexic font and different text sizes available.
• “Less Gore” option.
• Links attached to people’s names in the credits. Neat!
• Striking art style.
• Several CGs to collect for CG Gallery.
• Several branching paths and endings.
• Encourages critical thinking skills.
Complaints
• The Snowhaven Studios logo animation has to play each time a new playthrough is started. Just a bit annoying.
• At least one typo.
A great visual novel for Halloween!

It's a pretty short game. My first time I finished it within 20 minutes, with 90% of the time spent just getting the background and not really progressing the story/making choices. There was literally no gore that I experienced on "normal gore". I really wanted to like it, and the story had potential, but I think it was just very short and not enough to give you an actual opinion on characters. I made one seemingly mundane choice which ultimately led to a crazy outcome which I felt like didn't even give me an option to prevent it.
If it were longer and had more depth I would love it! Just not for me. If you like really quick stories, then perhaps you will enjoy it.

I came for the art everything else sucked me in! So this game caught my eye with its striking art and character designs I don’t normally play visual novels but as I played this game I was sucked into its excellent writing and well made characters the cast is small but they do so much with them and the games setting they bring you into their world at the start and make you want to stay with the writing and you’ll want to experience every path the game has to offer I got the “true” end by mistake and it just made me hungry for more this is the perfect Halloween game and the developers should be so proud of what they’ve made I can’t wait to see what they create next because Not it has become my yearly Halloween tradition
