Early Access so keep in mind they aren't done with the game: 40 hours in and I can honestly say I see a great amount of promise with this game. The blueprint system is interesting and gives reason as to why you need to explore as well as learning how to make new things, rather than just unlocking them by meeting some crafting quota or requirement. The game is slow paced enough that a casual gamer, like myself, can spend hours making things 'just right'. Yet the realistic limited resources adds a much appreciated 'this cannot go on forever' vibe. I haven't explored more than three islands so far, but can say I am pleased with how each island has its own little danger and challenges that doesn't make them repeats of each other. With the promise of yet more islands potentially being added, I can easily see this being a game I could play for months without regretting the cost. As for Cons, I find the constant swaying of the PC to be somewhat irritating. I feel like they are under a constant Drunkensss debuff. While on the ocean on the raft I could absolutely see this making sense, but when standing on the shore trying to dig up potatoes it is an annoyance. - I also find the limitation to when you can sleep to be less than appealing. Getting the 'you slept too much' notice when I want to sleep through the night so my castaway can rise up bright and early for another day of fighting off spiders and fishing is not something I am a fan of. However, it is only a small irk that barely takes away from the fun of the game. Despite putting in over 40 hours so far, I have barely dug into the real meat of this game. That's with it being a unfinished one at that. I would strongly recommend the game for anyone whom is a fan of Green Hell or Sons of the Forest, though it does lack the looming threat of natives or mutants coming for you, it carries the familiar elements in crafting and your health/stamina/food/sanity stats. I haven't hunted a shark yet, but it is on my to-do list! Oh, also. This games got jokes. All I will say is a particular shark blueprint had me wheezing Dr. Pepper down the wrong pipe at 2 am.

Project Castaway's very close to what you may have seen in Stranded Deep. 13 hours in and having a blast. Building took some time to get use to, and took forever to figure out how to break buildings but now I got it, you just keep hitting it with the hammer and it will break. I'm having a lot of fun, but wish my buddy could play together as a campaign. I like the story, but it seems to be a little long winded at times. end result.... I like it! you may too. Danial

Early game is FUN, but to finish the game you have to build something to escape the islands. That means finding blueprints scattered all over at least 6 islands covered in leaves and rocks, and it takes some time to sail between them. Once you've been over every inch of all of them multiple times, you find you're still missing one or two and can't finish the game. There is no mechanism to find them, you just stumble across them. Or you don't. And if you fluke that you DO find them, it's then an excruciating grind of visiting all those islands again to look for components you may still be lacking. Who the hell thought that would be fun?

I love the game don't get me wrong !! But there are many things I wish were improved on, like how you can't move or remove objects after crafting them. that is my big disappointment next to that all my equipment I craft disappear .. also I would like to be able to see the number amount of objects in my backpack .and or when crafting and building that i can see an inventory of available resources I have on hand.

This game has been out for 6 months and there are still soooo many bugs. Regardless of the Early Access title, basic mechanics should work before you build on from what you have started. For example: In order to save your progress you have to make a bed, only building only SOMETIMES works, no bed - no save - no progress. Delete bed, remake blueprint - still not able to build a bed. Go to main menu to reset: Lose all progress. GoodO. The loading screens take FOREVER for what appears to be a fairly basic game. The survival captions on what to do next get covered by further instructions if you do anything else new or there is a object in your vicinity, so you can't read what you need to do and for a new player, knowing how to survive is kinda important. Movement feels floaty and unrefined. You have no body when you look down. If you're fan of survival games like Stranded Deep or Green Hell, let this one cook a lil longer. It looks okay, but it just doesn't work right now.

I was a massive fan of Stranded Deep and when I saw this game coming I followed and wish listed it. Bought it as soon as I was able to. The graphics are amazing. Truly love it. The ambience of being on the island is great. No music. Just the crashing of waves and the sound of rain and thunder. Beautiful. That is about the only good things I can say about this game so far... I understand it is early access, but some bugs should have been dealt with by now. Getting stuck in my house when trying to bring up the utility wheel should not be happening at this stage. The fun part is, there is no way to un-stick yourself. If you are lucky enough to be close to your bed, you can trigger the sleep options which may get you unstuck, otherwise its load from last save. Which will most likely just crash your game. Things I have spent a long time sourcing and putting together should not magically fall apart when I turn my back. I hope the developers sort this mess out because I have started a new game 7 times now and have had to abandoned time and time again due to crashes, bugs and glitches when all I want to do is enjoy what would be one of the best and most beautiful survival games on the market
