Id say that the game so fare is very good but I wouldn't say to buy the game now because quite frankly I do find it a little boring. The crew voice detail is good, could be a little better and extra sounds like whizzing bullets and a mision editor should be added

If you enjoyed playing M1 Thank Platoon, then this is a game you should give a try :-) The game has a good balance between simulation and arcade. This way it's a constant challenge to aim your cold war era optical sights, but after a bit of training you get used to most of them and become more effective. For an early access there's already quite a bit to keep you busy, and I'm looking forward how the game further evovlves. BTW: Being a single player game gives it bonus points over it's competitors ;-)

a tank game that cares about authenticity, with a lot of personality. the attention to historical accuracy, vehicle components, and the detail of each different fire control system puts any other simcade tank game to shame, and I love it. the only thing i wish is that they added a copy paste version of a tank that is already in the game for 80 dollars with a special camouflage, would really enhance the experience!

With the recent update finally adding the West Germans and fixing many performance issues, the game is in its best state ever right now. It does take some time to get used to how vehicles work in this game (especially with how rangefinders work on some older vehicles) but some practice and you will be able to hit shots from 3km without much issue. The voice acting is solid, music very much fits the setting, and some of the visuals look really cool. If I where to point out some negatives, it would be that some missions can become boring with "go find that one last enemy that is nowhere to be found" and the generally slow development time (which is absolutely to be expected with a small team working on a niche project like this), but otherwise the pros outweigh the cons by a lot.

At present I cannot recommend >PLAYING< GHPC. The game is FUN once you learn how to use the controls, watching a soviet tank jack-in-the-box after penning it with a sabot never gets old. Unfortunately, there is something that gets old as soon as they show up: the friendly AI. there is no reason to ever have platoon elements follow you because they get lost as soon as you start moving. It is immensely frustrating to be playing the game, lose a vehicle in combat, and have the next one you switch to be stuck against a tree in the woods 500 meters behind the current engagement. I've seen them run into numerous inanimate objects, trees, powerlines, even M2 Bradleys. The enemy AI has no problem pathing to you to ram ATGMs and HEAT down your throat, but I've seen friendly M60s drive half into a hull-down ditch at the very start of a mission (I had to ram it in the side to get it all the way into the ditch to extricate it). >BUY< the game, it will be great eventually, but know the enjoyment you will have in any given mission is inversely proportional to the number of vehicles in your platoon.

Exceptionally fun Tank Simulator. Still at early stages but would love to see more Regions and missions.

It's still in development, but it fits a very enjoyable "Simcade" niche that is regrettably untouched.

It's like playing War Thunder but the tanks are accurate and the gameplay doesn't land you in the psych ward / federal prison. This will get even cooler when we can play with friends.

7 hours into this now and the more I see the more I like. Pros: - Good balance between playability and realism. The game feels like a simulation, but without the DCS level switchology and manual reading. You can get to the fun quickly while also having a believable, realistic experience. - There's a decent amount of vehicles to play around with already. T-64s, M1s, BMPs and much more are all playable. - There's a lot of missions and they are modifiable once you complete them on default settings. This adds a lot of replayability. I didn't count them all but there's got to be 40+ and you can switch the default vehicles for other models in their class (switch T-72s to T-55s or Leopard 1s, M113s for BMPs, etc.). You can switch ammo too (3BM15 for 3BM22 on a T-72M, for example). There's also a campaign that appears to be setup for replayability (some randomness built into it). - Graphics are decent and the game performs well enough on my mid-range system. I can play at max settings @ 4K and 30 FPS with no hiccups. This is in full-screen windowed mode. If I use pure full-screen (not windowed) the FPS goes as high as 60. - No crashes so far. - 5 maps to play on IIRC. - Good audio. Gun firing, ammo reloading, and engine sounds are all on point. Decent voice-acting for the crews too. - Has enough content now to easily justify $30. It's a bargain. If you love war sims, you should give it a shot. - Good combined arms feel created with helicopters, artillery, CAS and infantry. Cons: - No mission editor or multiplayer yet. Co-op is coming though, so I'll just be patient. - No commitment to PvP. I can understand that the developers need to focus on creating an awesome single-player and/or co-op experience, but man would PvP be fun in this! I'd probably give up on my unhealthy relationship with War Thunder if this had PvP. - Environment isn't destructible. Maybe they will add that later? Driving a tank through fences has no effect on them, for example. - AI is still a bit wonky. Your platoon-mates will occasionally get stuck on trees, so you'll need to switch tanks in order to get them on the right track. If you have a passion for war simulation like I do, you owe it to yourself to at least give GHPC a trial. Can't wait to see what the devs add next!
