This was my first game from this series, I didn't know anything about Persona before and from the very first moments of the game I got captivated by it. I hadn't have any JRPG experience before P5R except Neptunia but it was Persona that made me love this genre.
Talking about this game, I love everything about it.
Starting with the story, it was amazing watching the high-school students have their own problems beside the main plot with palaces and all the mystic stuff. It was amazing feeling how my opinion about certain characters change with their development. If in the beginning Makoto was kinda annoying, acting like school police, later she became my favorite charecter after everything about her was revealed. Every other character is interesting in their own way.
I don't want to spoiler much but I must say that since I haven't play previous games when I played this one, the plot twist with Igor was very surprising to me and there were actually quite many moments, where something completely unexpected was happening.
I will shortly talk about artstyle and that's the only thing, where I'd give 8/10 instead 10/10 because although I liked it in general, some characters look like their design was planned by completely different people and thy are from different games but it is very minor problem and I got used to it very quickly.
Now to the best part - music. Perfect, excellent, amazing. There is no OST here that I wouldn't like and even after playing the game, I was listening to some of the OSTs occasionally. Even though my most loved typo of music are the more extreme subgenres of metal, I absolutely love jazz and Persona 5 gives a huge variety of songs from acid jazz to jazz rock.
Just play the game, it is worth it.

finally finished it, got the true royal ending and boy, that's some ride i've signed myself into!
the plot is different from previous series i finished and it's interestin to me! i enjoyed it soo far but i did went insane on maruki's palace, especially the puzzle.
the ui is also soo cool, it matches the phantom thieves theme very well and i also love playin around it cuz it's just soo cool.(i did the same with p3r, i love cool uis!)
i like the characters, though i hope haru has more screen time like the others! this is suprisingly first persona that i max every confidants/social links and seeing them at the end to cheer on the mc just touches my heart! and especially at the very end part!
i finished p4g and p3r, now p5r, id say i enjoy the story and everythin a whole of these series! i didnt expect to have this much excitement and im glad to play this series!
as my overall of p5r, i like it! it got interesting plot and entire characters(confidants too)are cool! 10/10

I like to think of persona 5 as a rite of passage in one's gaming journey, as you will never feel the same about video games after it. I went into this game expecting your average "great game," but what I got was something I never expected.
Within the first few hours, the game wraps you into an experience so immersive words simply cannot describe it. The soundtracks and visuals are both irresistible ear and eye candy, and the combat is amazing. The characters may seem a little scripted and whatnot at the start, but as time goes on you get more and more attached to the characters, wanting to spend as much time with them as the game allots you. The story isn't the strongest, but it is nowhere near bad either, as you will be at the edge of your seat many times throughout the game.
Playing through Persona 5 for the first time is something I wish I could experience over and over again, but like everything all good things must come to an end. That being said, I would recommend this game to anyone and everyone who plays video games, regardless of your taste in games. Persona 5 is something for everyone of all walks of life to enjoy.

I beat this game twice, once in the RPCS3 emulator, another in the PS4 Royal version.
Although it may take some time to beat it again, I can guarantee you as someone who spent around 400h with this game: it's pretty good.
The only "negative" thing on this is that the original opening and title aesthethics were a little better.
But you can still see the cinematics on the games hub. I LOVE YOU PERSONA 5, #MakotoBestWaifu

What a perfect game. I had fun playing every second. The entire cast of characters were so well written including the side characters, the game play was some of the most fun you can have in a turn-based rpg. It ending on March 20th (My Birthday) really made it all the more special. I guess you could say it "stole my heart".

For real, ever thought of fighting against corrupt adults who ruin other people's lives for their own selfish gains? Ever wanted to make them confess their evil actions and pay for what they've done? If you've ever wanted that, then this game is for you. Like, it's just like Inception for real, where you go into people's minds to change their cognitions, but in game form and more fantasy-like.
I played Persona 4 Golden before this, and it was great for real, but damn, this game is such an improvement when compared to it! Specially with the battle system, graphics and quality of life improvements. There's also extra content in Royal when compared to the original Persona 5. It adds even more quality of life content and some kind of "museum" place where you can see cutscenes, artwork, 3D models and listen to the game's music (and play cards, for real).
The story is awesome and pretty long too, in a good way (took me over 100 hours to beat). It is for real one of the best stories I've ever seen in any kind of media. For real, everything is full of twists and cool reveals, and the "filler" parts of the story don't feel too disruptive. And the best new addition from this Royal version is obviously the new last chapter of the game, for real. It's not a continuation of the original story, but a self-contained plot that happens right after and is teased throughout the main campaign. Just make sure you don't miss it out for real: try to look into how to access that last chapter without getting any spoilers, I beg you.
I already love the original characters, for real, but the new ones added in Royal are some of my favourite characters of any videogame (♥ Student Called Yoshizawa ♥, my beloved). They're all funny, full of personality and I'd even say some of them are "cool". And I didn't really hate any of the main cast this time (I'm looking at you, Teddie from the hit 2012 Atlus videogame Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 Golden)! For real, I'd even say Goro Akechi is one of the characters of all time!
Voice acting (in English) is pretty decent, I guess. Sometimes, the voice actors can even deliver some good lines for real!! I like all of the character's voices (except when Morgana sounds like Eren Yeager). And when they do bad lines' deliveries, they are still funny to listen to (like that one thing Ryuji is always saying, but for real I can't remember what that line was).
And yeah, the mechanics, the palaces, the battles and the personas are great too, and really well improved since the previous game. The music is also so damn good, like for real, most of the songs are bangers! Having songs I'll keep in my playslist from now on was the Last Surprise I expected from this game, for real if you let these songs Take Over your ears, then I believe that your Life Will Change.
Everything in this game is great, for real. It's not a perfect videogame, but it comes close to being one. It's such a good gaming experience, I'm happy I finally played it.
So yeah, listen to all the people who recommend Persona 5 Royal for real. They're right, it is that good. I used to doubt it, but I'll admit I was wrong. It's a life-changing must-play videogame, for real for real.

I haven't played it that much yet but brilliant game and fantastic OST. It's surprisingly well-designed and clever actually, even teaches you some things like interesting facts about the japanese way of life, very few games do this and get it right.
There's even cats in the game and stuff which is like super cute. Definitely recommend it if you enjoy fun games!

This is easily one of the best JRPG's in existence, featuring well over 100 hours of gameplay and one of the best stories of the genre!
PROS: The best soundtrack in the series; Amazing blend of Japanese Anime & Manga visuals; Combat is superb with the Metaverse & Palaces being a joy to explore compared to dungeons of the previous titles; Rich story with plenty of humor & serious topics; Awesome cast of characters; After school & night activities had a great balance of what you could & couldn't do; The most charming romance options out of all Persona games
CONS: Occasional drop of frame rates, but otherwise it was smooth 99% of the time
CONCLUSION: Persona 5: Royal may just be the best of the bunch, with a 100+ hour story and reworked combat that moves much faster while looking far cooler then other Persona titles. Persona 4: golden is the best game in the series to start with, but Persona 5: Royal exceeds in every way, shape or form compared to older Persona games.
