this game is pretty cool for the first two thirds, and brutally mind numbingly hard in the last few levels. i'd still recommend it, but a word of warning that you may have to use cheats towards the end like i did xD also a flawless remaster by night dive - as always.

Fun 90s FPS with a cool focus on interconnected levels and backtracking.
I thought it pulled off the backtracking system really well. As you progress you get more weapons and movement tools that speed up the process, all the while filling levels with new traps to keep things a lil' fresh. The universal ammo system was also pretty cool, adding an element of strategy towards choosing which of your weapons to fill up, and when.
The biggest issue is definitely how difficult it is to dodge enemy projectiles. The hitboxes on those things feel deceptively big, like if you can see them coming toward you from any angle, then you're not out of the way even if it feels like you should be. This issue is made even worse with all the insanely narrow hallways the levels funnel you down, meaning you have to play gun-fire peekaboo before entering a lot of rooms.
I also think the game is a little slow at the start, making you have to put up with the wimpy pistol for a little bit too long.
Over-all I really liked the game and I recommend it if you're into 90s shooters. If you're new to that era though then I don't think its a bad place to start- but it wouldn't be my first choice.
